(continued) She waited until there wasn't anything else she could do and she took her window of opportunity. I don't think she is selfish. She didn't use any knowledge she had to try to break them up, she even took Lemon to the campsite a few episodes ago to try to help her explain things to George. She lied straight to George's face for Lavon about him kissing Lemon.
I thought the way Lavon treated her was terrible. He disappointed me this episode. When he kicked her out of the kitchen my heart broke for her a little bit. And he has been in the same situation with Lemon and George's secretary so he has no right to be rude and mean to her. And the silent treatment was a little bit immature.
I love Tansy, and felt very sorry for her. Wade blew her off when it was pretty obvious she still had feelings for him.
And I love Rose, but I didn't really want her to end up with Frederick. He didn't seem to fit her personality very well.
All in all, I adore this show, and I hope for anothe

George and Lemon need to stay together. She made a mistake, but at the beginning of the show, I believe they said they were broken up for that year, so I was a little confused why she didn't tell him she had dated someone right when he got back from NY. Besides, they are good together, and I like Lemon way more than George. She's a little crazy sometimes but she loves him.
I think that it was immature of Wade to say bad things about Zoe for half the season and flat out say he doesn't have feelings for her, then still expect her to be in love with him after all of that. She didn't say anything to lead him on. And I feel bad about him being hurt, but her feelings for George aren't going to go away the second Wade declares his love for her. I feel bad for Zoe. She took the only chance she had. The race being some big symbol of love was a little ridiculous, but standing up and telling George how she felt was brave. She waited until there wasn't anything else she could do and she to

Mollie, you're taking an all-too-common approach to "politely" dismiss other people's opinions. By framing complaints as coming from "biased, irrational shippers," you're implying they aren't valid, while other people who can see "both sides" are much more open-minded and thus their opinions should be taken more seriously. Many people are capable of (dis)liking characters or storylines either in addition to or separate from their preferences for romantic relationships. And even if they are linked, who cares? If people's feelings get hurt because someone likes Wade over George or George over Wade, who cares? It's a silly TV show, and we're all anonymous internet posters. As long as we maintain civility and don't attack each other (eitehr overtly or subtly), what difference does it make?
Once again, speaking solely for myself, I'm criticizing this storyline because we've been TOLD but not SHOWN George is perfect and Zoe is in love with him and because I find the way she's behaved towar

Part 2:
However, I completely understand that a lot of girls may like guys like G, the more prince charming type, and thus would ship ZG, it's not my choice, but it doesn't mean one has to be wrong and the other right. I won't trash talk G in order to build up W, so why does it always seem like that's the way it goes.
Finally, I really liked this review and think that it does point some major flaws in the writing of the show that should be addressed if we are lucky enough to get a second season.

So, If I recap the love traingles on last night's episode, Tanzie is pining after Wade, Wade after Zoe, Zoe after George, George loves Lemon and Lavon heartbroken because of Lemon. That makes a lot of people who are unhappy. Why not get together Lemon and Lavon, George and Zoe and Tanzie and Wade? But I guess it would be too easy...

Oh boy! as always GZ fans are dumping on W for being immature/insensitive/mean/too good looking and WZ fans are dumping on Z for being selfish/snob/mean...it's always so evident that it's all morivated by a personal bias.
Both w and Z have been immature/insensitive/selfish/ etc. at times and yet each side finds thousands of reasons to excuse their favorite while canning the one that doesn't fit their "ship" inexcusable and "OMG how is it possible that somebody would ship them".
I'm a hardcore Zoe and Wade shipper and think they have more chemistry and more to bring to each other in terms of challenging each other, growing together and opening each other up to different sides of themsleves. However, I can also accept that they are both flawed, both make mistake and have insecurities and hangups that make them act stupif at times. That's realistic to me. Actually, my biggest beef with George is precisely that he's been painted solely has the honorable, nice guy without any faults eve

I've never been on team Wade, but I've got to admit I felt a bit sad for him yesterday. I never believe before he was that serious about her, but in that episode you could feel it. As for Zoe, you can't really blame her, Wade has never been straight with her. I remember the one time she asked him point blank if he liked her, he said no. I think Zoe and Wade could end up together, but Wade has got some serious growing up to do before that happens. He can't just play pranks on her, sending mixed messages (I hate you, but really I like you...) and flash his abs and expect her to fall on his lap. Sorry guys, but that's what he does. If if really like Zoe, he's got to tell her and go after what he wants. He can't be mad at her if he's never been honest with her. The reason she never seriously considered him as a love interest wasn't because of his job or anything. How could Zoe take him seriously when he was always acting like a child...

May 1st, 2012 8:46 PM
Zoey did hurt Wade this episode but Wade did hurt her a few times as well. It is hard to take Wade's feelings seriously when he has never been honest with her. The reason we are sympathetic towards Wade is that we see a side of him that she has yet to discover. So I can't blame her for not taking his feelings towards her seriously even after Lavan's warning. However, I do think it was really selfish of her to jeopardise the race and hurt their chances of winning. Also, Wade did the exact same thing to Tansy which I thought was worse considering he actually knew how she felt. Zoey and Wade have never been in a serious adult relationship so no wonder they both have trouble in that department.
The reason Zoey likes George is that he is dependable. She has never had a dependable male role model in her life. I hope Zoey sees the side of Wade that Lavan and we see because then she will realise that he is the right person for her.
I think it's important for us viewers of HOD to give our opinions on the show too because it shows we care and desperately want a 22 episode second season since its unsure what CW still plans to do.
Here's my prediction for the season finale though... I think it will be Tom and Wanda that actually get married; something just tells me there still might be a twist. However, I'm definitely all for Zoe and Wade - it might just not be the right time for George and Lemon to get married so soon with the few problems they need to work through.
can zade happen already i love them two. Wade looked so hurt last night which sucked..and Lavon telling Zoe she couldnt be there was hurtful too. come on writers step ya game up

I don't usually respond to message boards but I really like Hart of Dixie. Well yes, Zoe went after George too fast and it was inappropriate but he is the only guy, other than Lavon, that doesn't make her feel like a fish out of water. George and Lemon, however weird, are really the couple to root for and are the ones that are clearly in the best position to grow up. But the purpose of the show is to get Zoe invested in her patients and become a good doctor. I think that her inability to connect with people was why she was not accepted into surgery so she is being sent to Purgatory (Bluebell) until she figures it out. So she will screw up, hurt people, and get the occasional success along the way until she finally understands that people are not just variables. I am definitely a team Wade person and feel badly for him, not only because Zoe stepped on him, but she hurt his chances at realizing his own dreams of opening the bar. He is my favorite character of the whole bunch. I h

(Part 2) My heart sort of broke when I saw Wade getting his hopes up about Zoe, only to have them dashed by Zoe's utter indecency as a friend. I mean, she ruined their chance at the $5000, which was for Wade's business start-up. Wow, yeah, she was actually a huge bitch this episode. Aside from all that, Tom & Wanda are really cute, and I think it's worth noting that Rose probably should have felt a lot worse if she really had appendicitis. I know several people who have had it, and like she should have been doubled over and like puking in pain all day if it was really about to burst.... but I guess this show isn't really about the medical aspect of Zoe's life, so whatever.

Okay, people are definitely being a little harsh towards Zoe, but i can't say I disagree with them. She should have given George more time/space because if he really was someone she cared about, she would know he was going through something that he had to figure out on his own, not to mention that a few months in Bluebell has nothing on a 15 year relationship. Also, Zoe is incredibly stupid if she can't tell that Wade is into her. She would have noticed if she paid him any attention...EVER. While I do want them together, Wade should probably have treated Tanzy better this episode, and he probably shouldn't have been so juvenile about his affection for Zoe. Lavon was just trying to help out one of his best friends; he knows how Wade feels and he think he had every right to treat Zoe the way he did when she enters the kitchen. And if you think about it, Zoe accepted Lavon's affair with Lemon because in a way it brought her closer to her fantasy with George. Lavon is not happy with Zoe's

I have been reading this board for quite awhile and I love it!
I am team Wade all the way and with that being said, I wish both he and Zoe could just get over their own selves and get together! I have thought all season long that Wade just does not believe in himself enough to be with someone like Zoe and he is just what she needs! I like George don't get me wrong, but I think that he and Zoe just make better friends. I have never seen a real spark between them. I could say so much more but I have to go to work! Here is hoping for season 2. I would love to learn more about Harley, see Rose and Zoe's friendship continue to grow, Levon and Brick to finally find someone amd of course for Wade and Zoe to give each other a chance.

I see that so many people are mad at Zoe's feelings toward George. How many people can say that no matter what, they would never do that in real life? I don't know how many times I have seen people struggle over feelings that are out of place. Yes, zoe comes off as sometimes selfish. But most of the time, EVERYONE is selfish in one way or another. She thought that she had an opportunity and she took it. She didn't take advantage. They are both to blame for New Orleans. Lemon should have known better than to cheat. Don't rag on Zoe just because she thought she could take a chance. Because many of you would do the same thing if you had the chance.
