Shawn and Gus took on an interesting project this week on Psych, becoming rebels with a cause when they teamed up with a man wrongly convicted of a crime he didn't commit.

Yes, it required some "True Grits" on the part of our boys to defend their client, considering the such strong evidence piled up against him.

In a twist I didn't even see coming, this episode pitted Shawn against the officer who put Thane Woodson away, one Juliet O'Hara. It was pretty entertaining to watch these two struggle with their professional opinions at odds, while still being the loving couple we all know they are.

And who knew Shawn and Juliet Tivo-ed "The Voice?"

Even more entertaining was watching Carlton egg on what he perceived to be their inevitable breakup. If there's one thing Carlton is good at, it's being a pessimist. Though I don't think we'd love him quite the same if he weren't.

Then there was Anthony Anderson as Thane. His comedic timing seamlessly meshed with the cast, from his angry declarations to the press that he would find the man really responsible for the robbery which got him incarcerated, to his uncanny ability to make his way to a crime scene he wasn't invited to - and even his textbook memorization of the California Penal Code. He's a character I would love to see back soon!

Let's not forget Stony Jackson's guest appearance. We always laud the ability of Psych to pull in iconic individuals, and this guy has been the subject of many punchlines on this show in the past. I was so pleased I finally got to see him on the show.

Highlights from the episode:

• learning that Henry hires day-workers.
• Henry's advice to Shawn that "Love lasts, Money Doesn't."
• Henry immediately withdrawing that insight when he realized Shawn lost the chance at $10,000.
• Shawn imitating Thane and failing.
• Shawn and Gus tearing up at Thane's story.
• Shawn's attentiveness to Juliet when he'd head she'd been in an accident.
• Shawn and Gus making loose references to Ghost when Carlton snidely remarked that he, too, hadn't been seriously injured in the accident.

Can you believe it's season finale time already next Wednesday?!?
