Gossip Girl Producers: Return to "Core Dynamics and Characters" Ahead

at . Comments

Gossip Girl's core characters and dynamics will be on display in the CW drama's sixth and final season this fall, according to executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

With show-runner Josh Safran departing to helm Smash Season 2, and producer Sara Goodman elevated to his former role, one can at least hope (if not expect) this will actually be the case.

Schwartz confirms that the 11-episode Gossip Girl Season 6 will focus on a return to the “core dynamics and the core characters” that drew fans to the show in droves at the outset.

Blair and Chuck

Adds Savage of the coming conclusion to the show:

“There are definitely some things we want to see in the Gossip Girl series finale, and we think we have a great opportunity to tell those final stories and honor our characters and honor our fans."

"We’re all really excited for this final run.”

What about you? Are you excited or apathetic? Do you think the show will redeem itself in its final chapter? What kind of stories are you hoping to see in the sixth season swan song come October?

is Jenny, Vanessa and Eric don't return at all for the final season, it will be a dissapointing season for me.

It will always be Blair and Nate for me!! I know it probably wont happen ever again but a girl can dream!

Core dynamics a.k.a:
1. Chair's cat-mouse game; 2. Dan and Serena trying to work out a relationship; 3. Nate without a purpose in life/Family issues; 4. Lily-Rufus-Bart triangle; 5. Schemes and a lot of Gossip Girl dirty laundry.

LMAO, read this as the description of Gossip Girl on a TV review website "A bunch of spoiled rich kids swap partners and do other crazy things in this teen soap." LOL, it's the just the perfect definition of it.

If josh Schwartz and Stephanie savage get more involved than they have then it will be a great final season. And chuck and Blair getting married and having babies would help that along :P

They could just save money and repeat season 1. This doesn't really sound exciting. The only thing that might be interesting is if they focussed on anything BUT the Blair love triangle and gave us a real Nate story.
By the way, is this a Chuck fansite?

I wish that I were excited, but I don't trust the departing and future showrunners. Oh well.

i want to see Chuck and Blair scheming together, work together probably their dark side rise again when taking down Bart (haha just wanna Bart realize they are more powerfull and capable than he think),perhaps he'll surrender and acknowledge his son and their relationship could gone better...most important is Blair-Chuck wedding ^_^ (Blair n Louis have a grand wedding, why can't the epic couple can't have better wedding!?.......
other maybe....
Lola???go away
Ivy-Georgina combo?interesting!
Chuck-Blair-Jack-Georgina-Ivy (ultimate power) combo VS Bart-Lily partner

what is with all the dan hate on this site?

@elise i agree with you SAFRAN RUINED THE SHOW.There is no way i hell they can ever fix that, they went too far this season with dair as couple wtf was that?, blair marries a prince, a pact with god? Safran mocked the fans and direspected us.This show is such a joke because of him.I will watch season 6 only for chuck and blair but the damage have already been done.

And who am I? That's one secret I'll never tell ... You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl

[to Jenny] That's the thing. You need to be cool to be queen. Anne Boleyn thought only with her heart and she got her head chopped off. So her daughter Elizabeth made a vow never to marry a man. She married a country. Forget boys. Keep your eye on the prize, Jenny Humphrey. You can't make people love you, but you can make them fear you. For what it's worth, you're my Queen. I choose you.
