I really think it is going to be Derrek. I read somewhere that he is not coming back. Plus that means Mereidith with stay in Seattle and that gives her the drama she has to deal with in the next season. Everyone loves McDreamy so they will have to deal with it to. Christina will stay for Meredith and her marriage will either evolve into divorce or she will get pregnant. Arizona will probably be in a coma because she is pregnant in real life. If Derrek does die, it will be really hard on Mark and of course Lexie will be there for him and Meredith. April will probably have a nervous breakdown and Avery will be there for her because he feels responsible OR she will shine because she wasn't on the plane and Seattle Grace will need her. I think Bailey will be Bailey, incredibly strong for the most part but will have a vulnerable moment about 15 minutes before the show is over.

What we don see should be worrying us more than all the promos They all are about the plane crash Those in the crash are the numbing spray before the shot. look at the definition of irony The bitter sweet is they all live from this disaster, I do think horrific injuries occur, but they are alive and then the part we are seeing what is happening at the hospital because it is dark brutal, and painful. The hospital will know about the crash and thoses who were in the crash are in the dark Abbott the events unfolding look at the crash as the peguel of what is to come. The challenge is putting all the pieces together. Ps. Adel has never been a main character she is a recurring role and she is not that close to the other cast so rueling that out

Adele does not make sense and neither does Webber really. Shonda said people were going to throw rocks at her - I can't see that happening for Richard or Adele.
I do think Lexie and Arizona could be red herrings, but I also think the death is going to be someone on the plane... And once you really start thinking about it, a character standing up and talking does not make him/her safe. Also, recurring in dreams is not the only way to return. If Meredith dies, Ellen would still be credited as a main character for the voice over...

A few thoughts:
1. Just because they signed new contracts doesn't mean she won't kill a character off (in theory, EVERYONE is under contract now, right?)
2. Lexie is too obvious. Merideth wanted to stay in Seattle because of Lexie, so if she dies, she leaves. She's the only family Mer has left(not close w/dad or other sister).
3. I think the title plays into the death, but not how we think. Maybe Richard dies in another plane crash (meeting Jackson's mom) or April jumps off a building or car off of a bridge.

Since all the rumors and post started and the history of the show there is something not quite wright and a bit odd. I couldn't but my finger on it but after racking my brain I figured out what was driving me crazy. The promos and info on the final points to the crash, but in the shows history that has never been that cut and dry. I think the plane crash is a huge huge huge distraction. We have seen very few clips of the events that are accruing at the hospital. Shonda said this was one of the hardest thing she had ever written the first time I read that I figured they would kill off the main players in the crash. Now I am more focused on what we are not seeing the main character (metaphorically speaking) ithe hospital. There are so many things that could happen a terrorist attack a fire, an earth quake, but sticking with the title I could se another plane crash. A commercial jet crashes into the hospital or once everyone is back Webber heads th the medical conference and is a plane c

The Chief will have heart attack and die during the dinner mentioned in the synopsis for the week. Makes no sense to mention the dinner along with such tragedy unless it's a setting for unexpected tragedy. The crash victims will survive. They'll celebrate that at the dinner where the chief will die. Greys will buy out his contract.

I think it will be Arizona. She and Lexie are the only two on the plane that aren't on the "safe"list, Callie is narrating so it will affect her most, and Kate Capshaw is pregnant.
The "6 went down" and "1 will die" could be unrelated events. Such a major disaster is a perfect and textbook Shonda Rhimes blind. When has she ever been predictable? Remember Dell? Remember George?
This is scary situation for everyone but people need to step back and look at the facts.
1. The originals - Webber, Bailey, Alex, Mer, Derek, and Christina were on the "safe list" and just signed 2 yr contracts. They are not dying. Not even Greys could hold a major character on the show as a ghost for that long. So maybe they get injured, but they are NOT dying.
2. Mark and Avery were also on the "safe list." They are not dying.
3. Shonda Rhimes said it was a beloved character, so much so that the writers cried, which never happens. So April, Owen, Teddy, Ben, and maybe even Callie can be ruled out. Various fans like them yes, but have they been around long enough for the writers to be attached strongly enough to be in tears? Not in my opinion.
4. It has been confirmed that someone dies, that someone important dies. It has NOT been confirmed that someone dies in the plane crash. That is an assumption everyone has taken for granted. The "6 went down"
5. In a spoiler on here, Shonda said she had learned since George there are some characters you can't kill. So that helps to eliminate Lexie, along with my 4th point, even though I can see the writers possibly crying over her. Plus, earlier this year, she was willing to be the Grey in GA, if Ellen Pompeo didn't resign. If she's leaving, her mind changed really quickly. Arizona can be eliminated for much of the same reasons, particularly, 4 and 3.
6. At the beginning of this year, maybe before the season even started, there was a spoiler on here about it being Adele's last season. But no one remembers it.
Adele being the major death is perfect. It gives her an exit with closure. It is unexpected. She has been around since the first season and I would say she's beloved enough to make the WRITERS cry, especially for Webber's pain.
Logically, she's the only one who makes sense. Or I'm in denial. ; )

I think it's Adele... Fans love Dr. Webber and Adele story so it would be a bummer if she dies. Also Dr. Webber is dating Jackson's mom.

in order to keep me somewhat sain until the finale I picked someone not in the plane crash to die. if they killed someone in the crash that would be too predictable, and shonda rhimes doesn't do predictable, at least not when it comes to finales. so i picked people you would least expect. Dr. Webber, Jackson, and bailey's boyfriend Ben. i'll be sad to see webber or jackson go, ben not so much bc he's not a big character for me. i just really hope all the people in the plane make it out ok

So it will be either Arizona (fans love Calzona) or Lexie (they also love Slexie)...

But back to the dying doctor, with Callie doing the VO... now all roads lead to the toss up between Arizona, Mark, possibly Lexie. Unless Shonda does a surprising twist, which is what she'll probably do.
I'm sure it will be another heartstopping season ender! Anyone could die, and I'm hoping the contract renewals are REAL, because I wouldn't be able to stand any of the originals leaving. A lot of the reasons why certain characters can die are already stated here, but with Callie doing the VO in the teaser, I'm leaning more towards Arizona. (I remember seeing an interview that Chyler really loves the show, so I doubt she'll leave before her contract expires).
No matter who dies, one thing that upsets me about the teaser is the Owen and Teddy scene! If these two get back together I swear I'll barf. I just feel that you can't make Teddy all gaga over Henry only to realize she still loves Owen. I don't approve of what Owen did to his marriage but i'd like to see him and Cristina try to work things out. If Teddy dies (though it's highly unlikely as I don't think she's a beloved as many others), it would be the best case scenario for me. And it would also give Sandra Oh better scen
This is my ultimate theory of what will happen...
Arizona will suffer from paralysis and that will make Callie's words to her I will do whatever you cant do applicable also will make sense why Callie is narrating this episode starting by saying change in an instant also will make Alex stay, will make a very good story line for both the healthy and wheeled chair doctors next year and will make Derek stays after he recovers to try to fix Arizona as she helped them with Zola.
Lexie won't die she just will be very injured and then Mark will confuse to her his feeling and they will be back together the next season.
Cristina will return to her husband feeling that she might been dead away from him and life doesn't worth all of this struggle.
Jackson will stay for April sake, April will stay as Arizona wont be a doctor any more.
Bailey, Webber and Teddy will also stay.
The only one who will die is Adele. Or maybe this is what I am hoping for :)

Patrick Dempsey renewed his contract for 2 more years with the rest of the originals. My guess is Lexie, she looks almost dead in the promos.

I honestly don't care who dies as long as it is not Lexie or Mark. I would love if it was someone who was not involved in the crash. I would be happy to see it be Teddy or Owen but I highly doubt it. I have a gut feeling that it is Lexie which honestly makes me sick to my stomach. The only reason I have continued to watch the show is to see Lexie and Mark reunited and them declaring their love for one another as she dies is not what I have been holding out for. If it is Mark or Lexie I will boycott the show.
