Grey's Anatomy Round Table: "Let the Bad Times Roll"

Welcome back to TV Fanatic's Grey's Anatomy Round Table!

Our official Grey's Anatomy review broke down last week's episode, "Let the Bad Times Roll," in great detail. Now, TV Fanatic staff members Courtney Morrison, Sean McKenna and Christina Tran have assembled for their weekly Q&A discussion to further debate and dissect the goings on at Seattle Grace/Mercy West.

Read their answers below and weigh in with yours!

1. April Kepner failed the boards. Surprised? Excited? What’s next for this character?

Courtney: April is going to have to do another year of residency and take her test next year. She is too committed to leave the program now. I wasn't too surprised and I hate to admit it, but I was kind of excited that it was her and not any of the others.

Christina: How about totally predictable? I wasn’t particularly excited by any means, but I was glad that it was her. I’ve never cared all too much for April. As for what’s next, I imagine a pregnancy scare and/or April doing what she does best - drowning herself in her own sorrows.

Sean: I agree that it was kind of predictable. She's kind of become the character that the writers can make bad or crazy things happen for some dramatic moment, while leaving the other characters on normal story arcs. She's just inconsistent and whatever happens to her, isn't really on the top of my list.

2. Who had the worst interview situation?

Courtney: Meredith! Poor girl was getting sick and still delivering awesome answers. You got to give her credit for never losing focus!

Christina: Alex. After missing his first session, he had to totally step it up and basically be nothing but perfect.

Sean: I thought they all really had difficult times, but Cristina got stuck with Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World. I almost thought he might fail her because of her attitude.

3. Lexie poured her heart out to Mark. Will he come back to her or is he going to start a family with Julia?

Courtney: Lexie all the way! Julia seems like a perfectly nice character, but we don't really know her. That makes me not care about her at all. Sure, she may be a better fit for Mark in some ways but you can't help who you love. I'm guessing Mark and Lexie hook up before seasons end.

Christina: As a total Slexie fan, I want nothing more than for Mark and Lexie to end up together. I get that nothing comes easy, especially for any of Shonda’s characters; however, I’m tired of waiting for something to happen between these two. I just hope Mark makes his decision before season’s end.

Sean: He's not going to start a family with Julia. That being said Mark and Lexie need to really decide if they want to be together or not, because I don't know if I can take Lexie being mopey all next season.

4. Catherine and Webber decide the timing is not right but make plans to get together at the next conference. Should these two work it out? How about making Catherine Avery a regular on the show?

Courtney: I love them! Webber needs something to make him smile after all the hard times he has had. I wouldn't mind seeing Mama Avery more regularly. It could definitely make for some fun scenes with Jackson.

Christina: No, they shouldn’t work it out… at least not anytime soon, anyway. Based on my response, you should know how I feel about the second question. Besides, there are already way too many regulars.

Sean: No thanks. I don't mind her appearing every once in a while, but the cast that we have works just fine. As for the two of them together? I'd rather them wait a bit before coming together again.

5. Meredith, Alex, Jackson, and Cristina passed the boards. Who is going to leave Seattle Grace for another hospital?

Courtney: None of them! Mer has a family and a husband who has a job in Seattle. Alex loves working with Arizona. Jackson wants to learn from Sloan and continue the hottest bromance ever, and Cristina won't leave her person. If anyone is absolutely going to go, it will be Jackson or Cristina.

Christina: Jackson! Maybe he can take April with him.

Sean: Good question but no idea. I want to say none of them? Although, there's always a possibility that one of them will go based on the actors' contracts. Whoever it is, if they go, I hope they get a good send off rather than something abrupt.

Hi I am an occasional Grey's watcher last season I missed some episodes and some from this years, but watched several on demand this past week. I would like to know why Meredith and Yang were even taking boards with Jackson and April are they not different years? I didn't think they were in the same years with residency and WHY is Lexi not taking her boards with all of them too? I hope someone can answer these questions, since I think it might have been over looked?!

I think Meredith is pregnant. That is why she was so sick. In a previous episode, she almost got sick in the OR. So she and Derek will be staying. Christina will have to stay to see her bestie through the pregnancy.

1. - In fact, went the obvious route with April. Sudden changes disturb the Younger Ladies. How's the sequel going? Sex, drugs, pregnancy, Jesus punished, collapse, the Gizzie brother/sister problem, character growth, …the writers then decide if. If at all there will be a season 9. 2. - This clearly Meredith! Guys are struggle with the problems caused by themselves. Only Meredith receives an external enemy ( gastroenteritis ). He is a gifted, qualified and excellent warriors soldier, "I'm fine everything's fine" even under non-ideal circumstances and daaaaamn, Meredith really powered through hers. That's dedication! 3. - At this point, I don't even care. Lexie, please grow up and get a life! 4. - On occasion yes. As a regular character, no thank you. 5. - Anyone planning anything ... will comes, coming in the merry-go-round!!! This is ShondaLand.

1. SD has a contract,Kepner's gotta stay.
2.Mer being unwell during her most important exam! Cris made it hard for herself
3.Mark has to accept if Lex wants to be with him, siblings for Sophia has to wait. He can't have it all.
3. I have a feeling that the planned meet up isn't going to actually happen. Is mrs Avery still married to Avery's dad?
4.I think Avery will stay cos of Kepner. Mer will have a heart to heart with Webber in 8.23 and realise she has to put Der's wishes first. Mer has already caused Der a huge career blip with what she did to his clinical trial, she owes him & it gives her career a boost to go to the top general surgery programme.Alex will also go to Harvard & Cris will go somewhere on the east coast. But their plans may not all work out due to the FINALE

1. I think all of 5 have passed.
2. Cristina's attidute make me get more nervouse
3. I don't know who Mark should choose? Julie's also A Doctor who's good looking and kind to everyone
4. no more regular, leave some room for other excellent guest actor, but I love Jackson's mom
5.I guess Cristina's going to other hospital in the end and will be back to SGWH next season

1. I hoped it wouldn't be April and she would just take the job in another state and begone for good. But she prob will stick around if only to have sex with Jackson. Maybe she finds another specailty cuz she cant do well under pressure. 2. Mer and Alex. Mer because she was sick and Alex because he missed his first session and was tense and had to answer perfectly. The pressure in those situations are intense. 3. I think he will choose lexie in the end, but she needs to grow up a bit. 4. Yes! love them together! She should be a regular or recurring. 5. Alex, Christina and Jackson will all board planes to go to other hospitals in the finale, one of them will die and the others will be there so save the the dying. We will only know in the season 9 premiere or sooner via spoilers and promos. Mer will stay in Seattle or decide Boston but then won't make the plane and will see the crash and realize Christina is on the plane. A cliffhanger worthy of Grey's!

My guess is that Derek will die and that will leave Christina with no choice but to stick by her bestie in Seattle.

1. April just needs to go back to Ohio. She's a joke as a surgeon.
2. Alex. He was doing great until the trick question, and he had a good reason for being late.
3. Lexie's juvenile and annoying. Mark should stick with the adult.
4. If they unload Teddy and April, then sure bring on Catherine.
5. I hope Meredith, Cristina and Alex stay. Wish Avery/April would leave, I don't care where or how. The last thing Grey's needs is another Gizzie.

lexie deserve to b with mark...from the very beginning...
