I saw on person saying on eonline its sara ramirez coz she was looking for apartments in new york coz she got cut off the show....dunno if its true :(

Maybe the promo was shot before the cast signed their contracts. It might well of been Derek who dies....but Shondra would have had to do a rewrite now. Maybe Lexie is really hurt and Mer decides to stay to help her recover. Derek getting sucked out as they hit the trees - he's maybe just a mile or two away safe n sound.... I like the April drink driving theory.

GA's audience would drop with at least 50%, it would be the end of the show I'm sure and I don't think ABC or Shonda wants that. Why kill the hen making the golden eggs?! They are impossible to kill of as some characters are, like Shonda said. There are so many reasons they wouldn't get killed off!!! Both Sara and Jessica saying they absolutely love the show, working for the show, their characters, each of them saying they'll be there till the end.

The obvious death from the promo seams Lexie; that is if Shonda hasn't prepared something creepier at the Hospital. And she fits all the hints: major death of a beloved character, affecting the lives of many (Mark and indirectly Calzona, Meredith, Derek), but not killing the audience, the critics, the fans, the future of the show, media and publicity, more tragic then George's death, Chyler wanting more time with the family, the bittersweet reconciliation with Mark, Jesse Williams saying it was someone whom he worked a lot, someone not from the original cast. It can't be April since she's not at all a beloved character, her dieing, in any way would be sad, but not major, would not affect the lives of others, has no storyline. Mark dieing would be major and devastating and affecting lives of many, but it's not as tragic and painful as Lexie's. Arizona(or Callie)dieing, that would be the most tragic and devastating death possible, wrong in all levels of wrong, but highly unlikely, since

Between lexie and arizona i think it is more likely for lexie as she is the most interconnected with other people - thatcher, meredith, derek, sloane, alex, jackson, april, cristina and even callie and arizona to a lesser extent.
for arizona of course everone will still be devestated but not on the same scale as with lexie as she is less inter connected. i hope in the future if arizona survives that they develop her relationship with others

@Olivia, the girl's hair is too dark to be Meredith's, so I'm guessing that it's Lexie and Mark just saved her or something like that.

It could also be Derek though, not the arm or something like that, but like them hugging because they need comfort because they can't find Derek, or Lexie's dead, either way I'm going to be crying.

why does anyone want Arizona to die?? she is so awesome and nice and cute!!!
And normally when little plans crash, everyone dies. Maybe a few people survive, on tv shows there is always 1 dead person and the rest are ok.. weird

I agree with the posts that are suggesting Arizona. Because we know Karev is staying, the only way to get him to change his mind is to make him feel responsible. He was supposed to be on the plane, but Arizona took his place because he was leaving Seattle. So he'll associate his leaving with Arizona dying, and he'll stay. Plus if Arizona dies, the hospital will need a new pediatric doctor so they will need Karev. Plus, while I love Arizona & Callie together, I feel that their relationship was in a happy no more storylines kind of place. There was not much more development between them. Whereas the Lexie & Sloan relationship still has places to go. So I love Arizona, but that's my guess on who's leave. HOWEVER, if I have my preference, I would vote that everyone on the plane survive and for Kepner as a surprised twist, because I really do not like her character. But Shondra said it was a "beloved" character, and I'm not sure that Kepner is "beloved".
Callie DOES have a choice, she's not gay, she's bisexual. She's said that many times - she likes men, she likes women. She could have a relationship with either gender. That doesn't make gay people nonexistent, it just means that bisexuals ALSO exist.

OMG IM REALLY SCARED TO WATCH THIS SHOW NOW! this is like freakin scary they are pulling a LOST ( epi. 1) and i think its gonna be darek or lexi, suprised none has said anything about derek :( im like not gonna watch it to scary and im like 14 lol :)

so basically shonda ran out of any other ideas, and she stole a storyline from lost. a plane crash is SO creative. This is why British shows are so much better- they end before the story lines just become repetitive.

If it is Arizona, I hope Sondra doesn't make the mistake of "making Callie straight". The show has come along way to include a married gay couple - it would big mistake to suggest gay people have a "choice" and turn off a lot of viewers who are engaged by teh diversity of the show.

Ellen is staying for 2 more seasons, so Lexie staying to be the spare Grey is not the reason, Shonda said it recently that there's no place Lexie will take Meredith's place.
I think it's Lexie. She's badly injured and it would affect lots of the characters, plus can't see Shonda killing Arizona, she's too proud that she has a lesbian couple on primetime. And Jcap is happy, promoting and live tweeting for the show.

From the spoilers/hints/rumors and studying the promo in pauses and slow motion, it's Lexie, as much as I hate to say it. I've felt it from the moment I read Shonda saying the finale was going to be "bittersweet, painful, and beautiful" for M/L, then that there was going to be someone to die. A three year tortuous cheat for the Slexie fans. Hmph. "Beautiful" because Mark will tell Lexie he loves her, then "painful and bittersweet" because she croaks. Thanks Shonda, thanks for nothing. I should never get into drama shows. They wasted this couple/characters when they could've gotten rid of the lesser ones like Teddy/Jackson/April. It makes me sick but I should expect it, I've been through it before. Drama & conflict is one thing, useless tactics & bitterly disappointing is another. Yes, it's a drama, but it's also supposed to be escapism too.

I think it'll be Arizona. They set things well for her to be the one to die as mentioned by @Shaylie. I think it's also ideal for the actress. She's expecting her third child so it's likely the actress wants an out from the show right now.

Doesn't a PLANE CRASH strike anyone as over-the-top? It is a bit much, and so convenient to keep people at Seattle Grace. Sighhh. As long as they come back next year I guess that it will be fine.
