Awesome ending. House and his sarcasme will be missed on my tuesday schedule, but i will survive. And i also missed Lisa Edelstein {Cuddy} in this episode, a bit sad though. A big reunion isn't a big reunion without her!
Anyways, good Final
House, you will be missed!

The first hour was a throw away. Not needed at all. The second half had two perfect times for the show to end; the building caving in with House in the window or when Wilson went off a the funeral. I thought finally a perfect ending for a show but they had to go back to the MASH ending. grrrr.
Laurie held the show together even with stupid producers and by the way, he is a good singer too. Sings American.
Well done finale. It's true you can't always get what you want, but the hopes and dreams I had of House and Wilson riding off into the sunset together comes as close as possible for me. I've always believed the show revolved around these two and their relationship, and the show has always given them much respect.
The song by Warren Zevon almost instantly brought me to tears. I was fine until that very moment. I dearly love that song, and have admired it, and the singer, for years. What a beautiful, appropriate sentiment. And THAT'S the House I know and love.
Bravo.

Elementary my Dear Watson, the rehashing and analysis is exactly why we loved this show. It was smart-man's tv. No hokey Gray's Anatomy or even ER which I dearly loved. Just complications, puzzles and mysteries with the patients and the characters. Enough of the bashing. I challenge any one of the critics to consistently come up with engaging stories on a weekly and then yearly basis. Did the interest slip? Definitely- eight seasons was too long. But how many of you have been in personal or working relationships that have/had a once-in-a-lifetime click, that once gone, could never be regained? That's life; that was House. Even with its decline in recent years, I am sorry these characters will no longer grace my screen. It wasn't Shakespeare, but it was miles above the average tv fare.

Cameron told House it was okay to choose death as long as it was his choice. The cowardly way was to lie there and let the fire take the choice away from him and even more cowardly was to deny that that's what he was doing.
As you said, all hallucinations were in character (and how great that was). Cameron was the one who accepted House for who he was, and appreciated him for it (as she told Cuddy in season 3's Lines in the Sand, "Why does he have to be like everyone else?").
I had stopped watching a while ago because I wasn't interested in the new team and everything seemed to be repetitive except for Huddy which was a painful mess. But this episode harkened back to the glory days of the show, where there were puzzles to analyze and House was more than a miserable sod.
A great way to end the series, everyone getting what they need. Chase is the new head of diagnostics, Cameron has a family as well as her career, Foreman is running the hospital .... and House and Wilson ri

Once House realized that Foreman and Wilson would not lie, he resorted to a third plan he had no idea would work.
House was breathing heavy oxygen at the beginning of the
episode. That's important because he was planning to fake his death by fire once plan a and b were bust. He originally didn't anticipate having a stand-in corpse.
He saved the patient and did the right thing, but also realized that he would likely overdose shortly. Once the patient left the hospital, House was talking and visiting with him at the abandoned hotel. You might say he cared about helping the person get help, but was really more curious about his outlook on heroin and God. He confided in him about Wilson and his fears, and knew he still needed a fall guy. Why waste a perfectly good corpse?
Realizing John Drug Abuser was beyond hope or repair, he switched his dental records with those of Mr. Crackhead wherever the morgue would access them.

Marta, the way I understand it, earlier in the episode, Foreman had been fussing with that wobbly table in his office while House was there. House even made a comment on it. House did not do anything to the table in front of Foreman, which is why is appears as if he went back and put his ID badge in later to let Foreman know that he was OK. In an interview on the TV Guide site, David Shore confirms that Foreman knew that House was alive.
I thought this was a good finale to wrap up favorite old characters' story arcs. I'm sure Lisa Edelstein's fans are disappointed, but that was HER choice and HER loss.

I didn't catch it until I re-watched the ending to see the long shot of them riding off, but when they start with the close up of House on the bridge, I realized they'd stopped so he could take a piss!!! Funny and very much House, why go behind a tree when you can pee off of a bridge? Maybe it was obvious to others, but I didn't catch the body language until the second time.....

it was ok it wasn't the best I liked seeing Stacy Kurtner and Amber again and that girl who worked with House when thirteen was gone. I wish Thirteen had more lines tho and I wish Cuddy would have came. the last 10 mins was good with seeing Chase with the promotion and Cameron with her hubby and baby. Taub with his daughters all happy and living there lives and House letting Foremen in on House Faking his death by leaving his ID under the table leg that foreman tried to fix earlier that day and House Walked in and Foremen knew House was alive. I liked how Foremen being the head of everything and Chase taking over the team(even tho it's House team even tho I never Liked Parks and that girl) and then House and Wilson spending Wilson's last days riding there bikes

How did Foreman know House was alive just by finding the hospitial id badge and what was the relevance of finding it under the leg?
I haven't watched house for much of this past season, due to reasons that I think we all know. But after watching the series finale, I think they did an okay job with what they were working with. To be honest, this should have been a 2 part finale and sent it off in the right way. I think they only had so much time to work with, that they just left out a lot of key points that some would think were "minor details".
In any event, House and Wilson riding off into the sunset together was perfect; the last line he mutters before he "dies" he says "I can change" and does this wonderful thing for his best friend. I appreciate that no matter how cheesy it was. I would've loved to see Cuddy in as his subconscious though. It would've made sense! This is House though, so you can't always get what you want.
Farewell House! You were, in my belief, one of the best characters that TV has ever seen. Your wit will be missed!

This series was only good for the first three season's. Once they got rid of the original team it turned to crap. Good riddance to bad TV i say. This show way out stayed it's welcome and i am glad that it is off our screens. I was a HUGE FAN, for the first three seasons but then it just became repetitive, boring and a parody of itself.
I am glad it is off the air.

I didn't really enjoy the finale until the very end. I was crying during the funeral and in disbelief that the series would end on such a tragic note. Then Wilson gets that text message. It was like the end of the movie "The Sting" where the audience, as well as some of the characters , got stung. What a wonderful, House-esque, way to end the series! House got the last laugh on us, too. As for going back to prison, as far as everyone else is concerned, House is dead. Unless Foreman turns him in or he gets sloppy, who's to know?

Ever since Wilson was diagnosed with cancer the last season has been rubbish. Gone were all the good parts because even the previously excellent Wilson-House scenes were constantly tempered with mellow-mushy psycho-babble nonsense. Only watched the last episodes to see how it turned out.
Shame really. The show used to be good (except for some of the excessive character development threads, e.g. the whole Cuddy business which was dull). Guess it was time to end when the writers ran dry.

Suzanne, no he didn't set it up ahead of time. When he went back to the hospital he had probably already figured out he could switch the records (though in reality how in hell did he do this so quickly? But House folks haven't been concerned w/details since late Season 7).

I thought it was a perfect ending. Were there holes in the writing, sure but still loved it.
