CJ, it was said at one time that Abby's parents were deaf. Not sure how Gibbs knows signing. Maybe another poster can fill us in on that.

  2. CJ

Does anyone know why Gibbs and Abby both know sign language? Was it ever disclosed on a show?

Whew!!!! Still lots of unanswered questions and mystery to keep us guessing for the next 4 months. Will Ducky live? Poor guy, I'd hate to think that he dies alone on that beach, and can't anyone ever leave this "team" without getting killed for heaven's sake? Was it really a heart attack or was it something else? Were any of the other regulars seriously injured or killed in the bomb blast? Did Jimmy actually get married? (Attention writers: I really think you OWE the fans a REAL wedding!) What the heck did Ryan's husband do that's left her so scared of him? And we STILL haven't gotten the bad guy......how does this guy know so much about everyone, anyway?

I am enjoying reading everyone's comments on last night's show. As for me, I am sure the core cast will survive, but I suspect McGee may be badly injured. Seeing Gibbs trying to protct Abby was so appropriate. She is very dear to him, and is the only one who can bring out the soft side of Gibbs (yes, there is one, LOL). Tony & Ziva taking the elevator was a bit silly - they should have been taking the stairs, but having them stuck in the elevator together alone could make for some interesting moments as Season 10 cranks up, Gibbs will be one more pissed off man. I susspect he will be chasing Dearing all of Season 10. Lastly, I really hope we have seen the last of JLC as the annoying Dr Ryan. Her "brain gamer" antics did nothing to enhance the storyline, and she is sure not a good match for Gibbs. I agree with one of the other posters, the investigator from the Coast Guard would be a much better match - and her character was actually likeable! Can't wait for the new season to start!

My final comments seem to have been cut off. To reiterate, I'm hoping the NCIS writers come up with a strong tenth season with some fantastic crimes for the team to solve.
And, speaking of Ms. Curtis, I'm surprised that no 'bright spark' in Hollywood hasn't tapped JLC to play a Vulcan in the STAR TREK franchise. She would make a great daughter to Spock!

  6. DB

I think Tim is killed in the blast. There has been something wrong with his voice all season long and I think the Actor might be sick. I hope this isn't true, but......... just sayin.....

  7. Lenore Salinger

Some actress like Cheryl Ladd (or Cheryl Ladd herself) should be hired to become Gibb's new love interest. He needs a woman who can be as sweet and tender as his beloved Shannon.
Also, Robert Vaughn should be hired as a guest star involved in some intriguing plots - he and David McCallum together again would be terrific.

Wendi, I think one reason some my find Dr. Ryan irritating is that perpetual smirk on her face - even in the most serious situations. Whether that's how they want Jamie Lee to play the character - or her own interpretation - it is annoying in the extreme. Tony's character may be shallow in some respects - but when it's down to business all that disappears. Perhaps it's the "character's" way of dealing with the stress. As for Ducky, the hints that David may be leaving the show came early this season - and he is, after all, getting on in years. The workload must be fierce.

NCIS has been a consistently fine program. It's a genuine scandal that it has never won a single Emmy Award down through the years. It stands as a testament to the putrid politics that the Hollywood crowd rally around and wallow in. Their snubbing of NCIS for award consideration proves the Emmy folk are ignorant, arrogant, stupid and bigoted.

I hope the NCIS writers pull the whole team 'out of the fire' and get them into fighting shape for the 10th season. I still mourn the loss of Mike Franks and regard that piece of plotting a huge mistake by the writers. Jamie Lee Curtis is a good actress but her character isn't a good fit for Mark Harmon's Gibbs. Gibbs needs another fiery redhead to romance. Whatever happened to the mysterious redheaded woman who he dallied with in the first season? She was just unceremoniously dismissed as a plot point without any explanation or resolution. Whatever, I'm just hoping the writers will come up with a very strong tenth season with some fan

I am not going to quantify my remarks either -- I LOVE NCIS, and in criticizing the finale does in no way take away that --- it is because I love the show that I do. Not every single episode can be OMG THE BEST! I almost feel ...played on by the writers. The one good thing? No more orange walls!

Let's get down to it -- it was a rather boring finale until the last two minutes --- best part? TIVA, eloping talk.. and the explosion. I am sure that Ducky had a stroke or is dead - Jimmy takes over -- and Tim, well he is the one I am most concerned about. I have watched this show since its inception and I adore it --- however was not a fan of last night. PERIOD.

husband was loose, I thought Ryan was a perfect match for Gibbs. Not sure what everyone else considers "right" for him.

For next year, I'd like to see some closure on the whole story of Amsterdam/Paris, Decker's insurance policy, Trent Cort (final villain before concluding NCIS?)

"weren't the windows in Abby's lab replaced a few years ago with bullet proof glass? If so, then how did the windows last night explode???"

Albert, as Abby said before, there's no such thing as bullet proof glass. That's why Gibbs got her bullet RESISTANT glass. And an explosion from high explosive is not a bullet, it's a bomb. Bullet resistant glass does not mean bomb resistant.

And for everyone else, a tip I learned from my soap opera addicted mother, if they renewed their contract, they're not dead or leaving. Patience, albeit one of my own shortcomings, is a virtue.

Personally, I thought JLC's character and her attitude was perfect for Gibbs. She's quirky (aka not perfect, which Gibbs finds boring) and feisty, tough. Apparently for a brain gamer, even her husband frightens her worse than anyone else. And yes, even federal judges can be bought, especially if someone has sufficient leverage. But other than heading for the hills as soon as she heard word that her husb

I have loved this show and thought it was a great end of the season just hate to wait to find out what happends to Ducky and everyone else. I hope everyone comes back. Way to go writers.

McGee will be hurt so bad that his estranged father will come to see him!!! That's hat I'm thinking!!!!!!

NCIS is a great show. We were fearful that the show had come to a total end. Our hearts stopped at the end of last night's show. You've got to keep this show going. It plays on all of ones emotions, but most of all they are family to one another and that what life's all about. The bonds that keep people together. Best tv show in my opinion. Hope to see more of Ryan in future to see how her character plays out. It's nice to see other big stars make guest appearances on the show. Sean Connery would be great from MI6 perspective.

I love the idea of MW as a spy. When he is done with NCIS, I hope he will be approached by producers. A remake of Hart to Hart....travel around the world sleuthing. The Thin Man would be another one. Man from U.N.C.L.E. as a salute to David. If he lost about 30 pounds, he could do a few 007 movies.

We'll have to see if Ducky did have a heart attack, but I'm sure I did. If he doesn't come back I don't think I could watch the show. There is no more wise and loving character on TV. I don't want to see anyone leave, but if one has to go please let it be the irritating Tony. MW may be a good actor but to play such a shallow character for nine years doesn't say much for his choice of roles.

Why so many people hate Dr. Ryan baffles me. She is the best character for Gibbs on so many levels. His respect for her is obvious at all times and if they keep the sex on the down low, well good for them. It's private anyway. As for her leaving with her son why should we think it's cowardice? We know little about her husband except that he's been released from prison and she may fear for her son's life as well as her own. She's pretty much on her own and has to protect them both from someone who may be a killer or pervert.

I hope we get some spoilers soon about next season, the sus

I love NCIS, and all the characters in play with the exception of Ryan. Each character Gibbs,Tony,Abbey,Vance,Ducky,Palmer,Ziva, and Magee are exceptional in what they do to compliment each other and the team. I was sad to see Franks leave, but glad when the character of Jenny and Kate left. The plots and cast are great, and leave you wanting more each week!!! I can't wait to see what really happens when the show returns later this year. People are wondering who's dead, but just maybe NOONE is!!!!

I hope the Ducky contract extension wasn't a head fake. With the loss of Gibbs old senior partner and the old director, he's running out of folks who knew the young Gibbs.

Those windows in Abby's lab have always seemed a threat to her security and safety. I hope no one paid the price.

JLC is disturbing and yet it is nice to see a woman evenly matched with him. I just hope she isn't one of the bad guys!

And is it just me or does it seem like all my dramas have been turned on their heads by unresolved or career ending finales?

It's one thing to have one team or hero fail, but all my "go to" folks seem to be frustratingly fallible this season end. Enjoy! (If you can.)

  22. GUEST

I have to agree i love Ducky and his stories and do not want him to die, JLC just needs to go and the writers need to listen this season 10, people do not want her back

  23. ValS

Still not convinced Ryan is not a bad guy in all this.

  24. ValS

    Part 2:

Ryan is now trembling with fear and bolts because Dearing pulled some strings to get her ex-husband out of prison. But we have no history about her or her ex, and why he is in prison. Plus, we have no real history on Dearing and why he is able to pull these strings. Did he know the judge, or is anyone with a really fat wallet able to buy off a judge?

And what about the fact that they get a known crazed assassin out of prison and make a deal with him to go after Dearing, the old Gibbs would have never made that deal; and he all of a sudden became a good guy and attempts to save Gibbs’ team.

I don’t even want to talk about Ducky, which was heartbreaking. I cannot believe nor do I want to believe that he will be the ghost of Ducky, and that Palmer will be taking over for him. The whole wedding thing was just a poorly written after thought. Why was Ducky at the wedding and not Abby (the best man), it was not like she was doing anything to help catch Dearing either.

  25. ValS

    Part 1:

Did I call it or what! Ryan and her damsel in distress look to Gibbs and now he will have to save the woman he loves so that they can become a family.

What is up with the Horrible writing; Tony and Ziva, making everyone else in the building use the stairs to evacuate but the two of them use the Elevator?!? Stupid, Stupid, Stupid…

The whole exchange between Ryan and Dearing; then Gibbs runs to use the pentagon phone to call McGee so he can trace the call, but when Ryan finds out her son is in danger; Gibbs just stands there and looks at her. He does nothing to call his team to get the boy, or even like he would have in the past run to the boys’ aid and go after Dearing.
