And more... remember the evacuation when Tony got the plague? That went fast and smooth and everyone followed protocol and got out right away. Tony and Ziva should have never never been in an elevator and neither Tim or Abby would be gathering up last minute tech stuff and still be hanging around.

There was a cartoon in the New Yorker when X Files implied that Mulder had shot himself at the end of a season. A shrink tells a man on his couch who is all in tears, "Sir" the shrink says, "Mulder is a character on a TV show," The patient continues to cry anyway.

All I hope is that Jamie Lee Custis dont come back. She doesnt belong

Haven't watched this in ages but heard they were getting rid of one of the leads. Hoping it would be the dippy black haired gal with pig tails I tried it again. My mistake. Still have her and still trying to outgroce everyone else. Someone let me know if they keep D. Mc. He is not a great actor but has hung in for a long time. Still miss Man From UNCLE. How is Vaughns show doing in England?

One thing bothered me about last night...weren't the windows in Abby's lab replaced a few years ago with bullet proof glass? If so, then how did the windows last night explode???
Please keep this cast together....I cannot imagine NCIS going on for any length of time without any of the main characters....please, no "shark-jumping"!!
I also agree the Sean Murray has lost a lot of weight nad his voice does sound different...I think it is from his own personal desire to lose weight, not from any disease...
And, didn't all of the cast memebers sign long term contracts last year??? That needs to be looked into.....
Long live NCIS with All of it's main cast intact!!!!! Should have Rule #52: All NCIS main cast memeber can never die!

Arrrrrgh! David McCallum and the supposed new 2 year contract a red herring? He better live or I'll be very iffy about watching the show anymore. Blowing up the NCIS building is major, if home grown, terrorism. There is no way Dearing survives more than the opening episode of next season. I have a headache because of this season finale, I understand drama and cliffhangers, but this was too much. NCIS is the team and at this point I'm not sure the loss of characters is acceptable, at least to me.

    Loop hole:

How is it the Director's car was not striped thoroughly, therefore, finding the bomb before?

Why was the evacuation at NCIS so disorganised?

    Re: Dr Samantha Ryan

I love Dr Ryan and Gibbs, but I also wonder if she is not playing Gibbs. Contrary to what Gibbs suggested by saying that Dearing targeted her because she would figure out his next move, I don't see it. They were all lost, including the brain gamer.

Also, it appeared to me that she admired Dearing's ability to exploit the weaknesses in people, that is, his brain gaming ability. This leaves me to wonder if she is not the puppet master.

    Theory:

Is this a big test for Gibbs and his team? Is this Sec Nav's way of determining NCIS' vulnerabilities/weaknesses?

So the goth is bad??? what is your problem? Can't live outside the box? I hope all cast members come back. I love them all! It sure was a cliff hanger and I screamed at the end when the car blew! I hope that Jaimey Lee Curtis never comes back. She's the weakest link. And I think knows more than she's telling.

  8. Mel

I hope everyone survives. I could go with Ryan and Vance but I love the rest.

Thank you Michael for your answer, would like to see how season 10 panned out, maybe 1 more season after 10, but I take your point 10 seems to be the magic number where series ends, Now Can anyone reassure me That Michael Weatherly will sign his new contract and he is not dead in the lift and since I am new on this site what do all good people do while NCIS is off the air, do you still write comments

  10. Pat

Hopefully it will be Abby who dies, this program has got weaker over the years, and she is definitely the weakest link. Won't be worth watching if Ducky dies, but a vast improvement if Abby does.

This is going to be one very long summer. My hope is that all of the cast return for the next season. The show was excellent, as usual.

i am hoping we do not have to endure jlc on season 10, last season was enough to make you sick, i don't want any of the regular cast killed, they all play a perfect role in the team, even vance, i especially love ducky and his stories, and mcgee being a geek, and abby's goth ways, and gibbs being so investigative. JLC took that away from the team, so i am hoping we do not have to endure it again

  13. Al From Maine

OK, the only one I am fairly sure survived is our favorite autopsy gremlin. I say that because if he had gone back to Washington Ducky would be with him. As for the rest of the team it is anybodies guess who lived or died. David McCallum signing a contract may be a red herring, maybe he decided to retire. So we have to wait till September to find out who is left. I am fairly certain Gibbs will live but as for rest... this show has no problem killing great characters off, ie Mike Franks, Jenny and the rest.

This whole season finale season is being brutal. NCIS being blown to kingdom come and so many characters in question, Bones on the lamb for murder, Kono being dump in the ocean and I shiver to think where Grimm, Criminal Minds or Person of Interest will go!

  14. Carol Dresser

NCIS is one of several shows that I watch faithfully each week. One of the main reasons I like it is the wonderful development of characters, and the ways in which they interact. None of them is perfect, but all are professional and committed not only to the job but to one another. If you watch each week over a period of years, you can't help but get pulled in and attached.

I could literally have thrown up at the end of last night's episode. I was that upset at the thought that any one of the main characters would be killed off. I love them all.

I watched Kate take a bullet between the eyes. I saw Jenny ambushed and massacred. I saw Mike Franks slain in the darkness and pouring rain. Now this? I'm not sure I can continue to watch a show where, on any given night, another one of the main characters could be violently blown away. Real life is tough enough without having t endure this!

Ducky will be just fine - probably just fainted due to the shock of what he just heard on the phone (I wonder who called him - Vance?). I TOTALLY agree about the writing - it was ALMOST just as bad as Pyramid, which was a Monumental Disaster to sooo many NCIS fans worldwide. Glasberg is NOT a good writer of important eps; he should leave the scripting to others & just focus on running things (which he's not very good at either). I feel for this cast too; they are FAR more talented than Glasberg allows them to be; he is stifling their creativity, especially MW's and CdP's. This finale lef much to be desired. I agree w/ all who say McGee got injured the worst (LUV Timmy!). But I don't think any of the main cast will die. If even one does - NCIS is Dead also. The cast is too important to the show's overall success. I also think Ryan will be back briefly - unfortunately. Plus someone pointed out that she knows Monique, and Lombard is returning next season.

Aycliffe I really do think Season 10 should be it I know that sound harsh but there only so many times we can see a marine get killed find out its a family memeber who killed him for money.

I think season 10 should end with Tony(if he still alive) going to LA to take over NCIS LA Gibbs becoming Mike Frank type of role Mcgee and Ziva taken over the team(since that seems to be how they are going)

  17. Jeff Foster

For some reason this would not let me post my entire post at one time. The previous post was also from me and is a continuation of the one before.

Even if Ducky does survive, as I'm sure he will, he'll need some time off. I think this will give Jimmy the perfect opportunity to step up and be the leader of the team ... unless maybe that ME that Ducky "gave a piece of his mind" to comes in for a temp thing. But I hope that Jimmy takes over. It's about time. He seems qualified enough. It will be an opportunity for Ducky to see that if he wants to retire, he will leave the Autopsy bay in good hands.

As for Tim, yes, it looks like he will likely wind up in ICU for a while. And while I'd like to think that maybe this would help Tony and Ziva draw closer, there's always Gibbs's rule about co-workers dating. And while Gibbs might make an exception for Tim and Abby, as they don't work together all day long, Tony and Ziva do work together and I don't think Gibbs would like them dating.

BTW, Is it just my hearing or has Sean Murray's voice changed as he lost weight?

I am sure Jimmy Palmer is dead. All the attention on him and his wedding was a set up to really heighten the loss. The title "Til Death Do Us Part" strongly suggests this, as well. Think about it: Jimmy convincing his bride to delay their wedding (and she actually agreed, however unrealistic that would ever be) so he could return to NCIS to help with the Dearing case, and then they got married on their own, just the two of them. So, now a married man, he returns to NCIS. No one realizes he's there, the bomb goes off, and WHAM, Jimmy buys it because he didn't get evacuated, or at least not in time. A wonderfully tragic end to his character. And, learning it was Jimmy, who Ducky had made very clear was indeed a loved one, is what triggered Ducky's collapse on the beach (unclear if it was a heart attack, or if he was just overcome with emotion and passed out). It all adds up. All the major players survive, perhaps injured or shook up but basically OK (physically). Next season w

not have the time to be on a full-time series.

Do I want to see any of them leave? No. But, it happens sometimes when a series is around as long as NCIS has been. Look at ER. Fifteen seasons and not one original cast member remained with the show for the entire run.

  21. Jeff Foster

Sometimes the Producers have no control over which characters leave and which ones stay. Sometimes it is the actors themselves who choose to leave. That being said, I read an interview with the Executive Producer Gary Glasburg where it was mentioned that only 3 are unsigned for season 10 - Michael Weatherly (Tony), Pauly Perrette (Abby), and Sean Murray (McGee). If anyone was killed off, it will come from that group. David McCallum signed his contract after the season finale was filmed so it is a safe bet that he will return. I would not be surprised if the writers use the heart attack angle as an excuse to get Palmer more involved in cases. They have have him take some of the workload off of Ducky.

I would not be surprised if Tony and Abby do not return. Michael Weatherly supposedly said a couple of months back that he would not be back for season 10, though I have not been able to confirm that, and Pauly Perrette is becoming more and more of a political activist these days and may

  22. Richard

I still think Ryan is involved. How opportune that Dearing calls just when Gibbs is visiting Ryan. She and Dearing have a connection. I don't believe any of the core cast will die. As one viewer wrote, you don't sign a two year contract to play a ghost. I like Jamie Lee Curtis, but not on this show.

  23. student of trivia

For sure there will be some repercussions (pun not intended) to the blast. But also a lot of questions. Why are Tony and Ziva in an elevator, not protocol in an evacuation. Why change the wedding time, the guests are arriving and it doesn't make sense to do a quickie and leave, the writers had to really be at an impasse, and why since the blast happened even before they could return, and now Duckie will be found in time I suppose since he signed a contract for 2 more years, so the will was just another red herring.Tony regifting a movie as a wedding gift was so lame and even for him, please give him some brains. Since the show will be back next year, there will be the return of the major players, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

This may have already mentioned, I have not read all the comments on this thread....

I think Jimmy may be the one lost last night. He told Brina he wanted to go and be with his family. No one knew to call him and warn him of what was going on. After seeing Ducky on the beach I bawled like a baby, but then I started wondering where Jimmy was.

I wish we would not lose any of them.

What a GREAT way to end the season, messy though it was. Dearing's "vengeful father" is a bit over-the-top considering his precious baby boy was re-assigned to the doomed ship AFTER he pulled a fratboy prank on another ship--had he behaved himself, none o' this woulda happened, but that's academic I guess.

I'm with other posters viz a viz:

    1. Tiva's collective brain doesn't know that you USE THE STAIRS TO EVACUATE A BUILDING?!?!?!?!!?!?

    2. I will NOT watch Ducky's ghost play guardian angel to the team for the next 2 years. I'm gone if that happens.

As for where I disagree, leave Tim alone. So the guy's dropping weight and isn't the cherub-faced awkward geek he used to be--DEAL WITH IT!!!!
