The writting was perfect the acting was perferct I love Gary he is doing such better job then the last guy I mean the story a team base not one character base AND he got tony back all thanks to Gary.
Its just sad that we get Tony back and now he might be losing him I hope MW geta deal like Paget from CM but if he wanted to be killed off I understand

I am hoping none of the team gets killed they are all a major part now ryan and her son her acted just like her way too smug i hope we seen the last of her. Love Ducky, hope Jimmy saves him
Ducky has to be OK. Palmer is good but the Autopsy wouldn't be the same w/o him. Who would Gibbs turn to with his problems. He goes to Ducky .
And the rest of the TEAM needs to be OK ALSO. IT WOULDN'T BE THE SAME W/O ANY OF THEM. THEY ALL HAVE THE RIGHT MIX THAT MAKES THE SHOW SO GOOD.
And the Dr. I think she still knew more than what she told Gibbs. Especially with her leaving. Before she was so to the fight. Now she was just giving up and leaving. As much as I dont like/trust her. I have a feeling she will be back fora couple of episodes.

@Mel: In addition, no one is really sure that Sean Murray is particularly HEALTHY, so its very possible that his character could be killed off. McGee did seem to take the biggest hit of anyone in the explosion. We'll see...

Definantly hope David's contract renewal isn't a red herring. But doubt it. I think it was probs filmed or very least written before he renewed. However worried about McGee. Can't imagine they will kill him but no contract renewal yet so crossing fingers and toes. Also scary thought Dornaget being breed as a replacement for McGee? Anyone remember Vance's introduction for 4 weeks prior to killing Jenny.
Also note to writers no need to kill off people what happened to the good old retirement or transfer. Now i know it isnt as dramatif but lets take a note out of law and orders book. SVU DA leaves comes back. Leaves again returns again. Stabler (main male lead) transfers. In Criminal intent both main leads leave. One season later they're back.
Well there's my rant. Hopefully we get all renewals and NO deaths. Oh also agreed dr Ryan. Not a fan. Something very sus there.

If one more character "dies" that's it! I will not be watching anymore! The team has just the right chemistry and it makes the show. Please bring Ducky back; keep Palmer and all the rest. Love the show, love the characters, could use better writing.

Wow, the whole Ducky collapsing thing was a shocker, I hope he pulls through to the next season considering. But, I did call it! In regards to the Gibbs and Ryan, Oh, Please help my family thing. He will come running to her aid and risk his own life; so sad. We have not seen the last of her. I know that David Mccallum signed a new two year contract for CBS, I so hope that is not as the ghost of Ducky. And what about the “autopsy gremlin” upped his wedding so that he could come back and help his family? Gibbs running into Abby’s lab and McGee taking a huge hit from the explosion. I really do not want anything happening to Ducky or the rest of the cast. I am glad that Ryan is a good guy in a-way; however, I know that she will be back next season. I like her character as a psychiatrist but as Gibbs’ lover that kiss was so nasty and awkward I almost upchucked my dinner. I cannot wait till next season. BTW! Way was NCIS LA: two hour? So not fair.

(Cont'd) Does this guy NOT trust his audience to know certain things should not be enscripted? I felt so cheated for the majority of this ep. I certainly hope Steve is right about Ryan - I don't wish to see her again, but I have a feeling we're not done w/ her. David M. just signed a brand new contract, so Ducky will be fine...but it made no sense to have him on a beachfront alone at the end. I mean, Palmer wasn't getting married at that point - and where was Palmer's "Best Man"??? Still strolling around her lab with Bert while the REST of the team is already evacuating? Ridiculous.

@Melissa F Hi! I think you & I felt the same way. What a mess of a finale. I love this cast so much, but can't stand the lack of talent & direction from the showrunner. Glasberg always tries to "take" the important eps (i.e: the 200th, Pyramid) to make himself look good, but he STINKS at writing them. This cast is suffering under his leadership & it really shows. I sat there for the majority of this ep waiting for the "blow me away" moment. It never came. Even the much-hyped, final minutes were off. Don't trained agents know to NEVER evacuate via an ELEVATOR?? Come ON

My opinion there are killing off Palmer's character, they were filling up loose ends in that episode for example he said he had to go back to work, and ONLY ducky disobeyed orders to see him. Hence his characters death will be a huge suprise huge RIPPLE, but utiminately he would be greatly missed, but the core characters are still there... HMMMM any thoughts?

I loved this episode... The plot was all over the episode but in the midst of the confusion you somehow knew that there's gonna be a suspense-filled and spellbinding ending. The last 2 minutes were really something that made me hold on to my seat! I like the fact Jonathan Cole's character bowed out in good grace. I like that Tiva were together during the explosion and that Gibbs, ever so protective of Abby, was there to shield her from harm. But I really hope that McGee would be okay inspite of the dangerous exposure he would be expected to have experienced with that explosion. I don't think I could cope with Abby getting so upset if something happened to Tim. So much more if she'd lose Ducky. With that I really appeal to the directors, producers and writers-- DON'T KILL DUCKY'S CHARACTER. I fear that all the other characters wouldn't retain their respective personas ever again if they'd lose Ducky. WE LOVE THE TEAM AS IT IS HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES! PLEASE KEEP THE NCIS CAST INTACT FOR

Ryan's "abrupt departure" was a little too convenient and seemed contrived. She was by no means chickenshit and her son was very well-protected, so why should she suddenly lose her nerve and bolt? It doesn't make sense and I don't think we've seen the last of her.

Tony wedding gift was cheep but Palmer loved anyways. the last few mins I was in shock with Abby and Gibbs in Abby's Lab with Gibbs protect her. McGee getting glass at face and head I hope he just injured and Tony and Ziva in the elevator and stuff falling on them then I was OK Ducky gets the call am like we find out dies then hes talking about don't touch the bodies then he falls on the sand I was in shocked. I think Ducky will be ok I think Palmer and Brena will save him. now the rest am not sure about I hope the all live,
@the dude ... Kate was killed off because the actress wanted off the show. She wanted to devote more time to her family. David McCallum just signed on for two more years...I think they are just going to have his character deal with the struggles of recovering from a heart attack next season. I honestly don't think they would kill off any of the characters unless the actor themselves wanted off. And in everything I have read or seen the actors on this show love it and each other and I don't see any of them leaving...

This is my favourite show on any channel! It has to be back with all of our main people, it is too good not to keep going for many more seasons.

I honestly thought that when they killed off Kate I wouldn't watch the show any longer, I was upset when they split the team up, Tony as an Agent a float, McGee in the basement with the Crypto guys, and Ziva back in Israel, and thought it was going to fall apart. The writers know what they are doing and if someone falls, someone will step up in a big way to fill that role. Ducky may parish however, if he does, Jimmie will always keep him around to help him out with cases. He may eventually just disappear like Kate did during Season 3. It will definitely be a long awaited season 10 for myself and cannot wait to see what awesomeness is coming in the future. The wedding talk between Ziva and Tony seemed very interesting as they have had that interest for a while as well as many people tell them, there is something there, or not to fall prey to their career and have what they didn't. It will be interesting to see what happens in the Dr. Ryan situation and what Gibbs answer back to the most

They really got me with Ducky!!! I don't know what to think, but I turned off the sound for the finale of NCIS:LA because I didn't want another heart attack on my part!
EW posted this question and answer about David McCallum (Ducky)on May 11th...
I know David McCallum just extended his contract with NCIS. Can we assume he’s safe in the season finale? — Carolyn
I’d say it’s a safe bet, but as EP Gary Glasberg told me, it doesn’t mean Ducky won’t face a whole other set of challenges in the season closer and beyond. “The fact that [McCallum] is committed to continuing on the show is wonderful for us, but it’s not going to keep us from trying things and surprising people. That’s true of any of the characters on the show,” he says. “We’re always interested in keeping things challenging and entertaining for them as actors, and we’re going to continue to push the envelope for them so they can continue to do some phenomenal work.”

NO NEED TO KILL OF CHARACTERS. IT SHOULD BE A RARE OCCURRENCE, NOT A COMMON ONE. THAT'S REALISM. Please don't kill off Ducky or any of the mains - it's great the way it is!!!!! The writers are good enough to handle it all!!!! Cliffhangers make me think the creators don't have faith in their product. LIKE WE WON'T WATCH NEXT SEASON? REALLY?

May 16th, 2012 12:24 AM
I think the ducky situation is more that at the time the show wasn't sure if david would be willing to come back and renew due to his age. I don't think the contract extension is a red herring but rather a sign that he will be back. That isn't to say that ducky retires on the show and palmer takes over with the occational drop in from ducky.

As usual, the show was great; however, the cliffhanger again is going to make my summer verrrrrry long! It is my hope that Ducky will be found by Jimmie just in time, give him CPR, get him to the hospital and he recovers with the gusto to get back to work and help others. Meanwhile the "TEAM" gathers together with all in fair health....no deaths! This gives CBS the opportunity to bring on the new and up dated technical knowledge we have with a better NCIS office. Go TEAM!!!!!
I agree that Tony's gift made him look a little cheap, but maybe he's broke! I know I would be if I was buying the kind of suits he wears with the salary he pulls down with NCIS pay rates!

An outstanding finale, leaving more loose threads than ever. Gibbs and Abby survive because the bullet proof glass Gibbs installed in Abby's lab turns to powder minimizing the glass schrapnel. TIVO are safe in the elevator. McGee is badly wounded, how bad is to see. Ducky, well, lose him and NCIS may lose me, too. But the tide was coming in, and if he doesn't drown the cold ocean will chill him enough to give him a chance - learned that on The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Dr. Ryan conveniently cleared out and I still do not trust her since the writers have given me enough to doubt her with her misjudgements and misdirections, and there are more connections with Dearing...or not. As for Vance who knows. But Gibbs, I suspect that the attack on his NCIS family will fire a rage not seen since Mexico. I will see you in September.
