1: jane could have easily imagined the whole thing. showing us what he imagined rather than what he did as red john is entirely plausible.
2:first of all you said in your 4th one he has accomplices. jne could have told an accomplice to kill him while he stays in california.(all things in boldarnt proven by the show just connections i noticed) ALSO renfew could be missing a few letters and the "is" could be 15. in which case i would suspect he was trying to write "the 15 mark" looking this up leads to something about mark 15 in the bible which is the beguining of jesus's trial and crucification. now idk if that was a purposful connection, BUT to mean it probubly is ment to signify either the destruction of RJ or JP. one of them representing jesus.
3:could easily have an acomplice as a forefront so that your other half thinks that hes not him the the first place (if that makes sense)
4: agian, he could be making things up in his mind, and only showing us what

I believe that Red John could be ,Brett Stailes,DIR. Bertn, Peter mecksbern(rich guy),LL Laroche and One Episode we have seen a British guy I forgot his name, these all are my suspects. If Red john kills Patrick Janes Family why could he be his enemy It's impossible, If it's so whole story goes blind.

I mean how he can talk to himself and like Jane's accomplice is talking to jane and sending him a message from Jane! How?

men's house (I don't remember his name) who have been already warned by Patrick Jane from Red John, and he keep saying that Red John is a good man bla bla bla .. Jane and the team arrived to his house and they found him killed and that smile face of Red John in the wall, Jane sits with Lisobn, and a mobile ringing, when jane answered there's like-evil laugh. It's likely red jhon! So how he can call himself ?
4: Red John have accomplices, right? And one of them Rebecca (Agent Bosco's secretary), she already met Jane in the interrogation room and talked to him like sending him a message from Red John, also when she killed by red john (likely) Jane was upstairs with the team!. And the second one is Lorelei Martins, (season 4 finale) when they were sitting together she told him a message from Red John, and when they met each other in the car, Red John was talking to Jane and Lorelei was already there!! So how could Jane be Red John now? It's impossible ha? I mean how he can talk to himse

Everyone who's saying that Red John is Patrick Jane, I'd say that this theory is impossible, Because:
1: If (as the people say) Patrick Jane is suffering from schizophrenia (split personality) and he could be Red John, then how do we explain the second season finale “Red Sky In The Morning”? This episode shows the first time Patrick Jane and Red John actually come face-to-face, and Red John cites a few lines from William Blake’s poem “The Tyger”.
2: It's impossible because Red John killed Renfrew in Mexico while Jane was still in California. Renfew, who knew Red John’s identity, supposedly, wrote on the wall in blood: “He is Mar.” Why not write “he is you” or “he is Jane?
3: One episode I don't actually remember which one it is, anyway, Jane and the team went to a men's house (I don't remember his name) who have been already warned by Patrick Jane from Red John, and he keep saying that Red John is a good man bla bla bla .. Jane and the team arrived to his hou

I think it's LaRoche. I've thought that ever since his slimy face showed up at CBI. The only problem with all the theories so far (including mine) is that there are a few descriptions of RJ and Christina Fry, Darcy and LaRoche don't fit them :(
If Red John IS someone we've met, I would guess Kristina Frye - her last conversation in the interrogation room with Patrick, where the "spirit" of Kristina Frye said she was dead, could mean that the Red John side of her had finally taken her over completely and "killed" Kristina...alternately, lacking any "split personality" option, getting herself put away in an out-of-the-way asylum where any number of her "disciples" could contact her, do her bidding or even get her out from time to time would be very easy to do.
After all, in a number of shows where Patrick meets killers or others whose situation parallels his own loss, he always asks them "was it worth it" or gets a perspective from them on the lack of satisfaction in their revenge, and is always shown to be carefully considering their answer. I think this kind of evolution of attitude, in a sense growing "beyond" Red John, is what will enrage Red John enough to make the fatal error that will nail him - not because of a devious "long con" by Patrick, but almost unintentionally because of who Patrick Jane has become through his experiences at the CBI. If Red John IS someone we've met, I would guess Kristina Frye - her last conversation in the interrogation room with Patrick, where the "spirit" of Kristina Frye said she was dead, could mean that the Red John side of her had finally taken her over completely and "killed" Kristina...alternately, lacking any "split personality" option, getting herself put away in an out-of-the-way asylum where any
I've never got the impression that the show is structured like an Agatha Christie or Ellery Queen whodunit, but so many people seem to treat the "Who Is Red John" question as the key puzzle to the show, and are sure he is someone we've already seen. I think some of the clues in the end will turn out to be valid, but many will turn out to be red herrings, and when the writers decide who Red John is, they just have to pick and choose from the crumbs they've already laid down and just make sure they don't contradict too much of what has already been presented. I think the revelation will turn out to be of little importance, and will not be anyone we've met up to now (perhaps with one exception). I think if the show has an overall arc, it is Patrick's personal character evolution, growing beyond his obsessive need for revenge and reclaiming his life. After all, in a number of shows where Patrick meets killers or others whose situation parallels his own loss, he always asks them "was it wor

I saw the end of Season 3 and had heard just enough about The Mentalist that the finale captivated me and I watched Season 4 from the beginning. I mention that because I may be confused a bit by watching older episodes out of order, etc. but I am leaning towards Christina Frey or the blind woman Rosalind. They both have things about them that could convince me they could be the one. I also think the idea of many Red Johns is very plausible and that cult type organization could very well be where they are manufactured. Don't want to see any more of PJ's dark side but we are being promised that for this new season. I love the show because of PJ and his delightfully devious yet fun-loving side and he has already gotten to where he is turning into a killer. Please don't let that happen writers. The show IS about murder yes but the name of the show is The Mentalist so the featured character is PJ. And, quite the character he is too. That being said, no one (I don't think) wants to

I think it would be cool if it were Lisbon. She and Jane get together, she breaks through to his hard heart, they hook up and the final episode is a hug twist. What better way for Red John to "win" than to make him believe he has found someone to love again. :-)

This show is awesome! Here is my own theory.Patrick Jane is Red John ,Like they said 'Red John is many '.He probably killed people who found out he was a cheat and when his wife found out about him being a fake and a murderer he decided to silence her or his disciples did.Patrick has disciples and since he can hypnotize he hypnotizes his followers not to say anything when they are caught. He realised the CBI was getting closer to him so he had to create the idea of killing a' Red John' so the cops would get off his track. All was well till darcy so he had to leave so he could organise his followers. As there was an fbi informant informing him he knew darcy was close

RJ --PJ
How about a slight twist in the split personality idea. The good twin evil twin plot. There is very little info about PJ family.
PJ could not even know he had a twin.Evil twin RJ could have been jealous of PJ and his family
As twins they would appear the same and evil twin RJ could fool people into thinking that he was PJ and hypnotize them on an as needed basis and not need or have a big organization or cult. For example McLaughlin(sp?)could have come to the CBI clean and evil twin RJ could have approached him as PJ and put him under his control
Oh and evil twin was raised in Australia ;-)
Pretty hokey I know but play with it a while.
