I love the Vampire diaries. But this season finale? not so much. The only scene that stood out for me at ALL was Damon telling Elena what she wanted- and when he said, "I want you to get everything you're looking for." He was charming and cute and everything season 1 Damon was. It was believable. Elena as a vampire? did NOT see that coming. Do not think she knew. Did not believe it for a good minute. DID believe they might actually....kill her off but i think it was actually a very smart move. S3 proved how the show had REALLY begun to drag so vampire Elena freshens it up when it desperately needed freshening. At this point, either Damon, nor Stefan would have been that refreshing a choice for Elena to make. And i STILL think Elena hasn't let damon in enough to have chosen him. Stefan is still that obsession she has- she can't let go of safety in so much mayhem. That makes sense. Elena needs to feel liberated and strong before she can choose Damon. They need more time. Is it weird that Damon, in his flashback, seems a little too nice for Season 1 Damon? And, he seemed pretty accepting that Elena was Katherine but looked like her twin…
I don't think it's weird. The explanation I find for myself is, season 1 Damon was 'bad' because he wanted to make Stefan miserable/he wanted his brother/his aim was to get Katherine out of the tomb, and along the way he fell for Elena. And I think he was shocked instead of accepting, but controlled himself from letting Elena sense anything if you get what I mean.

So Elena wakes up as a vampire and remembers all that has happened between her and Damon? It does not mean that she will fall into his arms and say she loved him all along since the night they had a 3 min conversation...People, get real. Its JP's way of creating more fuss around this "triangle" because they finally realized the can't keep going in circles with Damon pining for Elena who loves Stefan and has unresolved feelings for Damon. Just because she will remember all that it does not automatically mean she will forget all her feelings for Stefan, it will simply mean that if the triangle will start developing as it should have all along, not 2 seasons later.

The show lost me on this one. Bored with Stefan, Klaus, and Eloric - disgusted with Elena, there's gotta be something better out there to spend my hour a week on. And I agree with all the other comments about the season finale seeming to be disjointed, nonsensical, and worthless. BTW - what's with it with all these stupid flashbacks anyway? Seems everyone of my favorite shows punted at the end of the season by spending most of the time making up the past instead of coming up with new material. Just plain lazy - and also boring.

I don't mind who Elena ends up with since I'm team Salvatore but all this nonsense where fans let themselves be blinded to fact due to ship preference really grates me. She was not compelled to love Stefan. They shared a connection and she fell in love with him. Plain as that. Damon compelled her to forget the conversation they had (slightly OOC for S1 Damon) and that he hoped and wanted her to get everything she wanted. He didn't say love my brother, find that with my brother nor did his compulsion in any impact the Stefan/Elena meeting. Don't take something away from a couple who saved each other emotionally to bolster the other. Both couples have their own connection.

Let's cut to the chase...Steffie is a wuss...safe and boring, just like Elena who chose him. Both of them are seriously in need of personality upgrades.
I think Elena's going to spend a great deal of the beginning of Season 4 being angry. And I don't think Stefan is going to be able to stay with her...not because they are both vampires and it changes their love or anything, but because he will blame himself for aiding in giving her this life she didn’t want (by honoring her choice like always does) and he will not be able to face her. Plus, he had the whole protector thing with her and now that she won't need that. We are so in for self-loathing Stefan….
I actually think that Elena, at some point in Season 4, will gravitate toward Damon now that she is a vampire but he won't be quite so receptive now that she chose Stefan in Damon's dying moments.
As an aside, I wonder if it’s Damon’s blood that Meredith used to heal Elena. It would put her in their bloodline so it would be fitting…..
And, the whole Klaus/Tyler thing...they've got to clear up some details because I am sort of confused by how it all went down.
Also,
I wasn't happy with Elena’s choice, I ship Delena, but I think it was a good choice from a writing standpoint. Stefan is the boy the teenage girl Elena loves…the one that provides stability, and that was there for her every time she needed him to be there. Damon is a darker choice, a consuming, dangerous and much more risky love.
Now that she is going to be a vampire, it’s likely the writers can have her re-think this decision as she will have the dark edge that comes with being a vampire and can begin to think about who she would want "always" instead of just “right now” . This will keep the triangle front and center which, despite what other fans gripe, is my FAVORITE element of the show.
I also think Elena is going to struggle with her choice to be a vampire. I mean, we know she'll do it, but she didn't want it. I wonder if Damon will force feed her blood or something? Though I hope not, as he did that once before the sun/moon curse thing and she almost didn’t fo
There is no doubt in my mind that Elena will complete the change or else, you know, end show. But I am not so sure she'll remain with Stefan. I think she will be confused when she remembers the times she was compelled by Damon...the things he said. I think she will be resentful that she is a vampire, but I am not quite sure she'll blame Stefan for that as it was her request he save Matt....but for sure Stefan will be blaming himself.
As Elena dies so does Alaric….and what is happening registers with Damon. This is when my heart truly breaks. I think this was one of Ian's best episodes, I do. He really just made me FEEL every emotion Damon was feeling...right to my core.
Choked up when the ghost of actual Alaric visits Jeremy. Though, usually Jeremy can recognize ghost from human fairly quickly, so maybe it was some denial over what Alaric being a ghost means? BTW, this is the one time that I actually didn't mind the whole ghost thing.... Jeremy’s face when he realizes that Elena is dead…..how is he going to feel when he realizes she is a vampire?!?!
In the hospital morgue, Stefan stares tragically at Elena. I really don’t think he knew that she had vampire blood in her system. Meredith said that she didn't let anyone know she used vamp blood to help the brain bleed, as she thought it would put Elena at risk for the OVs to have MORE reason to kill her. The sadness on Paul's face….boy can he
At the car crash, we see the first time Stefan saved Elena. I loved the confusion on his face when he saw Elena and her resemblance to Katherine! It was obvious he knew it wasn't Katherine, as she wouldn't be drowning, but he seems so....bewildered....
I don't like the rest of this scene. I get why it's important to the story that Stefan saves Matt and not Elena. I understand that he is the brother that lets Elena make her own choices, and that he knew Elena would hate him if she was alive and Matt wasn’t. But, Damon would have saved her and lived with her anger over Matt's death. This, ultimately, is why I think Elena needs to choose Damon. Her survival clearly depends on it. And it's sort of self-less for him to put his concern over how Elena will feel about him aside to make sure Elena lives.
Back to the staking of the original, was Tyler was in Klaus's body when he burned up? Was it that moment that Klaus jumped bodies into Tyler's? And, was Tyler in there or are they sort of co-habitating Tyler's body? The one thing that's possible is that Klaus' body didn't really BURN burn. Just that the stake burned up. And...wait...wasn't the stake NOT supposed to burn because of the witchy juju ring thing?

Oh my heart...this scene broke it into a million little pieces...I felt for Damon...I felt the fear of the answer, the lump in his throat as he waited to hear her response...just...well-done, Ian, well-done.
And then: “I care about you, Damon, which is why I have to let you go. I mean, maybe if you and I had met first."
But they did meet first, as we will see. So again, choice not truly made..she doesn't have all the facts. I am currently in denial about her choice... maybe because it didn't feel like a permanent choice..and it was a little cold to
So, now, help me out..is THIS the moment that Klaus leaves his body for Tyler's? Was Bonnie's spell that, SHOULD Klaus get white-oak-staked, he would jump ship..but only if it really did happen? Was Klaus in on this or did Bonnie come up with it on her own? I'm truly having issues with the randomness of the spell... I mean, I get the point, I do.....Bonnie was trying to ensure that, should Klaus get staked, he would not die and her friends would be protected. But, was it pre-arranged? It's fitting that Klaus would go into Tyler (you know, being obsessed with Caroline and all), but who made that choice..Bonnie or Klaus...but, I digress...
Also, Klaus's open eyes, set in a desiccated face, mutely staring at Bonnie and Damon...CREEPY!
I loved Elena's little speech to Matt (you know, while he was watching her to see if the roofies were going to kick in). Brought tears to my eyes. I also think it's noteworthy that she mentions that consuming love, as it becomes so poignant when we later learn about Damon and Elena's ACTUAL first meeting...when he tells her:
"You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for….”
We have not seen the last of Delena yet...not even close.
When Alaric stakes Klaus, I could feel Bex’s devastation and Damon’s fear for his bloodline. Absolutely FEEL it. Awesome scene. Kudos to Claire Holt, truly.
When Elijah shows up to make a deal with Elena, we revisit the central theme of the triangle that Damon makes choices for Elena, while Stefan sits back and lets Elena make her own choices. I kind of think that this theme also shows that Damon will do anything to save Elena, even if it means she hates him for it, while Stefan won't risk losing Elena’s affection. But arguments have merit, but I think Elena’s survival should be left up to Damon. Oh, BTW, I LOVED Damon's speaker-phone argument, hilarious!
So, Blondie and the hybrid are going to run, huh? Don’t they think they can take out the council? And, at this point as they discuss running together, is Tyler really Tyler or is he already Klaus?

As the show opens, it’s nice to see Elena smiling! And great to see Sara Canning as well :-) A few minutes later, when the bros are talking to Jeremy we get an awesome Damon line: "Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you not being the dumbest brother on Earth?"
I kind of wish it was Damon that went back for her, but it's fitting that it was Stefan. Once the friends returned home, I thought for SURE that the Caroline/Elena exchange was foreshadowing Caroline’s imminent demise. Glad I was wrong!
Up next is a nice little flashback moment that reminded me how Bonnie was once normal and not quite so tragic. It was nice to see the kids in school doing normal things, and it’s nice to get a little bit of insight into Matt and Elena’s relationship.
Next we see Evilaric offering beer and a “stake” to Jeremy. He tries to convince him to join Team Vampire Hunter. I LOVE me some Salvatores but, were I Jeremy (and Jeremy were not a fictional character), I might actu

Also, I would like to point out, Elena DID NOT say she chose Stefan because she met him first. She said he came into her life at the time when she needed someone and she fell for him. I don't think we should assume that if Elena met Damon first, she will fall for him. She said, maybe. Both Damon and Stefan love Elena and they would've made different choices for or about her. I think that's another reason why she's torn. Stefan always gives Elena her free will. Damon always makes choices that will make sure Elena will be alive. She's an 18 year old human being and not perfect. I don't think she even knows who she totally is. So, chill with the judgements.

So yeah, turning would have worked best emotionally and shockingly in the s1 finale, with exact same scene, but with katherine instead of becky.
In my opinion though, if Elena turned in S1, it would be too soon. I think S3 is okay but the writers could've done better. I expected more from them. Season 1 was the best and they brought it to that level. It's disappointing that S3 (when Elena turns) is not one of the best. I do agree that it'll be more shocking and emotional if Katherine caused Elena's 'death'

I'm glad Meredith gave Elena the vampire blood. I hope it's from Damon's line. So that if one original from the bloodline dies, they all dies.
I don't like the twist of Klaus as their bloodline. I hope this will change in the future. Some mix up the writer would create. They're good with that. I was hoping for Rebekah or Elijah to be the bloodline. Klaus is just too predictable.
All in all, I think it's a great finale. Not the best among the three. But it was amazing. I love how Matt is like a brother to Elena. And I hope Matt and Jeremy will be a family. Since both of them are alone now.
In the world where The Vampire Diaries exists (i assume news travel fast among vampires), I wonder what Katharine would feel or think if or when she finds out that Elena is turning to a vampire? Cause when Elena was a human, Katharine might have a shot with either one after a century or so but now that Elena is a vampire, she might not have that shot anymore. haha. Poor Katharine. I love her thoug

As the show opens, it’s nice to see Elena smiling! And great to see Sara Canning as well :-) A few minutes later, when the bros are talking to Jeremy we get an awesome Damon line: "Have I told you lately how much I appreciate you not being the dumbest brother on Earth?"
I kind of wish it was Damon that went back for her, but it's fitting that it was Stefan. Once the friends returned home, I thought for SURE that the Caroline/Elena exchange was foreshadowing Caroline’s imminent demise. Glad I was wrong!
Up next is a nice little flashback moment that reminded me how Bonnie was once normal and not quite so tragic. It was nice to see the kids in school doing normal things, and it’s nice to get a little bit of insight into Matt and Elena’s relationship.

Also, I would like to point out, Elena DID NOT say she chose Stefan because she met him first. She said he came into her life at the time when she needed someone and she fell for him. I don't think we should assume that if Elena met Damon first, she will fall for him. She said, maybe. Both Damon and Stefan love Elena and they would've made different choices for or about her. I think that's another reason why she's torn. Stefan always gives Elena her free will. Damon always makes choices that will make sure Elena will be alive. She's an 18 year old human being and not perfect. I don't think she even knows who she totally is. So, chill with the judgements.

So yeah, turning would have worked best emotionally and shockingly in the s1 finale, with exact same scene, but with katherine instead of becky.
In my opinion though, if Elena turned in S1, it would be too soon. I think S3 is okay but the writers could've done better. I expected more from them. Season 1 was the best and they brought it to that level. It's disappointing that S3 (when Elena turns) is not one of the best. I do agree that it'll be more shocking and emotional if Katherine caused Elena's 'death'

I'm glad Meredith gave Elena the vampire blood. I hope it's from Damon's line. So that if one original from the bloodline dies, they all dies.
I don't like the twist of Klaus as their bloodline. I hope this will change in the future. Some mix up the writer would create. They're good with that. I was hoping for Rebekah or Elijah to be the bloodline. Klaus is just too predictable.
All in all, I think it's a great finale. Not the best among the three. But it was amazing. I love how Matt is like a brother to Elena. And I hope Matt and Jeremy will be a family. Since both of them are alone now.
In the world where The Vampire Diaries exists (i assume news travel fast among vampires), I wonder what Katharine would feel or think if or when she finds out that Elena is turning to a vampire? Cause when Elena was a human, Katharine might have a shot with either one after a century or so but now that Elena is a vampire, she might not have that shot anymore. haha. Poor Katharine. I love her thoug
