Doctor Who First Look: The New Companion

We have a new photo of the new companion on Doctor Who.

As previously announced, Jenna-Louise Coleman will come on board this BBC hit later in the year, taking over for Karen Gillan as the sidekick for Matt Smith's TARDIS-traveling Time Lord. (Arthur Darvill is also exiting as Rory).

And while details of Amy and Rory's departure remain under wraps, the series is teasing fans here with its first official promotional shot of the upcoming tandem:

Doctor Who and New Companion

Here is what we do know about plans to replace Amy with the long-running show's latest companion:

"Amy & Rory will leave in a final encounter w/ the Weeping Angels in ep 5. Not everyone gets out alive & I mean it this time," Tweeted creator Steven Moffat in March.

Here's what else we know: we'll be tuning in to see how it all goes down.

Oh man, when Moffat says "not everyone gets out alive," that's when you run to the corners of your fandom and cry in the fetal position.

I have wanted Jenna in this role for years, so I'm excited!
