Pretty Little Liars Review: A Sight For Sore Eyes

In the biting words of Hanna Marin: Wow Jenna, what a sight for sore eyes. | permalink

At the end of last week's Pretty Little Liars, the girls discovered that Jenna was lying about the fact that she was still blind. Or, as Aria put it: "Bitch can see!"

In "Kingdom of the Blind" it was only fitting that we'd witness Jenna's story get taken one step further.

Pretty Little Liars at Lunch

The one thing I didn't anticipate was how confrontational Hanna has gotten. Not gonna lie, I'm loving it! I would've been so annoyed if the liars watched Jenna pull away in her car without saying anything. Luckily, we didn't have to because Hanna's got balls of steel. Girl really got into it this episode; she is just plain tired of being pushed around.

I get that Lucas is going through some sort of downward spiral, and, let's face it, everyone in Rosewood is fairly unhinged, but did he forget how to work a shower? It was clear through Lucas and Caleb's conversation that Lucas knows all about Mona and the A-team. I also just need to throw in how much I love Caleb. He is a phenomenal boyfriend. Do they clone him? Thanks.

Now, here is my gripe about the A-team:

Have you ever wondered why so many people would be invested in ruining the lives of four girls who were just best friends with a bitch? It's not as if the girls are Alison. Alison has also been deceased for two years now. This isn't some run of the mill, bitchy girl fighting. You have to be really sick in the head to get involved with crew that digs up dead bodies, tries to run people over, makes bracelets out of a dead girl's teeth and pretty much commits all of one's time to taking down a quartet of teen girls.

I know, this is the whole fun and premise of the show, but it just seems like the number of people who are torturing the liars is increasing by the episode. So far we have Mona in the nuthouse and Lucas admitting that he is in the know. He was also caught with the black swan. Then there's Garrett, who is also in the know, but now he's behind bars. Next we have Melissa Hastings, who faked how long ago her miscarriage was. Who knows if she was ever really pregnant?

The answer to the question about why Melissa would marry Ian if it wasn't his baby, but rather Garrett's, is pretty simple and I'm surprised that Spencer didn't realize it. If Ian did go to trial for Alison's murder, Melissa would not have to testify against him under spousal protection. Veronica Hastings seems like a pretty shrewd woman. What is her move here? At least Spencer finally confronted someone in her family!

Last but certainly not least we have Jenna. We know she has been involved in the past, and there was even the scene in the finale when she met up with the black swan in her convertible. If she's capable about lying to the world that she's still blind, what makes the girls think she would possibly be telling the truth that someone is out to get her. Please, that was a beautiful sob story she told the liars, but I do NOT buy it for one second. I don't trust that girl as far as I can throw her.

It's about time the liars threw on some armor and started standing up for themselves. Last season "poor Emily" used to trend on twitter. Now she's a BAMF in training. I love this. I want to see what these girls are made of. This week showed major strides from Spencer, Hanna and Emily. Will next week be Aria's turn to shine? Hit the comments!

Can u buy the series

1. I think Melissa was pregnant way earlier, and it was Garrets. That's why Garret told Spencer "Medical Records Don't Lie". He was talking about Melissa's. I also think she had her miscarriage way way earlier, like Season 1. When she took all that time off because of Ian's death, and she wasn't on the show. That's when I think it happened. She was going to marry Ian because if you're married to someone, you can't testify against them in court(which I learned from the Lying Game :)), and at that point Ian was going to court. 2. This may sound weird but Mona is my favorite character. 3. I actually believe Jenna, I mean, A could have been targeting her. But the thing that keeps me on the fence is the Season 2 finale in which Jenna drove to see The Black Swan (Melissa).

Great review! It expressed all the concerns I've had for PPL for a long time.

Everyone should re watch the first episode of season one.. u will understand a lot .
Aria, Em, and Hanna were sleeping but Spence went looking for ali cause she heard someone scream? Really??
I think Spence knows something but she is hiding it.. but when they get interviewed by the detective again after a year only Spence and Aria answer Hanna and Em just agree..
Spence is trying to keep her fam. "Safe" that's why she won't say what she knows but know she relizes that her fam. Were keeping secrets from her so she is confused and doesn't know what to do..
If u think abt it everytime the liars have found out something abt A Spence is the one to find out first and then tell the other liars.. Spence is the one who tells them what to do.

Sp mckenna

Jenna's sob story? Not buying it either. But really, how did she move so fast from the taxi to the building to her car? Was that editing, speeding up the story so we don't have to wait too long, or something else entirely?

if you guyz miss the episode you can watch it here >>>

Mona can sing and hold a note! I'm so proud of her. And Jenna Parrish can pull a crazy hysterical villain too! She's just so talented. And I'm loving the growth of Emily. "I wish everyone would stop treating me like I'm made out of glass!" Urgh, I don't buy Jenna's story at all, but someone did try to set fire to her, so does she have her own enemy? Or one of the girls are behind the fire! Imagine that!

I do think that there is ONE crazy A. And I also believe that some part of the A team are now doing things because they are forced to and not because they want to. Maybe a few years ago a couple of people formed a team to get the girls because at the time they were upset. And after killing Allison and doing more wrong, some of them wanted to back out but couldn't because now A is torturing them with their own secret.. Maybe Melissa is one of them (that would explain that weird fake pregnancy) Jenna maybe (who is hiding that she can see) or....Mona, Lucas said it was safer for Mona to be in the nuthouse than outside...Then backed out and said it was safer for everyone...hum...

Melissa is the Black Swan in the new Canadian promo.

A couple of things: When we first saw Ezra and Ella together, in season one, there was chemistry there, for a second. Given the looks from Ella in this last episode, I'm predicting that Ella is gonna crush hard on Ezra, making his relationship with Aria rather sticky. It would be even more dramatic if Ezra fell for Ella, too, realizing that Aria is a KID. Also--I can almost believe that someone IS after Jenna--maybe it's Melissa. After all, it was Jenna that got Garrett arrested, in the first place. I'm not absolving Jenna of past guilt, though. Lastly--it may be the girls that are targeted, but maybe it's actually a way of getting at their parents? Maybe the parents were all involved in some loony-tune conspiracy in the neighborhood, back in the day, and have a pact of silence about whatever happened. We've deviated from the books enough, or so I am told, so they could be inventing a new storyline, so we can squeeze a couple of additional seasons out of the show.
