Will Jamie Lee Curtis Return to NCIS?

at . Comments

Jamie Lee Curtis' guest arc in NCIS Season 9 was as controversial as it was crucial, leaving fans polarized regarding Dr. Samantha Ryan and her relationship, professional and otherwise, with Leroy Jethro Gibbs.

What can we expect from her in the coming season?

Not a lot, if anything, according to the show's boss.

Gibbs With Ryan

Executive producer Gary Glasberg recently told TV Guide that the loss of Dr. Ryan isn't particularly hard on Gibbs, given everything else that transpired in the Season 9 finale and the fact that Ryan is alive.

"I really didn't want to treat this relationship as if she was dead," Glasberg said.

"The show has a history of doing that and that's not the case here. I'd like to believe that we approached it realistically, and that [she left because] there are priorities she has in her life."

As for whether we'll see Curtis' complex DOD PsyOps brain gramer on the show again, Glasberg says: "If they were able to reconnect down the road, I'd love to have Jamie Lee come back."

It certainly sounds like her story arc is over now, however. For more on what we can expect come September, follow this link for the NCIS Season 10 spoilers and teasers we know so far!

My husband and I loved Jamie Lee Curtis on NCIS, which is one of our favorite shows. She and Jethro were great together. We heard a while ago, she was going to be a regular this season. What happened? We'd love to see more of them as a couple.

I am so glad Jamie Lee Curtis is gone. That was the worst choice for a love interest they could make for Jethro. I just don't like her she isn't feminine at all. She is better at the Activia take care of your bowels commercial. ANYONE for a love interest besides her. Several of my friends feel the same way.

I'm a long-time fan of NCIS. I don't watch it "live", though -- I watch reruns on USA. So I am just now discovering JLC's character, Dr. Ryan. She is the *worst* addition to the cast of this series I can remember. It's not her age -- I'm 60, and I imagine Gibbs is not far from that age. Having a smart, witty woman his own age (gray-haired, too) as a potential love interest works fine for me. Her role in the series as a DoD expert in psyops is okay-- those folks ought to be quirky and secretive. But the combination just does not work. It's not credible. Gibbs is supposed to be able to "read" people, and to know whether they are trustworthy. Ryan is one of the *least* trustworthy characters this show has ever had. There is no reason why Gibbs would allow himself to get close to someone like her, unless he was playing her; and that doesn't appear to be the case. I cringe when the two of them are alone together; I change channels when things get more intense. Lose the Dr. Ryan character, or you will lose viewers.

@ Addicted Fan

All of this - I just do not believe, in the slightest, that Gibbs would have a serious interest in someone so inherently untrustworthy and deceitful. Even on the grounds that Gibbs chases the wrong women, there's wrong as in not suiting him, and wrong as in just plain unbelievable. I'm a big fan of JLC, and her but her character on the show was just not feasible as a love interest for Gibbs. Sam Ryan could've been a good guest character if they hadn't tried to shoehorn in the romance angle which was just cringeworthy.

PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT BRING HER BACK!!! I did not like her character I want her forgot and gone please ncis if you read most of the reviews online the majority hated Ryan!! I don't want to have to drop this series I've been with it for every season, I've bought 1-8 seasons but if JLC comes back I'm dropping the show.

I wanted her back! I love JLC and you ppl are allowed your opinions no matter how bad they are.

I am over 30, like way over. The casting of JLC as a love interest for Gibbs was the most ridiculous match ever conceived. i wrote about this when the episodes were current, and I repeat myself now. Don't bring her character back! It is unbelivable that Gibbs would fall for a sneaky, lying, game playing, underhanded spy (I am trying to be nice here) when his ethic is to be honest and honorable. I am now being subjected to the episodes being reruns on USA, and thank goodness, I can tune them out, and wait for episodes i love. If you bring her back to prime time, I will find something else to do on Tuesday evening!! That will be difficult, because for a lady my age in the south, there ain't much to do!!!

Please don't bring Jamie Lee Curtis back, I didn't like her at all. There was zero chemistry between her and Gibbs, it just felt all wrong.

I would like to see jamis lee Curtis back on Ncis ! Her and Gibbs were great together ! They also were greet together in freaky Friday ! I think they did make here a little harsh for Gibbs but then again that also gave him a little taste of his own medicine! I would like to see them work together in a future season! But if they can't well the writer will find another person to fulfill her place in Gibbs life! They always do! So on another note I think ziba and tony would be a good match up , I don't think Gibbs would allow that thou , but that would be cool if that happened ! Well in signing off o f here so bye!

I would like to see Jamie Curtis come back. This is reality, because when you work for the gov. relationships are complicated and Dr. Ryan had a reason for protecting herself. Everyone wants Gibbs to have the perfect person, but he's not a perfect person because he's a complicated person. I really enjoyed watching the interaction between these two individuals. This is much better than reality shows. This is more like real life.

Stopped watching NCIS, couldn't stand Jamie Lee Curtis on this show. Haven't tuned in yet to see if she's gone.

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.
