Camilla Luddington is moving from the palace to the hospital.

The British actress - who appeared on True Blood as Claudette, but is best known for portraying Kate Middleton in a Lifetime biopic - has been cast on Grey's Anatomy Season 9.

Luddington will come on board as a Seattle Grace doctor, Deadline confirms, appearing on multiple fall episodes with the potential to grow into a series regular.

Earlier this week, former Friday Night Lights star Gaius Charles also joined the Grey's Anatomy cast in the role of a new physician.

We'll add character details for each as more news breaks, but for now just let us know: Are you excited about these additions?

Personally, they don't need new characters...

Stop adding new characters!! it makes us lose hope that the people who left willl be coming back.
I hope they can fulfill the duties and role of a SGMW surgeon(?)
With all these casting news, ABC's bound to be releasing their premiere dates

I,m totally underwhelmed by the news.Seems to me studios and "they who must be obeyed" just like tinkering. What they forget is, that sometimes when a thing is tinkered with,it can't be put back together, and never works right again. Anyway, do studio "suits" ever bother listening to fans?

That's great news for her.. And let's just leave it at that. WE DON'T NEED MORE CHARACTERS!

"with the potential to grow into a series regular. Who's opinion is that, and what is it based on?
They need some new interns and residents, but if the newbees appear as much as some of the intern/residents we've seen in the past(not MAGIC), hopefully they won't get much screen time.

it's not up to the writers, it's up to Shonda and trust me it was never up to the actors to leave the show, she always called the shots, she made them leave, i know people like Shonda and really difficult to work with them, at beginning is all good but as it progresses it gets unbearable.

@jarrodmitchell i so agree with the couplings you suggested lets hope the writers get it together

How exciting! I'm glad new, young characters are being added to Greys. Alex looks like grandpa next to this actress so I doubt you (the poster all excited) have anything to worry about.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

Lexie: [narrating] Grief may be a thing we all have in common, but it looks different on everyone.
Mark: It isn't just death we have to grieve. It's life. It's loss. It's change.
Alex: And when we wonder why it has to suck so much sometimes, has to hurt so bad. The thing we gotta try to remember is that it can turn on a dime.
Izzie: That's how you stay alive. When it hurts so much you can't breathe, that's how you survive.
Derek: By remembering that one day, somehow, impossibly, you won't feel this way. It won't hurt this much.
Bailey: Grief comes in its own time for everyone, in its own way.
Owen: So the best we can do, the best anyone can do, is try for honesty.
Meredith: The really crappy thing, the very worst part of grief is that you can't control it.
Arizona: The best we can do is try to let ourselves feel it when it comes.
Callie: And let it go when we can.
Meredith: The very worst part is that the minute you think you're past it, it starts all over again.
Cristina: And always, every time, it takes your breath away.
Meredith: There are five stages of grief. They look different on all of us, but there are always five.
Alex: Denial.
Derek: Anger.
Bailey: Bargaining.
Lexie: Depression.
Richard: Acceptance.
