Report: Mariah Carey to Become Next American Idol Judge
Steven Tyler is out. Jennifer Lopez is out.
And it appears as if Mariah Carey is in.
Deadline reports that the legendary singer is finalizing a deal with American Idol that will pay her $17 million to come on board Season 12 as a new panelist.
Carey had been considered a possibility for The X Factor when Simon Cowell reconfigured those judges for Season 2 and has long been a name atop the wish list of all singing competition.
If accurate, her salary would be a new record for talent on a reality show.

UPDATE: Fox has confirmed that Mariah Carey will be a new American Idol judge.

I genuinely love Mariah. Not sure though about her being judge on Idol or any similar talent show. She's too sweet to be critical, imo. I don't know, something doesn't feel right. But perhaps to be a GUEST judge would be alright.

I love Mariah she's been my idol since I was ten I just hope she doesnt make a fool of herself or look bad
