The CW fans must wait all the way until October 11 for new episodes to return, but they only need to wait another few milliseconds to learn the title to The Vampire Diaries Season 4 premiere:

Growing Pains.

TV Guide first reported this scoop, and the premiere name certainly seems apt considering its focus will be on Elena as a vampire and even her friends adjusting to life as seniors in high school.

What else do we know about the opener and subsequent early episodes?

• A highly-trained hunter named Connor will come to town.
• Bonnie will have to decide if she will go down an especially dark path.
• A former Mystic Falls resident named April will move back to town.
• Elena will engage in some hot vampire sex.
