Kristin Chenoweth has been forced to drop out of The Good Wife due to injuries she suffered on set a few weeks ago.

The actress has been scheduled to recur on Season 4 as a political reporter.

“It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to The Good Wife,” Chenoweth said in a statement to People. ”[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank everyone for [their] concern."

The Emmy winner was hospitalized on July 11 after getting a piece of scaffolding  struck her in the head during an outdoor scene opposite Josh Charles.

She had completed one episode of filming at the time and it's unclear at the moment if the series - which had planned to use Chenoweth's character in at least three additional installments - will recast the role or change plans entirely.

“We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she’s feeling better," CBS said in a statement.

The Good Wife Season 4 premieres on September 30.
