Dyson's approach is conveyed in a "Look at me and what I've done" context, while on the other hand, Lauren does everything she can without question and without any concern of recognition for it.

What kills viewers the most, if they are Bo/Dyson fans, is that a "mere human" character is a legitimate threat. She's more of a lover and more of a challenge for Bo to face; whereas Dyson is the "safe" choice. Lauren would be more challenging, more intense, and more fuel for an interesting story arc than a girl-meets-old-guy-like-every-other-freaking-story-ever.

Seriously, seeing a man of many centuries lusting over a young girl is over done and extremely unrealistic. Angel/Buffy, Edward/Bella, Bill Compton/Sookie. And the "wolves mate for life" thing.. You're telling me such a "well traveled" wolfboy hasn't loved before is completely plausible?
Dyson has few likable qualities. He isn't very goodlooking. He is a brooding character (in these days, he'd be called emo) who has very little wish to change as time goes by.

How can you like a character so who blatantly has little respect for humans? Who, at every chance he gets, belittles Lauren. How can you respect ANYONE who purposefully degrades a person who means so much to the person you're supposed to "love." Sorry, but prejudice is not cool.
He does things for Bo "out of the goodness of his heart" but makes a point to tell Bo about it later. Yet, Lauren makes many sacrifices for Bo, and mentions nothing of it.

I can't read this whole entry (and your other blog entries, to be honest) without wanted to marinate you, salt you, put you in on GAY SPIT, and then feed you to the devil. Yes, I am being rude and insulting, but your observations like "Lauren's initial reaction to Bo was a bit odd. Yes, Bo killed her girlfriend, but I expected Lauren to be a little more understanding. Or, at least less cold. Lauren seemed almost afraid of Bo. And, then even at the Dal, Lauren wanted nothing to do with her," is more insulting.
WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU DO? You seriously think you'd go about, tra la la after your girlfriend was killed? No matter the circumstances, you'd be affected by it..unless you're an automaton or sociopath.

"After the tension between Lauren and Bo, it was surprising to see Lauren show up at Bo's with her hair done. Their heart-to-heart was necessary for them to get past what happened to Nadia. It was touching to see them bond together in bed, but it came across more like two best

I agree with Skyfyre. Bo wants Lauren, physically and emotionally. The look on her face when Lauren said she just wanted to sleep with her screamed of disappointment. But going back to Lauren, yes she spoke about using sex to displace grief clinically because as Skyfyre said, she deconstructs so she was basically talking herself out of doing something that wouldn't take the pain away, would confuse things, and also make her feel like she used Bo specifically for sex to make her feel better and that is just not what Lauren is about. There is another character on the show that has that base more than covered. There is a reason that scene was inter-cut with the Dyson/Ciara f**k fest. The scene with Bo and Lauren in bed together was all about the tenderness, love and care that exists between them while again the sex scene with Ciara and Dyson was primal, aggressive and when the knife came out dangerous. It was about love, tenderness and that feeling of peace that you can only get with your

Because going over with the inital thought of shagging... wasn't about getting lost in sensuality? Because Bo saying.. my whiskey is under the bed and YES YOU CAN SLEEP WITH ME initially wasn't about her wanting Lauren? really? Lauren deconstructs. It's how she deals with the stuff moving around her. She wasn't being clinical for the sake of clinical. She was doing her flustered linkage, she need Bo's comfort whether it was her body or just her presance.. Bo was ready for anything. From romance to just being there for her. Their relationship has lots of depths. To say that sexuality is not their relationship right now is ludicrous. But we disagree alot.

@Skyfyre999 - While Lauren did show up at Bo's wanting sex to make her feel better, she talked about it in a clinical manner. It wasn't about her and Bo, it was about making the pain go away. And, Bo was more than willing b/c using sex to heal is something she understands.

Lauren was mourning Nadia, she wasn't thinking about a romantic or sensual relationship with Bo. They may have had one in the past and probably will in the future, but right now it is about their friendship and caring about each other.

If they had a passionate, sensual relationship, I would discuss that. Right now, that's not their relationship.

Also, let me just remark on this because it's beginning to really make me barking mad. Reviewers-- I know some of you want to desexualize the B/L relationship by continually saying... gosh, they look like BFFs instead of lovers... but that scene was full of unresolved sexual tension. Because that's initially what Lauren came there for. And Bo was MORE than ready to fix their effed up emotions with sex. That was clear. Please try to stop diminishing that aspect of the show. It's integral. It's there. It's important.

Agreed. This episode sucked terribly and can I just say "what the heck happened to the fight coordinator????" Man-- no pacing. NO PACING. No feelings of jepoardy. Bo was OOC the entire way. She shouldn't have shirked her responsibilities. She should have not been an insensitive ass to Lauren when she walked into the deathscene apt. She should not have ignored a bleeding out Dyson on a trolley, etc. Relationship or not, that's someone she cares about. The ONLY thing I thought was good, was Lauren's effed up behavior after Nadia. Contemplating leaving, mixed feelings with Bo, was good and real.

Yeah, this episode was a hot mess. It wasn't the Garuda who made a move - as Harukanoten says, it was Dyson coming back from his fire walk with me sabbatical, deciding that he's going to initiate the war to bring down the Garuda. Clearly this was never going to work (they didn't even have a plan!)

It's frustrating that Bo would go along with this, or that she would look for a way to skirt her role as champion. It's so unlike her :(

Dyson should be with Kenzi, period. She is the only one who seems to care about him. She cared enough to risk her life for him. Bo did no such thing for him... ever. Much as I hate to admit this, Bo's heart is clearly with Lauren. I don't care if she moved on, Dyson deserves to be loved and Bo will never be able to give him her 100% because at least 50% will be given to Lauren. They connect better emotionally and they really highlighted that tonight.

Lauren wasn't mad at/afraid of Bo. She got hurt because Bo showed up wanting her to work (like Ciara suggested). She acted insensitive. Nevermind that she killed Nadia and left Lauren on her own to deal with the body. BTW, best friends don't feel sexual desire for each other. Lauren went to Bo because she wanted to sleep with her to deal with her grief (Bo knew, she reads auras, and was willing). The thing about Bo and Lauren is that it isn't about sex. They were talking about feelings and cuddling in bed, something Bo has never done with anyone else. Bo doesn't cuddle. Hence the juxtaposition to Dyson and Ciara's kinky sex.

Bo is "the champion", not Dyson. That was the whole point of the episode. Dyson misinterpreted the "Wolf Spirit", made a fool out of himself and nearly got everyone killed -- it got Ciara killed. Bo does seem to be over him but I wouldn't read into it. The writers aren't keen on continuity.

  12. Harukanoten

Dyson was integral in almost getting all of them killed because he was willing to sacrifice everyone to get his love back. Lauren was probably initially scared of Bo because Bo pulled a knife on her (true Bo was remembering Nadia/Garuda going to attack Lauren) but Bo was being completely insensitive.
