True Blood Round Table: "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"

at .

And... we're back!

The usual True Blood Round Table suspects - Matt Richenthal, Chris O'Hara, Leigh Raines and Jim Garner of TV Fanatic, along with Liz Henderson of True-Blood.net - have gathered again to breakdown the latest breakneck episode of his HBO smash.

Will Hoyt live or die? Is there an Oprah and Gayle on the show? What was your favorite naked scene? Sit back now and help us get to the bottom of "Everybody Wants to Rule the World."

-------------------------------------------

What was your favorite scene from the episode?
Matt: Andy and Jason working as a team and figuring out the identity of the Dragon. One isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer and the only uses his sharp knife way too often, but they bring out the best cop in one another.

Liz: Sookie and Lafayette going through her box of goodies she never knew existed under her bed. Lafayette had the best lines! His conversations with dead people are so funny.

Leigh: I got really into the Dragon mystery. I LOVE that they referenced the books and made the Dragon Sweetie Des Arts, who was the supes shooter in the novels. That said, favorite scene was when Sam shifted from a pig and caught Sookie. I love when everyone comes together to help each other out.

Jim: I have to go with Sam and Luna's yelling match confession of love for each other. I'm really enjoying Sam's story evolving to include other shifters and having his own life outside Sookie.

Chris: I'm with Liz. Lafayette with his new eyelashes was fierce this week, spewing hilarious lines left and right. "I aint Gmail for dead bitches!"

Is Hoyt gonna make it?
Matt: Is he a main character on True Blood? Yes? Then... no.

Liz: Of course he is! He's going to patch things up with Jason, although their friendship is forever changed because both men have changed. He's also going to make amends with Jessica. They may not be lovers anymore, but I think they could have a good friendship.

Leigh: Honestly, I don't think so. This show never really kills people off so I could see it happening. It will affect Jess and Jason the most.

Jim: Yeah, he's t0o big and brawny to be killed by a little bump on the head. Besides, I don't think Jessica would let him or Jason die anymore than Sookie could let Tara die.

Chris: I don't think he's done either. With regard to Jason and Jason, there has to be some reconciliation at some point between QB1 and his ex-best friend.

Did Terry do the right thing in shooting Patrick?
Matt: Most definitely. The right thing isn't necessarily the easy thing, but - as bad as I feel for Patrick's pregnant wife - it would have been rather warped of Terry to choose someone else's family over his own, don't you think?

Liz: I was actually surprised that he did it. I'm not sure if it was the "right" thing, but it was the only thing he could do to get rid of the curse.

Leigh: It's never a right thing to shoot someone, but this was a kill or be killed situation. Terry did what he had to do to protect his family.

Jim: In many way he did the right thing. He listened to his conscious, he defended Arlene and his family, he paid a blood offense with blood, and hopefully he will be able to let go of the guilt/pain he had been carrying around. On the other hand, he did shoot a friend - so more guilt might be coming.

Chris: Absolutely. He did it for his family and in such cases you have to set aside your normal sense of values. Your primal survival instincts take over, real king of the jungle sh-t.

Better use of nudity: the naked guy on The Authority's table, Luna pummeling the Dragon or Sam coming to Sookie's rescue?
Matt: Luna all the way. And not just because my interview with Janina Gavankar at Comic-Con gave me a new impression for this actress' fun personality... and other assets.

Liz: Sam of course! No one can look better kicking ass in the nude than Sam.

Leigh: Tiny Luna taking down large marge Dragon lady was awesome.

Jim: I loved Sam catching Sookie and Luna tackling the Dragon, both of those were well used. The naked guy on the table... was there a reason we kept having to see his junk?

Chris: My vote is for Sam because he continues to use his powers intelligently. I loved when he had the idea for him and Luna to become flies on the wall. My only gripe though is why didn't he shift from a pig to like a grizzly bear in order to fight the Obamas. His pasty white butt was pretty scary, but what if he caught something on a rusty nail in that barn... tetanus city!

Pam says she and Tara are NOT Oprah and Gayle. Choose a pair of characters and tell us: Which famous tandem DO they remind you of?
Matt: Bill and Eric are akin to LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. They're simply better than everyone else.

Liz: I will go with Andy and Jason being akin to Laurel & Hardy.

Leigh: I hate to compare vampire shows and be formulaic, but Bill and Eric are like Stefan and Damon Salvatore. They are sexy vamps who hate each other but when push comes to shove they team up against common enemies. One also has the propensity to go rogue like Bill is doing now. (see Ripper, Stefan the).

Jim: Letting my geek flag fly with this one: Jayne Cobb and Malcolm Reynolds. Deep down they both actually care about the other, but on the surface they bug the crap out of each other. And I fully believe that Pam would not hesitate to stake Tara if she felt Tara had betrayed her.

Chris: Pam and Tara remind me of Genna Davis and Lori Petty in A League of Their Own. I can totally picture Pam catching a baseball bare handed in that scene with Madonna. Tara like Petty would be hard pressed to lay off the "high ones."
