Tyler was an asshole in s1 and assholes dont have friends.
An asshole who developed in s2, which is why the spoiler states this friend is from his past when he met Jules, who in fact is from s2. I mean it was a dick move to watch Caroline get tortured and do nothing, but other than he wasn't an ass in s2. Also wolves are naturally assholes in this show and Hayley is a wolf. So...

Wtf ? Enough with all the love-fest goin around.The show dosent need a new girl from tylers past.And I agree with what FRUIT SALAD said,Tyler was an asshole in s1 and assholes dont have friends.
Im thinking maybe she will in fact be some werewolf he met while he was being a hippie with Jules in s2....On a side-note will Julie Plec ever get laid ? Or is she too busy l.a.r.p.'ing that shes Elena at Mcdonalds ? She is soooooo into "Love" and "Relationships" and the drama it brings and all it does is piss me off.

Tyler doesn't have a past. Before he was with Caroline, he was a high school douchebag screwing Vicki. It's a little too obvious that this new girl is some wolf he met with Jules in season 2, or someone he met a few weeks ago? In any case, I'm not amused. At this point I just want all the spoilers they've given us so far to be fake because it's really not looking good

this is TVD.
EVERYONE is just a plot device here. There are no characters or consistency, everyone does what writers want them to do and do not even question morality or logic of it all. And if those plot devices are not enough, Bonnie is brought it to asspull some spell.
