My son and I both loved David in Angel, but although he gave Bones a chance when it first started because of that, he couldn't watch it after a bit because Brennan is sooo irritating, no one could be so unworldly, unless they've lived in a cave all their lives, she went to university, so obviously she mixed with people, and would not be so ignorant of everything as she pretends to be, tv programs, films, music etc., even if she didn't like them she would have heard people talking about them, so the way she makes out that she doesn't know what people are talking about, unless it's scientific, is unbelievably annoying. She is so conceited, there are other people working at the museum who are just as clever as her, but you wouldn't think so to hear Mrs Big Head talk.

@kayla also, did you watch the premier it was made quite clear that Brennan was basically being bossed around by Max on the lam. She wasn't alone she had Max to rely on. So her and fans using the excuse of being independent made her into a control freak insensitive bitch is just lame.

I personally thought this was a good episode. The tension between B-squared seemed right on the mark. Booth says he understands why they left, but he's still hurt, and ends up lashing out as a result. And Brennan... I get why people are angry with her, but come on, people! Have you been watching the show? Tempe has ALWAYS been cold and aloof, but rarely do we see her get really MAD like she was here, which to me says there is a lot more emotion going on with her than she's used to. This can't be explained away with cold logic, which is why she's flipping out! And I thought it was HUGE that she went to talk to Sweets, when for years she's blatantly scoffed at his "profession". Dig a little deeper, people... after all, it's the subtleties that have kept me a fan for so long in the first place! That and all the gory bodies, of course... ;)

@kayla Wahwah. Yes because so many people are bashing you have to turn it into a conspiracy theory. Grow up. Brennan was a bitch to Booth hence why she is getting called on her crap.

I get the feeling that all the hate comments on Brennan are from a single, decidedly pathetic individual who does not understand either character at all. Brennan has come a long way since the first episodes, but she is not by any means "normal". She simply doesn't understand why she should take Christine to a carousel when she knows for a fact that Christine does not enjoy it. She is incapable of understanding the hurt this will cause Booth. She is also not undermining Booth as the crime scene; she is using her new knowledge to try and help assess the situation. And, if you recall, Booth does the same thing to her while giving the tech team instructions, so by your definition, Booth is being a "bitch" as well. Not to mention the fact that he was being deliberately hurtful at the construction site, in a way that I have never seen Booth act towards her. It was NOT just Brennan acting badly. As to the comment that says that Brennan wasn't really alone because she had Max, it's ridiculous.

things they don't mean, make comments they shouldn't, treat each other badly? Even though they love each other? What makes Booth and Brennan's future hopeful is that they are willing to work through conflict;Booth is not going to "dump" Brennan. Brennan by saying she's going to do "irrational" things to prove her love and Booth by willing to confront issues shows they both are changing for the better. By returning to the carousel this time with Booth, even though Brennan thinks she knows Christine's reaction is the first step-with both her parents there the outcome will be a positive one!

While I understand the need for Booth and Brennan to address their issues a lesser man would have told Brennan to shove it and go be on her own if she loves it so much. After 55 minutes of angst, it was resolved by Brennan going to Sweets, whom she does not respect, and a cute little scene at the end is supposed to temporarily resolve the situation. What crap, the men of Bones are completely emasculated, the strong independent woman of Bones dont need them except, of course, for their sperm. ugh,

Jackies let me spell it out to you. Sometimes people who love each other and who are in serious relationships, whether they be married, have a child together, etc. can be mean to each other! Especially when hurt feelings/ resentments are internalized and not resolved. In Booth and Brennan's case this is exactly what happened. Even though Booth "understands" why Brennan took Christine and went on the run, he's angry but he hasn't expressed this to her. Brennan is so used to being independent that she continues to make decisions without "consulting" or even including Booth; she knows this is "wrong", but doesn't understand her actions which makes her deny them, causing her to lash out and say she's a "free agent". I think she just meant that she is choosing to be with Booth, but that he has no legal hold on her even though he is the father of her child. But remember, she said this when she finally lost her temper with Booth. Tell me, what couple do you know who doesn't sometimes say thin

@andrea oh and the most vile of Brennan being a bitch, treating him like dirt was her telling Booth she could do it alone and they were free agents. FREE AGENTS. The man she shares a home with. Has a child with. What. A. First. Class. Biatch.

@andrea Oh so Brennan taking over the crime scene, belittling Booth's FBI ability, wanting to take Christine to a museum without Booth, making out that Christine wouldn't care if he was at the Carousel....wasn't treating Booth like dirt? Ok. My. Bad.

All the Sweet haters here I love you. Hart Hanson has no respect for the FBI when he keeps insisting that Sweets is now an Agent. He has no clue what and how one becomes one, does he? Idiot

Brennan didn't even go on the lam alone. She had MAX for pity sake. She was a total bitch to Booth. She treated him like dirt. That being a father to Christine only happens on her terms. I would dump her sorry ass. Go find someone better with a heart. With compassion

Great show with the Brennan/Booth ups and downs, like the viewers are on an amusement park ride. The fact that the writers are still able to do that to us after so many years shows just how talented they and the cast are. Ok, so Brennan can be cold, that's the way she's always been but now it's nice to watch as she struggles to be a "better person" with Sweets help. Brennan and Booth are opposites and a very unlikely pair but watching them struggle to make it work is a great show.

So Booth has the right to act awfully towards her by being mad at her without even saying why and not admitting to himself he is angry, let tell Brennan, but Brennan is automatically a jerk whatever she says, even when she tries to understand what's going on with Booth and he turns her down.
I wonder if all those Brennan haters have watched the same show as I did. And if they ever understood her, and will ever understand her.
And for those thinking I'm a Booth hater, you're wrong. I like both of them.

Good episode. Agree with others on the misattributed quotes. Brennan does not realize that she has reverted back to her independent, awkward, anti-social self while on the lam. Booth is a bit hyper-sensitive, but with good reason. I just wanted him to shake her and tell her how he feels...impolitely! I hope they can get back to their groove soon though.

I think those making the hateful Brennan comments are completely wrong. Anyone with some understanding of psychology can see that hers is a struggle between her love for Booth being so intertwined with her life and each other's happiness and trying to hold onto her fierce independence-this is what's causing conflict! Of course Brennan loves Booth; she's not treating him like dirt-were we watching the same episode? I don't think her matter of fact saying what she and Christine did when she "was on the lam" was meant to hurt Booth. She's trying to fill him in on what he missed in her awkward way. At the end of the episode Brennan is finally able to admit she has difficulty seeing subtleties in their relationship;she thinks everything is okay after they "kiss and makeup" but Booth knows there's still "work to be done". Brennan knows it now too and they are both willing and want to get their relationship on track. Very realistic in depicting conflicts and resolutions between a committed

OMG how anyone could like Brennan after this ep is beyond me. And no the end scene didn't make up for how down right cruel and mean she was to Booth for the 55mins prior. Vote her of the Island. Pronto.

After this ep with the return of awful, cruel Brennan, I am ok now if B&B breakup and Free Agent Booth, as the biatch said, finds a new love someone that actually gives a crap about it. I don't want Booth or Christine anywhere that heartless jerk.

Soo she went to Sweets because she thought something was wrong with her??
Oh shes just figuring that out NOW! She's always had major malfunctions (rolls eyes)
No character growth for Brennen..
Yeah punching Sweets is kinda a common feeling methinks.

Sweets playing FBI is a joke. An effing joke. He isn't an Agent no matter how Hart Hanson tries to convince us just to give JFD more screen time at the expense of other characters i.e. BOOTH

Brennan is a JERK. She went from showing Christine pics of Booth when on the run, cos Booth is important as a dad, to in this ep not giving a crap how Booth felt a) not seeing Christine for 3mts b) not spending time with Christine now when they were home. She just does not give a damn for Booth or how he felt being parted from his family. Not one crap. I actually hate her after this ep.
