Cote de Pablo Teases What's Next For Tiva on NCIS

at . Comments

NCIS Season 10 kicks off September 25, and the premiere promises to be worth the wait.

Perhaps first and foremost among the many burning questions heading into the new season? What's next for Ziva and Tony, a pair whose chemistry has been off the charts since she was first introduced, but whose relationship status has sparked strong debate in recent years among the show's fan base.

Cote de Pablo (Ziva) recently spoke to Hitfix about her character and that very subject.

On the subject of whether Tony and Ziva will get together, she said:

A Ziva David Photo

"I don't know, but it's definitely going to be more explored. [Fans] want more things to happen between these characters. And I think the writers are on board, and they want more things to happen. And I think it will."

On where we pick up when NCIS Season 10 begins:

"Well, the cliffhanger is that we were stuck in an elevator. The bomb exploded and the next thing you know we're on the floor. Nothing else is seen. So, we have no idea what happened."

"The beginning of this year, we're still stuck in an elevator - you find us there - and we have a nice little bit in the elevator, which is so much fun."

On her on-screen chemistry with Michael Weatherly:

"Ironically, the writers just saw the chemistry between these two characters, and they were like, we've gotta do more of this, and Michael [Weatherly] and I jumped. Of course you have to do more of this! This is what we love to do, so hopefully they're going to have more scenes and explore that relationship more. It's always fun for us."

"We embrace it all, and whenever there is tension between the characters, Michael and I take distance from each other. We do; it just happens naturally. It just does. And whenever we have to be more connected, we just naturally come together. It's really funny. So right now we're getting together, and I think the writers are going, oooh, look at the chemistry there, and he and I are like, it's always been there. You just have to seize it. Always."

No Michael, they were never meant to be more than what they were -- temporary stops on the way of Tony and Ziva getting together by the end of the series. Sorry, that's just the way it is. And for a show supposedly ruined by shippers, it seems to have no trouble pulling in 19 million to 20 million viewers each week. There are a lot of shows who would love to be just as "ruined."

Yeah but these is a TV show and these show turn to great woman into a Joke because of the shippers

Michael, do you have any idea why people in real life are gay?

oh my god oh my god

@ SAM Beause why bring them back in the first place and it does make them gay because they see something that not there

Michael, I'm sorry, but I have to agree with Aycliffe. I have watched "HK" three times now, and I have yet to see anywhere any indication that EJ is gay. She really didn't have any say in the breakup with Tony because it was clear to her: #1) they had already pretty much ended things back in "Pyramid"; #2) that Tony had moved on with his life, and #3) that he is clearly interested in Ziva. She has eyes and she is not clueless -- she could see how Tony is around her and how Ziva is around him. Why waste your time on somebody who clearly is intrested in somebody else? And while Wendy and Tony agreed offscreen that whatever they had at one time was over, it's clear from the ending of "Secrets" that Wendy knew Tony was interested in somebody else. Whether she knew it was Ziva isn't clear, but my guess is that she had an inkling that it was. All of that doesn't make her gay, it makes her smart. Like EJ, she knows that going after a guy interested in somebody else is a waste of her time. Nothing more, nothing less.

Ummmmmmmm........R O F L WOW. You click onto THIS link and find out tidbits about NCIS characters that you KNOW never existed!!! Amazing....who knew???

@ Michael, sorry but I don't understand the logic in what you are saying,I'm totally lost for words. I can't even remember the Gay word being said in good House Keeping, I remember EJ telling Tony that Ziva really likes him, or are you using the gay word to mean something else? nope still don't understand

Wendy- when they broke up after she only appear ONCES trust me that made them gay or their making tony gay one of the two because that was a joke what they did.

Michael, you need to name for me the exact episodes in which EJ and Wendy were shown to clearly be gay, where they either announced they were coming out of the closet or were shown to have come out of the closet. Things ending between them and Tony is not proof that they have gone gay.
