@MavRx You must be "New" :) Clearly, you haven't been on HERE long enough to know the consistently negative comments people like "Michael", AJA (who is NEVER "Quiet") & others have posted in the past, and people are FED UP w/ their negativity. MzLady IS 100% DEAD RIGHT ON THE MONEY, because her POINT was 100% Accurate. The original point of THIS discussion has NOTHING to do with Dopamine or any other drug; the BENZO point was CORRECTLY made in reference to Anger MGMT issues, with which some seemingly hate-based posters on here probably DO need assistance. The character bashing on THIS site is not well received, period. Perhaps you can further "Diagnose" that on your own.

@MzLady (con't) ...a drug rep or what your background is,; however, if you really DO work with "pharmaceutical clients," then you need to ramp up your game a little bit. Don't just paint a picture, put a frame on it. And make sure its an accurate representation so that your credibility doesn't take a beating.
As for Dani and Janet, I don't know how old either of you are; however, are you deliberately trying to turn this forum into a war zone? Why? That's just spiteful and mean. "Medical lectures" notwithstanding, a little education never hurt anyone and I'm a big believer in knowing what makes us behave makes us better people. Try to be better people. In spite of her vitriol, at least MzLady is making the effort.

Can I chime in? I'm a heath care provider myself (a pharmacist in a psych facility, actually). Hate to break this to you, MzLady, but you're dead wrong. It IS all about serotonin and dopamine; the release of these neurotransmitters - or the interference in their release - does, in fact, affect our moods, opinions and actions. You like NCIS because your viewership of it makes you have positive feelings; that comes from the release of serotonin and dopamine. That's fine; I feel like that every time Mark Harmon takes his shirt off. With respect to TIVA, clearly that subject can either trigger serotonin or inhibit it, and therefore affect one's behavior, or it has no effect at all. Opinions (statements and actions) are all rooted in brain chemistry.
Also, your knee-jerk responses are just fueling the fire and absolutely proving Aurora's point. He/She is remaining pretty cool while you've practically launched yourself into orbit. I don't know if you're a drug rep or what you

@Michael, EJ didn't love Tony. She ships him with Ziva (just like the rest of the world).
She had no problem walking away from him, just like he had no problem walking away from her.
I really wonder what show you are watching sometimes, because it is not NCIS.

so glad to see others calling out the likes of @AJA. When your vision of what the show and the characters should be varies drastically from the vision of the writers and producers of the show - you have a choice to make. Get with the program or change the channel. Easy enough. The show is obviously going in a direction that displeases you and seeing that isn't going to change any time soon as Tiva and Ziva will keep being a focal point (because most of us want to see that) of the show - sounds like you need to make a decision and quit whining about it. We KNOW you don't like it (you keep telling us again and again), but here's the rub - we don't care!

Michael, Michael...*Sigh* Are you talking about EJ? She's the only "Season 8" woman that Tony was with. I don't think ANY fan in their right mind would call Barrett "fat", since she was clearly tiny. I've never heard any "Tiva" fan, as you say, call her that either. So personally, I think you're making up that rumour yourself. You seem to do that a lot. You're another one that never seems to have anything positive to say about Tiva or Ziva.

ITA with you: all this Boastful, Garblety-Gook re: medical diagnosing of other fans on here is WAAAAY out of line. We don't NEED a medical lecture. Who the HECK Cares??! Let's stay on topic. I come here a lot too, & I've also grown tired of the nasty comments about certain characters coming from the SAME people. It would be ONE thing for them to post a negative remark every now then..but EVERY time they come on here??!! People ARE sick of it. If you're unable to balance out your negativity by finding something positive to comment on too, then for Pete's Sake, give it UP and go ELSEHWERE, if Tiva or Ziva or Abby bothers you THAT much. Complaining is fruitless, b/c the writers are not going to change the characters very much at this late point in the series anyways.

The POINT was..you tried to use your so-called knowledge of the WRONG drug to hurl insults at other fans who have rightfully expressed their disdain for people who continully choose to post primarily negative remarks about a show they claim to love. We ALL have a right to express ourselves. You called yourself trying to defend the negativity, but in fact you only heightened it. And yes..I chose to call you out on it - and if you try to belittle others in such a way in the future, I WILL do it again. Congratulations on further proving MY point. Case closed.

@MzLady: No, actually, I'm spot on. I am, in fact, a health care practitioner. Benzos have nothing to do with the pleasure center; they affect gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA-A, specifically), which is an inhibitory NT, producing quite the opposite effect of the issue at hand. The part of the brain to which I am referring is driven primarily by dopamine (sexual motivation) and serotonin (satisfactory resolution), whereby the disruption or re-uptake of either produces anti-social and even hostile behavior.

How can other fans possibly see the “enjoyment” of the show in such remarks, when the only sentiment ever highlighted is almost ALWAYS toxic?? Dopamine is NOT your biggest problem here. In her case – as well as a couple of others I could easily name - you may want to relegate your rookie diagnostic efforts to the more appropriate Benzodiazepine family. As others have pointed out: if you truly want other fans to appreciate your comments, then start mentioning some POSITIVE things about the show and/or characters too, rather than constantly pinpointing that which you clearly hate.

@Aurora B Although you may THINK you’re clever by attempting to play “Doc” w/ your smug, unqualified diagnosis of the “neurotransmitter level status” of other posters on this site, your thinly-veiled insult is actually accentuating the problem that A LOT of fans have with individuals like AJA. I’m sure most here could care less that she’s a fan. It’s the overly negative tone that people here have had enough of. If she IS finally being “gang-banged” on here – as you attempt to label it – it’s likely because she’s reaping the rewards of trying to play Jefe on all things Anti-Ziva/ Anti–NCIS for sooooo long. She has nobody to blame but HERSELF for this backlash. I’ve been fond of this site for quite some time & have often read the great NCIS articles & posts on here (Great job, TVF Editors!)…and AJA is usually one of the chief offenders when it comes to posting vitriolic & downright inappropriate remarks about the characters on a show other

So excited to see my show returning. I watch this show because of the way it makes me feel when I watch it! I like all the characters, but I could watch Ziva file her nails at her desk for the full hour, LOL. If a show pisses me off, or I find myself constantly bitching about it or the characters, I stop watching. There a tons of other shows to watch. Just pick up that little plastic square thing with all the buttons on it. Click away from the show that upsets you and onward to a show that makes you feel good. Simple. Unless it's the bitching that makes you feel good...

@Aurora B Actually, my impression of AJA's remarks were that she actually no longer really does like the show that much and is losing interest in it. That her problems with how Ziva and Gibbs are portrayed are pretty much causing her to turn away. Perhaps my impression is wrong. At any rate, she's free to post her opinions, but you know what? We're free to post our opinions on her opinions. And she can do likewise, just like you.

Wow, you people really get your panties in a twist when someone threatens your dopamine flow, don't you? I think AJA has been cyber-gang-banged enough by the likes of you people. She's made some valid points about Super Ziva and The Mighty Gibbs, but she still enjoys the show. So do I. In fact, it wouldn't be interesting if everyone was perfect. My particular problem is with Abby. I no longer find her waif-like and needy demeanor curiously charming. I just think she's a petulant, whiney pain in the ass. Besides, Goth is sooo eff-ing '90's, and even then, you couldn't really pull it off if you were old enough to f*ck, fight or drink. But I still enjoy the show overall and chose to ignore that small, annoying part of it. So let it go, people.

Well, AJA, it seems that you've made your decision about watching the show because from what I see, Gibbs, Tony, Ziva, McGee, Abby, Ducky, Palmer & Vance will continue to be written about til the series end, whenever that is. And I plan to watch every one of those episodes cause all 8 actors, also known as an ensemble cast, excel in their role. I'm so ready for them to bring on Season 10!

@AJA Where in my post did I tell you to "get lost"? I said no such thing. What I did say was that it appears as though the show has made its decision on a number of things, especially Tiva, and that it would appear as though their minds are set, for good or bad. And that being the case, while you have made your feelings clear to them and certainly can continue to do so, it's highly unlikely that you, or people who share your opinion, are going to get them to change their minds. So other than continuing to do the same thing, only more of it, which clearly hasn't worked and most likely won't, what other options do you have? You can continue to watch and suffer, or choose not to. If you have any other options, please let me know what they are. I would love to hear them.
