The Vampire Diaries Premiere Synopsis Teases "An Unexpected Tragedy"
A terrible price paid. Unfortunate consequences for Matt. And an unexpected tragedy.
With just a few weeks to go until The Vampire Diaries Season 4 kicks off, The CW has released its official synopsis for "Growing Pains," teasing the aforementioned events and plenty more.
What can you expect to go down on October 11? Well...
Elena awakens on the morning after the accident to find the thing she dreaded most has come true – she died with vampire blood in her system and now must go through the terrible transition to become a vampire…or face certain death.
Stefan promises Elena that he and Bonnie will exhaust every possible way out of the situation, but Damon is furious with his brother for letting Elena die in the first place. Bonnie pays a terrible price for her attempt to change Elena’s fate, while Damon takes out his frustration and rage on Matt.
In a rare moment of empathy, Rebekah is deeply touched by Stefan and Elena’s devotion to one another. Finally, Pastor Young (guest star Michael Reilly Burke) and the Town Council members begin rounding up the vampires and their supporters, leading to an unexpected tragedy.
Elsewhere, have you caught the first two season premiere clips? In one, Elena wakes up and learns her fate; in the other Stefan and Damon argue over how to handle it.

Bonnie pays a terrible price in order to help Elena. Geez, I wonder how many times that has happened? Bonnie's character has become Plec's official punching bag. I'm trying to think of what Bonnie has left to lose? I guess her vampire Mom could still die.....again. Or they could introduce her dad for the purpose of killing him. Or maybe Elena never talks to her again, which wouldn't be such a bad thing.....

The unexpected tragedy is Pastor Young dying. The consequences are Bonnie will puking up blood in episode 2. per Kat's statements and spoilers at other reputable sites.

I'm assuming that Bonnie fails in her attempt to 'change Elena's fate', and obviously Elena is begging Bonnie to find a way to reverse it, do we actually have to have Rebekah involved at all, I think her best role was when she was daggered. She always walks around like there's a nasty smell under her nose. Maybe somewhere in the season Elena should actually like being a vampire, its going to be really boring if she mopes around for a whole season.

Vampbarbie - You're totally right. Bonnie is always paying some 'price' for helping Elena or whoever. Yet she keeps on doing it! Haha.
I'd like to see Elena with someone else...*cough* Elijah *cough*.

Isn't Bonnie always paying some type of price! Isn't Damon always taking out his frustration on other people for no reason! Isn't there always some type of unexpected tragedy! I feel like I've read this synopsis before!
