Bradley Whitford is returning to politics. Sort of.

The West Wing alum will appear on two episodes of Shameless Season 3, Showtime confirmed today, coming on board the comedy as an activist named Abraham.

He's described by the network as "a powerful, well-dressed, sophisticated gay man."

Shameless returns on January 13, with the premiere kicking off five months since we last saw the Gallaghers.
