Castle Review: Shhh! Someone Knows

at . Comments

Well... that was fun! In typical Castle fashion, "Secret's Safe With Me” provided us viewers with a light-hearted and enjoyable hour. Let’s talk about it...

Eye I See You! The weekly case followed the death of a brother and sister pair who had been trying to purchase a storage unit to track down information on the murderer of their parents. Twists and turns led us to Storage War type bidders, as well as rich socialites and criminals.

Never did I think that a prosthetic eye would be the answer to the case. Kind of gross, kind of fun. Basically, Castle perfection. Besides, how could you not love the auction scene?

Castle at an Auction

All Children Grow Up. Alexis finally made the big move to her first dorm room. First, can we acknowledge the fact that her dorm was nicer than most college apartments? Seriously, why did I not have a dorm that looked like that? Secondly, who else teared up at the goodbye scene between the father/daughter duo? I know I wasn’t alone.

Castle has always been a great father to Alexis. Even in his funny and immature moments, he has always been there for his daughter. Although we are not treated to too many important scenes between the pair, they have always been enjoyable. Maybe now that Alexis is not living at home, these moments between will carry more of an impact.

“I Saw The Poor Girl Hiding.” It looks like the cat is out of the bag! With a few people at least. Martha told Castle she knows about him and Beckett and that it is time to tell Alexis. How cute was it that Beckett cared what Alexis thought? These two are becoming so mature!

Who will be next? My guess is on Lanie. It will give the two girls some time to have a friendly moment. What do you think? Javi or Ryan? How will Gates take it?

Speaking of Gates, how excited was she for that creepy doll? Who knew that the tough woman would be such a softy for a porcelain doll?

The World's Best Handshake. Caskett continued to rock every scene they share together now as a couple. The two have such a natural chemistry that has always radiated across the screen. But now that they are in a relationship, it feels even hotter. You have to love the exchanges and tension between them while they are in public. To keep the arc interesting, the other detectives need to find out. I can only imagine the ridicule that Javi and Kevin will give Castle. It is going to make for some hilarious scenes.

Seriously though, Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic rocked in “Secret’s Safe WIth Me.” Keep it up, guys, it’s the best part about Monday nights.

What did you think, TV Fanatics? Did you enjoy the episode or did it fall flat after last week’s “Cloudy With A Chance of Murder.” Hit the comments and let us know. Don’t forget to check out the Castle quotes page and the official TV Fanatic Castle Round Table later in the week.

Until next week, Castle fans.

I absolutely loved this episode. The Castle writers are doing an excellent job of not focusing too much on Castle and Beckett's relationship. I liked the Alexis handle too but what impressed me the most was that they did not make an extraordinary deal about Castle coming out with his new relationship to his family. I like that Martha knew and she just mentioned it casually and I also like that they did not show him having that talk with Alexis too. It goes to show you they are not relying on the chemistry between Beckett and Castle. I'm going to start the handshake thing. It's way classier than making out in public....:)
Secondly, I'd like to say...."The BROMANCE IS BACK!". The snickering scene at the van was awesome.
After 4 seasons of accusing everyone in sight, Castle finally got his chance to name the killer and it was absolutely worth it. Can't wait for next week!

Knowing Castle, that handshake is gonna become a "thing" now. I agree with the review above, but i think, and im sure a lot of castle fans will agree with me, this episode was much better than 4.1/5. Sure the story wasn't especially tight (that's something i give Castle a lot of grief for sometimes) and happy Gates was unnerving, but the great moments between Castle and Beckett, Castle and Alexis, and Castle and Martha hit all the right marks. Not cheap or sappy, not one of them. That's an accomplishment for Castle. As always, excited for next week... (8.9/10)

Awesome episode the humor so far this season has been top notch. those two have such remarkable chemistry. I loved the handshake but honestly i'm a little dissapointed with the lack of caskett scenes so far, i mean the sneak them in but i would love to see an intimate scene with the two, it doesn't need to be raunchy make out sesh but something. and my only other complaint is I would really like to see them start to develop castle a little more, get into his background maybe his dad or something, to be honest I'm getting a little sick of Beckett and her mom. not that i want that story arch to end cuz its still important to the show, but castle needs some of that emotional tie to his past. with that said, best season so far hands down, and it's only three episodes in :)

Castle needs to check the auction sites and antique stores around the whole world, and replace those two dolls. Fast.

it is very telling that these two can make a simple handshake as sexy and erotic as anything you will see in a movie or tv story! But a real love scene is about due without constant interuptions!! In any; event this was a great episode!!

I will admit I get a little sad when Alexis asked Castle to look under the bed for her. I can understand her hesitation with only growing up with a Dad. She has gone her whole life with one constant, her dad, and being at school and waking up without her dad there will be an adjustment. Also Beckett and Castle handshake kiss will be their thing now when they are at the precinct its cute.

Loved the show as ALWAYS! The handshake just blew me away. And Alexis and Castle....both growing up and moving forward. Only thing really to complain about....some romantic time for Castle and Beckett. I mean come on....we saw more romantic scenes with Castle and Meredith! And stop with all the romance's getting old quickly!
