Elementary Tracks Down Mother for Watson

by at . Comments

Elementary fans will soon receive a major clue about Dr. Joan Watson and her past: the CBS drama has cast this famous character's mother!

According to TV Line, Freda Foh Shen (Franklin & Bash, Private Practice) will appear on the December 13 episode as Mary Watson, a parent who has not always been very supportive of her daughter's decision to become a sober companion.

Look for Mrs. Watson to meet Sherlock, executive producer Rob Doherty, teases.

I really like the Sherlock character and the show's premise, but they appear to be missing the point with Lucy Lui? She's a powerhouse of a woman and I'd like to see more of that spark from her. I think the show would be better off with two strong characters driving the action rather than one, and surely she is not simply meant to be Sherlock's "straight man/women?" I certainly hope not. The writing is intelligent and compelling but puhleeeze, let's give Lucy MORE to do!!
