Gossip Girl Season 5: Share Your Favorite Moments!

Oh Gossip Girl. Please don't leave us. We love you so hard.

In honor of repeats airing for the first time on the Style network, and the final season airing this fall on the CW, TV Fanatic is taking a look back at the series that's given us so many great memories over the years.

Last week, we reflected on Gossip Girl Season 4, a turbulent year by any measure. Today, we ask you to share your memories of the show's fifth season and all its ups, downs, highs, lows and controversies ...

Gossip Girl Season 5 began in Los Angeles when a re-energized Chuck and Nate decided to pay Serena a visit. Nate made the acquaintance of Elizabeth Hurley's Diana Payne, and Chuck nearly had a brush with death.

He's still pining for Blair, of course, as his true love is planning to marry Louis - and learns she is pregnant. The identity of the father remained a secret for some time, as did the mystery of why she'd marry Louis.

Back in New York, Dan learned that Vanessa - having been booted off the show - published one chapter of his novel as a parting shot. Inside then became a hit, but his Upper East Side pals weren't thrilled with it.

Chuck and Blair on Her Wedding Day

Gossip Girl Season 5, like Seasons 3 and 4 before it, featured Chair coming thisclose to getting together, only to have fate intervene. Or most notably, in this case, a car crash that caused her miscarriage and his near death (again).

As a result of the crash, Blair also makes a pact with God that she will marry Louis ... which she does, but only after her true feelings are revealed on video just moments earlier, at which point the prince turns on her.

It was all a bit convoluted, and that wasn't even the half of it. Following the demise of her loveless union, Blair and Dan plunged into a full-on romantic relationship, probably the most controversial arc in series history.

Love them or loathe them, everyone had an opinion on Dair.

The season also focused on Nate running the New York Spectator, a celebrity gossip site, and on Chuck's quest to find his real parents, which leads him to the shocking discovery that Bart is actually still alive.

Shortly thereafter, Bart turns on him, wresting back control of the Bass empire. At the end of the season, B makes a choice between Dan and Chuck and so does Lily between Rufus and Bart. In both cases, the latter won.

Ivy's web of lies finally unraveled, thanks to the addition of the real Charlotte Rhodes (a.k.a. Lola). The two briefly joined forces in the interest of perpetrating a classic Upper East Side scheme; their future is uncertain.

We also very briefly saw Gossip Girl ... or was it a dude?

Serena was last seen leaving town, friendless and senseless, while Dan decides to write a new book about the Upper East Side, with the help of Georgina, which brings us to where we are today, leading into the final season.

All in all, the 2011-12 campaign was not Gossip Girl's best. We can all agree on that, as well as the fact that it was the show's most polarizing. Despite some high points, we're happy to turn the page and move forward.

What's your most vivid memory of Gossip Girl Season 5? Favorite episode? Favorite moment? Most heartbreaking moment? Biggest disappointment? We want to hear from you as we gear up for the big farewell.
