This was a really good episode, I enjoyed it. It had lots of good moments. I wondered why Chin would attack Kono like that about Adam, but I think it's because he doesn't want to lose anyone else, and rightfully so. Loved the scenes between Steve and Danny even if Danny sounded like a nagging wife, lol.
I'm sure I'm in the minority in this, but there is one thing that is really annoying me, and that's Catherine. Three episodes in and I'm still wondering what purpose she serves as a season regular besides getting info for Steve by using her connections. I'm sure Steve has other connections he can use. It's just really stupid for her to be around just to look after/look for his mother. And when she went with Kono and Chin with a bulletproof vest on and a gun to the suspect's house? So ridiculous. I did appreciate her concern for the boys though.
I actually hope we see more development for her and better stories. Even Lori had somewhat more of a purpose, even if she was very unpopul
Catherine worried about the boys was a good way of using Cath in this episode and I didn't have a problem with Catherine coming along with Chin and Kono--at that point, they all were worried about their friends . But once the boys were back Catherine was no where to be seen until the Ohana moment at the end.
Chin looking at his wedding pic aww. I like that the show has Chin still grieving over Malia because no one gets over the death of a loved one that quickly. And I love that Chin still needs to take care of his cousin. Chin still don’t trust Adam which I understand he safed Kono but he also pointed a gun to her head looking forward how this will continue.
The Ohana moment at the end was adorable. Love these moments.
Perfect balance between the main charaters keep this up writers!!
Can someone give Steve a award how he can put up with Danny yelling and complaining all the time OMG! I love how calm Steve stays when Danny is in his yelling mood.
I think Danny is the only one who can ask Steve about his personal life his mom and girlfriend Cath and in the middle of the ocean Steve could walked away from it perfect timing from Danny he knows Steve needs a woman in his life and that that person is Cath. The look on Danny face when Steve said she isn’t my girlfriend or we only have a thing says enough.
But at some point I can see Steve commitment and trust issues will bring some tension in this relationship.
What happened with Danny’s friend was really sad and I understand his hate for the ocean now was so cute of Steve to toasts at the memory of Danny's childhood friend. At the end. I will never ship them as a couple but their friendship is amazing.
Catherine worried about the boys was a good way of using Cath in this

When I first saw the preview for this ep, I wondered whether it would be a solid hour of "shark-guments" so I was quite relieved when it only lasted for about a quarter of the ep and that there was a "crime du jour." Even so, the bicker-banter got to be a bit much.
And as for the "crime du jour", the twist for me wasn't that it was the wife, but that it WASN'T the sister-in-law. She cast quite a few furtive glances during Kono's interview that made suspect her of something. She turned out to be a murderer anyway--albeit of the vengeful type.
A few notes for the cast:
Steve: the opening title card said your boat was 40 miles off the coast. I don't care how fit you are (and you do look GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD *drool*), towing another human 40 miles across open water seems downright impossible.
Chin: Kono offered to help you with Mallia's possessions. You're a first-class turd for ripping her a new one about Adam--he saved her life!!!!!!
Catherine: You're not on a militar

Liked this ep a lot. Danny is Danny and that is the way it is going to be, it's part of the show. Loved the Kono/Chin argument, sets up well for Adams bad brother to arrive next month, that could be very interesting. Loved Kono kicking ass as usual, always send Kono to do a mans job (considering Chins predicament I may have let the bad guy go, but loved the scene anyway). With Daniel Henney guesting next month we will have had guest stars from Heros, Lost and Three Rivers, how about someone from BSG. A shirtless Tahmoh Penikett would be good.

And the best part of this episode...an extended water scene showing off a very healthy looking and shirtless Alex. ;-). Love where this season is headed.
"Back seat fishing" was one of the best quotes of the episode eventhough Danny and Steve had lots of funny lines. I really loved this episode. I too think Catherine fits in well with the task force but I still do not want her to be at a crime scene each week. So far they are doing good with how she is integrated on to the show.

(cont) When cath said she would treat his mom as her own mom, and then said she did not mean how that sounded, steve said he liked it. If that is not love I dont know what is. I like the way they are developing them as a couple. I think it is going to be so interesting to see where they go with them and i like michelle borth very much on this show.
The mom I am ready for her to go away, she is evil in my opinion but I suppose we will see where they are going with this character. I just hope she is gone soon.

Great episode. Great building of each character's background story. Catherine and Steve have yet to discuss what they really mean to each other which explained why he calls it a "thing", it means no disrespect to Catherine, it simply means that Steve is not sure of what they have. And the tentativeness of Catherine around Steve affirms that. Chin has his personal hell to live through and it's heartbreaking to watch but great acting by Chin. Kono is her usual badass self, loved the takedown and fight scenes and the scenes with her cuz re: Adam is perfect. Loved Chin's cooment at the end that he will always continue to take care of Kono. All the background filling is going to make this an awesome season to watch.

I really enjoyed last nights episode. I just love this season so much!! I think steve has the patience of a saint to put up with dannys complaining and I like danno, he was just acting like a baby last night so that was a little annoying but it showed how awesome steve is to not have thrown him overboard as I would have.
I have no problem with steve not being able to say cath is his GF, we are learning more and more that steve has trust issues and they are very well founded. I think he does love her and trust her he just needs to be able to say it. Like alex said in an interview it would not make sense that Steve would be able to have a normal trusting committed relationship after all he has been through. I dont see it as disrespect of her at all, he is very sweet to her and he did not call her a booty call he just did not know how to describe their relationship. Makes total sense to me. He is a wounded guy who needs to get some things straight in his head and his life. He told h

Cont..... I figured this would be cut off......Chin and Kono went in first, and Catherine was back-up. I was not thrilled with Steve not telling Danny what Catherine is in his life, but Danny is going to continue to point out what she does for him, because thats part of his snarkyness, and someone needs to point out to Steve that he needs a woman in his life, as Steve has done to Danny in the past.
You figure that Adam would be a conflict between Chin and Kono, even though he saved Kono, I'm looking forward to seeing how this plays out. Love Adam, but still don't know if he is actually trying to change the business.

I like this very much. Danny's snarking is part of the show and its not going away. How entertaining it would be if he followed everything Steve said and did without a word. Danny and Steve's exchanges are funny, and I too liked the flow of this show. They concentrated on one thing, which is what a lot of people complain about, but I'm sure there will be the usual complaints.
As for Catherine, I would not like Steve having a problem with him calling her his girlfriend. I think that is where they are going with this, that he does not realize how much a part of his life she really is, and that he trusts her as much as he trusts Danny, or the others. But there will be some tension at some point, we just have to be patient to see where this goes. As for her having a vest, it has been shown before that 5-0 carries their vests and extras in the truck of their car, so its not hers, and she went along, because she can handle a gun being a Navy officer, besides Chin and Kono went in fi

The bitching and moaning by Danno on the boat was a bit much. I'd have thrown his ass overboard after the first 2 minutes. Steve's trying to do his best to save them and all he can do is complain. You're out of high school now Danno. Kono's take down of the bad guy was AWESOME! I love Catherine but it seemed as though she was a little out of place. Chin needs to ease up a bit on Adam and Kono. The show can get a lot of mileage of that storyline...

Seriously I don't like the way Catherine was used in this whole episode, especially in the ending scene, she didn't even get lines.
I am a McDanno shipper, and I'm not gonna deny it.But I was really not pleased by the 'oh she's not my girlfriend, but we have a thing' thing, then what kind of thing?like sexual thing? That is offense to Catherine, and do no good to help to built McGarrett's personality.
Maybe they do have a special history,so I'll keep watching and see how the writers will explain McGarrett's behavior and his attitude to Catherine.

I had to turn off after 15 minutes as the "bromance" was so annoying. Who was this Steve. What is Catherine then, booty call who does favours as well. What woman would put up with that. So she risks her life to babysit mommy and puts her career on the line to dig up info for Steve when he demands it and she's just a good friend with benefits. Ugh! I guess no one can be seen to interfere with the bromance. Kono and Adam are the most interesting couple on the show but I'm sure Adam will got he same way as Malia.

Good episode, bromance was funny in episode, it was nice to see what happened to Danny's friend explains his water issues.
Maybe Catherine's the spookier kind of spook. She's an intelligence officer for Office of Naval Intelligence, not a staff communications officer on a supercarrier.
Or maybe they're never going to explain it. Hell, if Kono can run around kicking ass instead of 1) dead, or 2) institutionalized in a mental facility because 1) she went up against Brutish Thug #423 and he broke her like a toothpick or 2) she realized she just killed like a dozen guys and undergoes a psychotic break because killing people is hard on one's mental health, especially for cops who are not trained to kill, then so can Catherine (or Chin Ho or Danno, because COPS DO NOT KILL THAT MANY PEOPLE).
