L.A. Noir: Picked Up by TNT, To Reunite Walking Dead Stars

TNT is preparing fans for a Walking Dead reunion.

The network has given the green light to L.A. Noir, a drama written by Frank Darabont and based on the John Buntin novel L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City.

Among others, it will star Jon Bernthal and Jeffrey DeMunn, both of whom were killed off the aforementioned AMC smash last season.

Bernthal (pictured) will portray Joe Teague, an ex-Marine working as a cop in the corrupt Los Angeles Police Department, while DeMunn takes on the role of Detective Hal Morrison, the leader of the LAPD's mob squad.

Jeremy Strong, Milo Ventimiglia and Simon Pegg will also play key roles in the period piece, which will air a six-episode first season some time in 2013.

"This series is an intense, exciting drama that takes viewers back to a truly fascinating time in the history of Los Angeles,” said Michael Wright, president, head of programming for TNT.
