NBC Cancels Animal Practice, Calls Up Whitney

at . Comments

Animal Practice has been put down.

The sitcom, whose monkey got more press than any new star on NBC over the summer, garnered only 3.8 million total viewers this week. It will air its final episode on Wednesday, November 7 and be replaced a week later by Whitney.

Why not Community, fans of Greendale are likely wondering? There's no way of knowing, of course, but it's safe to assume NBC is waiting to air that beloved series on Thursday nights again, likely after 30 Rock has completed its final season.

Animal Practice is the second new show of the fall to get the axe, following CBS' Made in Jersey.

You Were a SnakeYou have a primal eergny that drives you to explore the mysteries of life.A nearly immortal soul, you'll live a very long life.I don't agree with this because I don't like snakes! LOL Why did they have to choose snakes? ;-)Yours was very fitting.Have a great day, YAY for the weekend! *HUGS*

@amy I do like Whitney Cummings as a comic. She was always hilarious on Chelsea and that's why I tried watching her show. It's just terrible. Why a slightly better show was canceled and Community not even replacing it is beyond me.

Whitney is actually one of the funnier shows on tv... People just don't give it a chance because of who she is. They have a great cast. Her and Chris Delia have great chemistry. And it gets better and better each and every episode. I cannot wait for this show to come back! Until then, I'll be watching my season one DVD of Whitney!

Whitney it's the worst.

The most likely reason they put Whitney there is that it will most likely share a bigger audience with Guys With Kids than Community would.

Not surprised
