NCIS Scoop: McGee to Go Undercover With ...

NCIS fans longing for a McGee-centric episode will soon get their wish, in surprising fashion:

Sean Murray's character will be going undercover with Gibbs and Fornell's ex-wife, Diane!

Gibbs' Ex-Wife Diane

Executive producer Gary Glasberg confirms that Melinda McGraw will reprise her role as the former Mrs. Gibbs and Mrs. Fornell (and current Mrs. Sterling) in December, and the show-runner had this to say:

“This time she not only has to work undercover with them, she has to spend the night with Special Agent Tim McGee as well. Amidst the chaos, Gibbs and Fornell find their ex asleep on the sofa with Tim."

"In the words of one of my favorite films, ‘Ex Mrs. Boss, are you trying to seduce me?!’ You’ll have to wait and see what McGee has gotten himself into.”

McGraw first appeared in last season's "Devil's Triangle," in which her current spouse became the target of an investigation that brought her FBI and NCIS agent exes together in pursuit.

Excited for this episode, and for Diane's return? How do you think it will play out? Comment below!

I’ve been visiting your blog for a while now and I always find a gem in your new posts.

Off-topic question: How come some of us have RANKS, like "extra" and "recurring character" yet those of you who clearly constantly post on this site do not? Just curious.

I said I would NOT be back because of all the nasty comments posted on this site; But being reminded that the first ep with Diane was "Devil's Triangle", the title of this ep is "Devil's Trifeca." (Ep titles through December are posted on another website). The question is: Does McGee "Win", "Place", or "Show"? I can't imagine him willingly lusting after Gibbs' and Fornell's ex-wife, so it will be interesting.

Michael, I can't really add much more to what Dani said, other that this: I have watched the show since the beginning. I can appreciate and enjoy many aspects of the first two seasons of it. That said, we are in the tenth season of the show. It hit its stride back in Seasons 5 and 6 and has been going great guns ever since. There are many reasons for that being the case, but the fact is this: it is a stronger show, a more popular show, and yes, a better show, than what it was back then. If it weren't, it would have gone off the air quite some time ago.

@Michael - While you may be "sick" of the early NCIS haters, you spend an AWFUL LOT of time on here "Hating" yourself, as you bash ZIVA more than almost any viewer. Yet you have the AUDACITY to want people to "respect" your views on "early NCIS"? You have to first GIVE respect, in order to receive it. How do you know it's "Hate"? Maybe some fans just don't LIKE S1-S2 because to them it was dull and boring. I'm the same way. NCIS didn't get interesting to me until Kill Ari, to be honest with you. But that is MY right; I don't HAVE to like Kate - besides, she was barely on the show that long. NCIS became more interesting & popular with most fans AFTER S2. You still haven't learned that you can't lash out at others just because they don't like a certain character or season. You have NO control over what others like/dislike.

I can not wait!!!!! McGee undercover!!!! YAY!!!

Let's not forget one important detail about Diane's current husband, Victor Sterling, who's a Homeland Security agent, he's a secret millionaire ! Even if he inherited lots of money, he's humble. He loves Diane and cares about Fornell's daughter. He did what his kidnappers told him to do, or else they would kill the two women. Diane showed she loves him. Even if he made his move on her when she was still married to Fornell, he's not a bad person.
About Diane's team-up with McGee, we're going to hear her call him Macauley alot and many of Dinozzo's funny comments about her marriage to Gibbs and Fornell. It's nice to see her back on the show. She really made an impact on how Gibbs and Fornell are connected to her. She grew up a bit at the end of the episode by returning Gibbs' grandfather's pocketwatch.

I see your point just so sick of the Kate/NCIS early year Haters.

Michael, the fact that the show brought Diane back would seem to indicate that fans overall liked her, and things about her, including who she is currently married to and the fact that she had a kid with Fornell.

I'm really looking forward to this McGee glad we'll get to see more of Sean. Oh, how funny that it's gonna be Diane going undercover with McGee. Loved her so much last year in Devil's Triangle. Can't wait to see how Gibbs and Fornell handles this assignment.

Tony: One other question, I know you're an expert in English history. And I was just wondering, have you ever heard of Archibald Drummond, the 17th Earl of Trent?
Ducky: The Earl of Trent. No, I can't say I have. Why?
Tony: I was just wondering. Thanks.

McGee: All right. Well you should probably know that Abby and I used to date?
Bishop: Ew. Like, each other?
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: Wait - isn't that a violation of rule 12, never date a....
McGee: It was a long time ago. After we'd broken up, one night I went to her lab. Found a scribbled piece paper; a list. Potential boyfriends had to fulfill certain conditions by a pre-arranged date or else, goodbye.
Bishop: Such as.
McGee: Things started off relatively normal: opening the door for her, flowers, putting the seat down. Then around number 8, it gets uh...
Bishop: What?
McGee: Does she know you have these?
Bishop: Does she know you have these?
McGee: Yeah she wasn't happy when she found out.
Bishop: These are all very specific.
McGee: Yeah.
Bishop: These ideas apply to you?
McGee: No those rules weren't in place when we were together. At least I don't think so.
Bishop: What's with the two month cutoff? Abby's sabotaging herself. I've seen stuff like this before. We have to talk to her.
