It sounds to me that it will be up to the Sherwoods to help Michael deal with Claudia Joys departure. No doubt Roland and his wife will have problems since she is on the plane which gives us more trauma.
The writers have done a great job up to now and there is no reason to think they won't continue although, if it were me, I would not have killed off Claudia Joy, I would just have telephone conversations and keep her recovery with her mother going but that's just me being cautious. You never know. It might work out but I really think that the Holden family has lost enough.
It will be interesting to watch the changes. I can't wait but then again, I'm pretty flexible or I wouldn't have been a fan of ER all those years. After all, that program made a lot of changes, and they worked for a long time

What is the point for the show to continue?? Pam gone, CJ is going, and Roxie anc her families gone.. Why not just a 3 hour movie and tie the show up and end it instead of out with no glory

I still haven't gotten over the departure of Pamela, so I don't think I'll be able to enjoy this show without Claudia Joy. How can it be that a show with men in the military, the only people dying are their wives or children? It makes no sense, Army wives.

OMG i know the actress has some problems in real life but they didnt need to kill her off, this show doesnt need any more death. i feel so bad for michael, his daughter died now his wife. claudia joy could haev permanently stayed in Connecticut with her parents. i hope pamela comes back to the show.

The character of Claudia Joy was the pivotal role and frankly the loss of that dynamic makes it unlikely that I will to continue to watch. The writing and some of the storylines were less than stellar last season and I was waiting for the role of Claudia Joy to return and infuse some new life in the show. Poor decision to let her go.

If the quality of the writing can return to what it was prior to the last season or two, I would love to watch this show again.
I don't think more characters--female or otherwise--are really necessary, though. There should be plenty to explore with the ones that are on now.
Three new wives sounds like the writers are still struggling, unfortunately.
