Hart of Dixie Review: The Cougar Is In

at . Comments

On" Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me," we witnessed Zoe damage her relationship with Rose in order to insure that the high school football kicker, Max, would compete in a huge game.

Yes, Zoe was turned into the town "cougar."

McKalya Maroney Appearance

This episode featured a bunch of fun silly elements that kept the tone of Hart of Dixie Season 2 consistent: it's been especially light and adorable. It was an enjoyable hour with obvious aspects that I didn't really buy into or enjoy that much. To wit...

For the first time, I could have completely cared less about Lavon and Ruby's storyline. If you can't see that this relationship won't last for much longer, you need to do a re-watch. That said, I still love Ruby and what her character is doing to everyone else.

I will admit that the last scene with the both of them was a good one. It was great to see this moment happen, considering how much it says about their characters in the series. They both are ready for a strong and solid relationship. What Lavon and Ruby share right now works for the show but in the long run, I don't see it surviving.

How come? Because my end game pairing is, of course, Lemon and Lavon.

Watching Lemon taking charge of her life and finding something she is really good at was extremely entertaining. Though I feel bad for Annabeth having to fail at what she wanted to do in order for Lemon to succeed. I guess you could say that in the end they both accomplished what they wanted to.

I was proud, however, for Annabeth sticking up for yourself!" It has been boiling up for two seasons now and it finally came out. Both actresses did such a great job in that scene and then one in George's office. Thank you ,writers, you did it right. I look forward to watching their catering business blossom as they become successful partners.

I'm so happy for Lemon finding something that she can make a career out of and I appreciate George for still being an amazing guy to her. Now... if Lemon and Lavon could get together and she could continue to be successful, then all my HoD dreams will come true. Is it too good to be true? I hope not!

Elsewhere, what was up with that flash mob? On one hand I thought it was silly, funny and creative, but on the other, come on. It was ridiculous. It tied together at the end when Zoe gave her big speech about bravery and what not, but I am still having a hard time deciding whether or not I liked it. Max was an adorable character and love-sick boy, so I have a hard time hating those moments.

How adorable were the duo of Rose and Tonya tonight? Like I've said before, I could be bias considering I was waiting for McKayla's guest spot, but it was a good scene. I'm happy to see more of Rose and Tonya's character provides it. She may have only had three lines, but I hope they give McKayla more to do when she comes back in an later episode, so we can see what she is capable of as an actress.

Of course, Rose got her "man" at the end of the episode and everything was resolved, which I didn't feel was forced or out of character. However,, is it bad that I was hoping Tonya would be at her side, judging and rolling her eyes? Maybe I'm just being bias again.

Then the ending came and we saw that Wade baked for Zoe. This has to be the most adorable thing he has ever done on this show. I even said, "awwwww" out loud. These two are headed for a relationship whether they like it or not, actually, they're basically in one right now. I am loving it and I am loving how Wade's character is right now.

Overall, I think this episode was pretty decent. It had a sweet and innocent theme that left me smiling. Hart of Dixie is one of the few shows that doesn't stress me out or cause me yell at my TV (I'm looking at you, Revenge). It's a feel good show and that is the kind of episode we received tonight.

I don't dislike George...I just don't think he and Zoe have the chemistry needed to carry a show.

I love watching Wade and Zoe too. I too am missing Shelly and Abby. The show needs to bring them back and get rid ofbe Ruby...she and Lavone have no chemistry. I also wish the show would recapture the magic developing between Wade and Zoe ( 1st half of last season ...which was the BEST).

I love this show! Uncomplicated, feel good and quirky. It is sweet without being too sickly. The characters, whilst larger than life, are allowed not to be perfect: Zoe can be really annoying; George is a little staid; Brick is proud, Lemon histrionic. Wade frequently acts like a complete jackass, and yet they are all thoroughly engaging. They make mistakes, are inhibited by insecurities and develop gradually as they rub against one another. As for the love triangles, instead of 'external forces' and epic love, you have very human foibles. I simply adore Zoe and Wade - it's so rare to see a relationship done like this - sexy and fun; the tension strung out by the frustration of watching two characters not admitting to themselves their growing feelings. Just like real life can be. Low key misunderstandings, rather than melodrama. Wade's discomfort with overtly romantic gestures and Zoe's confusion over what she wants is entirely in keeping with their characters. But it isn't all about them, its the whole cast - its one of the few shows which doesn't rely too heavily on stringing out one pairing. I love Lemon and Lavon; Lemon and George; Brick and Emily - frankly, I care about all of them. And the friendships are great too - Wade and Lavon, Zoe and Lavon; Lemon and Annabeth; Brick and George; even the incidental characters like Wanda and Tom, are quite delightful. Can't remember when I've ever actually missed an incidental character like Shelley the waitress - I wish they'd bring her back; she was hilarious. As for this episode, I loved the craziness of the Flash Mob as much as I loved Wade risking baking cookies and not knowing quite what to do after he'd made it. And the puppy love storyline was innocently done - I didn't think there was anything pedophiliac about it: the town wasn't encouraging Zoe to do anything. Alabama Tourist Board should pay for this show, because as unreal as it is, the show paints such a beguiling image.

Wade: "So uh, what do we..."
Zoe: "Get naked?"
Wade: "Thank God. I thought you'd never ask."

What did Zoe say to wade at the end of the episode? I can't seem to make out what it was and it's driving me crazy.... Does anyone know?

That should have been that Brick told Lemon in episode 2 that Addy enrolled in graduate school in Mobile. It happened toward the beginning of the episode right after Magnolia was giving Lemon a hard time about working at the Rammer Jammer. Brick wanted Lemon to come and work at the office in Addy's place. Shelley hasn't been addressed aside from in the premiere Wade hiring Lemon because they needed a new waitress. It seems like Wanda is the waitress at the Rammer Jammer now when she wasn't last season. I definitely missed Shelley this week when Wade was talking to Wanda. I think Shelley would have known who Wade was talking about because she always seemed to know what was going on between Wade and Zoe.

@T in episode 2 Brick told Lemon enrolled in graduate school in Mobile when he wanted Lemon to quit the Rammer Jammer and work for him.

I miss Shelly too. She and Wade were funny together. I liked the way Wade was teasing Zoey with that little boy.

I also want George and Lemon together! Even though they were both "distracted" by Zoe and Lavon, I think there's something really special between George and Lemon. I think it's important Lemon has time to be single because she's finally learning to be a woman who doesn't need to depend on a man for everything. For this reason, I don't want her to "relapse" into starting another relationship with Lavon. I totally loved Ruby and her grandfather this week. I think she and Lavon are perfect for each other. Wade and Zoe are adorable as always.

@tap76: What did Brick say about Addy? I must have missed that.

Zoe: Looks like Stella got her groove back.
Brick: Emily and I are in a good place so don't ruin it by talking.
