also, i don't think it matters how elena met first. i know she did mention to damon that "maybe" if she had met him first...yet, the first episode of the season when they finally talked and she asked him why didn't he tell her that she met him first, he asked her if that would have matter and she stayed silent. then damon looks at her and said something like "i thought so." i think it was just something nice to say at the moment, but even when elena knew that she met damon first, she didn't go running to him.

damon does deserve to be happy, but i don't think that happiness will be with elena. from the beginning, i didn't like the whole love triangle because as gorgeous as damon is-i can't deny the fact that lusting over his brother's girlfriend is plain out horrible. also, stefan's love for her has always been so strong and pure-but there are so many scenes where he puts damon first. for ex: he agreed to be klaus' partner in crime in order to save damon, and how does damon pay him back? by going after elena; really sweet thing to do. it's also super annoying how people say things like "omg, stefan is so selfish wanting to turn her back into a human..blah blah." which is true, and im sure he knows it too. but delena fans need to stop using that as an excuse to why she shouldn't be with stefan, cause we all know that damon isn't the king of selflessness. the writers know their audience, and if damon was meant to be with elena, he will (which i doubt it). everyone has their own opinions, but i

I was so satisfied with the break up two weeks ago, not because I don't like Stefan and Elena together, more because it felt right at the time being and that Elena should experience her other options, but seriously? C'mon!! I love the hot vamp sex and all (thank you Julie!), but couldn't they just not do the vampire sire thing??? I mean, Elena always went to Damon before she even became a vampire. This is so bad. I was actually excited to see how the relationship between Damon and Elena would turn out, but Julie, you kind of ruined it with the sire bond..

@Anna I see what you mean with Klaus... that is a wild Mustang that I would love to see tamed. He is... as he says, lovely. But again, his case & Damon's are not that different. Both have been treated like crap by their loved ones & for so long, even if they do not say it, all they are seeking is love and acceptance. I really would love to see how Caroline will tame that "bad boy", and although I try to keep bias, lately I do ship more towards Damon. I don't know, call it age, but when u are 40, you just see thing differently... I guess life teaches u to appreciate the little details more. So I guess after loving one character in season 1, my heart now feels empathy for the other. ;)

After waiting for three-plus years for these two characters to get together, I agree with all the extremely aggravated posters who feel really cheated by this "sire" plot. The only thing that could redeem this for me would be if this theory is ultimately shown to be wrong and Elena gets really mad at Stefan and Caroline, so that she actually has to stand up (for once) and say, no, I'm not sired, I just have feelings for this guy that I could never allow myself to admit before. She has to fight for Damon. She has to grow a backbone and own her own choices for a change. And it would be beyond great if she would clearly state, this is who I am now. I am happy and you two just have to accept that I am happy and stop trying to "fix" me into being what you want me to be.
Also, I'm calling it now: April will turn out to be the Big Bad this season. There is something totally suspicious to me about how she just blends into the background of so many scenes, with that harmless, blank look on h

Elena may be sired to Damon however he was not the one who told Elena to break up with Stefan, she clearly made that choice herself, so although she may be listening to whatever Damon says, she still is able to make decisions herself, plus it's unfair that Damon doesn't get his happy ending! He deserves it, it's funny how he can be so cruel yet more romantic than Stefan

As a huge Stefan fan and on and off Stelena shipper, I found this episode mortifying. Stefan has always been a tad insecure because he knows he's prone to get obsessive and possessive about a lot of things. Case in point: blood sucking, Elena, Damon, etc. That's what makes me like him so much. He tries so hard to be the moral compass, but his vices always hold him back from truly getting what he wants.
The breakup episode was great in that it gave room for Stefan and Elena to pursue new things because it was mutual, not like the Klaus-induced breakup way back when. And now the writers reduced EVERY character into a caricature. Elena is now not only a Mary-Sue, but one incapable of thinking for herself. Stefan is pulled back into the triangle, Damon is officially the devil and Caroline is once again a brat - not the adorable kind.
So bravo, Julie Plec. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did.

@phabk I understand all you Delena fans have been waiting for this moment. But I just can't personally see Elena and Damon together because of everything he has done to her. Damon has almost killed and turned Jeremy and Caroline and has tried to kill Bonnie before. And any guy that would date a girl his brother lives and had dietary us not okay and would not be acceptable in real life, but this show isn't real. Damon has changed, I get that. But it doesn't take away the bad he has done. Her and Stefan just make more sense to me. I'm team Klaus though so I could really care less who Elena chooses! Lol! Klaus is the bad boy who doesn't pretend to be something he is not. And his lips, dimples, accent, and abs get me every time, swoon!! And the way he says love. Lol!
I am fine with the sire storyline. It makes sense. When Elena was human she was in love with Stefan and so when she died and became a vampire that should have magnified 10 fold. However it did not. Yes she may have had small feelings for Damon when she was human but she disliked him more so her dislike should have overpowered her attraction to him. Therefore the Sired storyline makes sense!

Ugh!!! I have been waiting for three years for Elena to come to her senses and when she does...the writers made it some cheap sired trick!!! I was SO upset last night and unbelievably disappointed. Stefan is whiny and annoying. I'm so over he and Elena. Damon is actually interesting and OH those eyes!! So Yea...not happy at all with this episode. And it started out so good too....P.S. Klaus and Caroline are awesome together!!!! Goodbye Tyler!

I agree that this Elena is sired thing is just a cheap trick (despite the fact that it has been mentioned before) to keep dragging the love triangle out because they can't think of anything else to do with these 3 when they're interacting with each other. It's the exact same reason Elena just can't love both of them, because then what else would these terrible writers (at love stories anyway) have Damon, Stefan and Elena do on this show? [Sarcasm] After all, Damon, Stefan, and Elena exist purely for the triangle and they can't possibly ever resolve it like mature people.[Sarcasm off]
I've always hated love triangles because they make no sense whatsoever, especially in this day and age when things like open marriage, while uncommon, happen all over the world all the time.
Everything else with the show is fine really, but this love triangle nonsense has always dragged TVP down, and unless they fix it TVP will never reach true greatness

@Anna I am sorry to disagree. U cannot judge what kind of feelings Damon & Elena have for each other, because they are never able to explore it... it is just what the writers give us. In the other hand, try to see the big picture, when Elena is in trouble, she ALWAYS (human or vamp) asks for Damon, or he just appears out of the blue and saves her, and we have been seeing the love grow between them through all 3 past seasons, so I honestly doubt it is only sexual. I do think with time we will learn more about Damon's past and maybe that will show us the real kinder side of him. He does deserve to be happy.

Are all of you Delena fans forgetting what happened at the end of season 3? Elena chose Stefan, again, right before the crash. Stefan and Elena have true love beyond sex and clearly all Damon and Elena just have sexual tension and you can tell by the way they had sex. Just accept it already Delena fans. It will always be Stefan!!

My favorite part of TVD by far is Damon and Elena's relationship (team Delena 4ever over here. So, I was beyond thrilled to see what I thought was the beginning of them becoming a couple. Unfortunately, I fear their pairing will be short lived once Elena realizes she's sired to Damon. I really want these two to have a chance to be together. Hopefully, this will be more than a tease for all of the Delena fans and instead a long lasting pairing for these two. We've waited four years for this.I bet real life couple Ian and Nina probably enjoyed doing that love scene together! They've certainly had enough practice.

I absolutely agree - I am so frustrated with the writers and overall direction of TVD at this point. They completely ruined Damon and Elena's first time and you can never get that back. There were no declarations of feelings (indeed no talking at all - just Wham, Bam, Thank You Maam vampire sex) of any kind. With the way Damon feels about her and has been hoping for this moment - for years now - I just refuse to believe his character wouldn't want the moment to be slow and utterly romantic so he could enjoy every second of finally getting his hearts desire. Going from zero to sixty without so much as an I love you or endearment of any kind? Definitely not romantic. And then to further cheapen an already ruined scene they throw in the sire nonsense. Seriously, wtf?! Do they WANT people to stop watching :(

I agree that the whole sire bond thing may drag out the love triangle but I think this is a nice twist. As Caroline said, it happens sometimes, not always but sometimes. And other shows such as True Blood and Buffy/Angel also worked with the problems of a sire bond and I for sure think it's interesting. Currently i am not a fan of either Stelena och Delena but as Elena is a doppleganger, why can't this sire bond happen withe her? Most of us figured there would be something different with her since she was one. With Katherine we don't really knew how she got through nut she got away from Rose. I am Highly intrigued by this and I really don't think it will take any screen time from Jeremy and the Haley/Shane thing! As for the Klarorline screen time, they can take all! I hate Klaroline!! I want Forewood! Wit this said, I think this episode was one of the better ones, I was not bored this time!

to the reviewer about the vampire sire bond, did you completely forget everything we were told about siring last season. way back when everyone had just found out tyler was sired to klaus it was mentioned that sometimes when someone becomes a vampire they develop a sire bond to the person who turned them it was rare but it happened, and at first that's what they thought had happened to tyler and then they worked out that every hybrid klaus creates is sired to him. so the lore of a vampire being sired to another vampire has been well established within the tv show and its a fairly common thing to find in any vampire or werewolf book.
elena's feelings for damon have been made clear to viewers long before she was turned and i dont think being sired to damon has effected her feeling towards him, just her food prefrences and some other small stuff.
also im loving jeremy's storyline, i had always wanted him to be a vampire back in the day's of anna, then i was hopeing for a cool hunter

Just read all the comments, unfortunately we are on a one week hiautus. Unfortunately, I have turned into a Delena shipper because I am finding Stefan a little sanctimonious this year, esp when it comes to vampire Elena. As for Caroline and Stefan's theory that Elena is sired to Damon, Caroline was turned with Damon's blood in her and she still hates his guts, Elena has always had a 'special bond'with Damon (I know that sounds lame) since she was human (since season one actually),and that has grown since Season Three. It seems as though Stefan and Caroline are trying to find excuses for them, but I have to watch the episode first. Just a thought, if Delena does happen, will that affect Elena's choice if a cure is found to turn her back to human.
