The Walking Dead > The Walking Dead Review: Team Prison or Team Woodbury? > Comments Page 2
Perhaps it was Carl's last teacher before the world went bonkers!
TV fanatic, I think it's time you changed most of your headers. Even for other shows. This isn't working.
Nathaniel, you're one of those Shane lovers right?
It's the zombie apocalypse, he will do what he has to to keep HIS group alive. And he isn't morally bankrupt. He's just accepted that some people will have to die. After what the crazy prison guy did, Rick was right to be wary. Yes, he should have killed him right away, but he was giving him a shot, and he learned his lesson. Rick is an amazing leader, he keeps his group alive through thick and thin, he gives them hope, and he is definitely ethical himself. Just wait and watch. No one does it better than he does because he never puts on any pretence, he's accepted the world for what it is, and he isn't sugercoating anything for anyone anymore.
This review stated that the episode reaffirmed why Rick and his crew are the good guys. Please remind me why this is so? Rick is pretty much morally bankrupt at this point, and he proved this episode that he is willing to slay another (potentially innocent person) without a second thought if he perceives a threat. He is a hothead, and makes split-second poor decisions that hurt people in the short and long-term. Had he tried to reason with Andrew instead of assuming he would be a threat and seemingly arranging his demise, his wife may still be alive (certainly T-dog would be). It seems that one of the themes of this showed that attempting to be ethical in a post-apocalyptic environment means certain death (take a stand, like Dale or T-Dog, and die). What a nihilistic outlook; I refuse believe that the cold foolishness that Rick has demonstrated this season is the only way to viably survive in such an environment. I certainly do not consider him a good guy...
Is it just me or has ANYONE else noticed that this show has to be THE FASTEST HOUR on television! Can't believe how fast it goes by. My gut is telling me that when the brothers meet the advantage will be with Darryl. Simply because he was a follower with Merle. he will find it hard to believe that Darryl has evolved into a leader and that will throw off his game. At the prison the gates should still be locked. That should give early warning to everyone inside.just because he's crippled doesn't mean he can't shoot a gun. they have the advantage of being on the inside. Not much to hide behind close to the doors. They will be sitting ducks. Think it's to soon to lose the love birds but with this show, you just don't know. never read the comics so don't have a clue. Just wish the show wasn't that fast!! Turn around twice, drink of water and the next thing I know,i'm watching previews for next week!!!
I agree Al, what is going to happen back at the prison? Poor Carl! Not that I don't think he will kill some bad guys. I hope they keeping an eye out while Rick and the rest are gone.
Darryl and Merle. Yikes! I'm torn. Merle obviously wants to see his brother but he may think Darryl will come join the crazies. I don't think Darryl will turn on his friends.
Poor Glenn and Maggie! I too was afraid of what the Gov might do. Glenn is some kind of bad ass. It looks like in the preview that Andrea is going to turn on Rick's group.
Cannot wait till next week!!!
maybe bitchy was the wrong word ;-) I haven't read the comics, just happen to know some parts because others mentioned them. And after all the build-up and people being so excited about Michonne being in the show I guess I expected something more than ... well, than her being wary like a watch-dog.
What a situation!! The evil SOB governor is sending scouts to the prison and it is held by a kid, a cripple and not much else! I thought that Maggie was going to be raped as well. Sending the walker in to feast on Glenn was very clever. When Merle and Daryl go head to head my money is on Daryl, he has a lot to pay him back for. The governor is a super villian, the guy is so vile and slimey I can't wait till Rick kills him. I still like little kick ass for a name.
I agree with Neejan....I really like Glen and Maggie and don't want to see their run end this soon.....PLEASE keep them around!! I would LOVE to see Daryl take out his brother; even though I know it will be hard on him; I like the person he has evolved into without Merle. Wasn't too thrilled with the name the baby scene either and I think they could do A LOT BETTER than Judith...what about naming the child after the mother who gave her life bringing her into the world????
I was revved up and then it finish. Same thing happened with Red Dawn. Although we get more TWD next week and same the thing can't be said for RD.
Daryl and Merle confrontation, MAN I'm nervous for Daryl.
@Neejan , Agree.
@Terrie, Firefox has an Add-On call Adblock Plus.
Saw this in "The Deadnecks" group on FB -Tyreese wasn't in this episode. The bowman walking away from the barricades was Shupert played by Travis Love. Tyresse will be played by Chad Coleman from The Wire.
The whole naming the baby Judith seemed forced to me. I mean why did Carl want to name her after his 3rd grade teacher? He didn't say she was his favorite teacher or she was a strong woman or anything else that would make us know why he thought it was a good name.
They better not kill off Glenn and Maggie!!!
RE: Cabin Scene - I think the scene was necessary for the reaction shot of the ex-prisoner in their group as he realizes how expedient they are with the lives of people that aren't members of their group, and what that might mean in the long run for him and his fellow ex-prisoner.
I don't think Daryl and Merle confrontation will be easy.......Daryl will be torn while Merle just won't give a damn...........
If ya'll saw TALKING DEAD last night, you saw that next week Michonne finds The Governors daughter........what's going to happen there???? And just WHY would Michonne be there by herself.....
NOTE TO TV FANATIC YES you do need to change the cover photo for this show. And can you PLEASE do something about the CONTINUOUS POP UP
Oh yeah, TEAM PRISON, too..........
Reviewer mentioned the scientific aspect...of course I went to see Breaking Dawn Part 2 and in the trailers for new movies coming out....there IS a zombie movie coming out on this very issue. It focuses on HOW to cure a young boy zombie and it seems to use love.....can't remember the name of the movie right now......
VERY solid episode this week...... after next week how long until it's back on? March?
Michonne doesn't trust anybody and she's better for that.......
Andrea.......ugh ...is all I can say
Glenn and Maggie shined this week........Glenn is a future leader of the pack He's proven that several times over now....
The Governor is a sicko.....there was no need, albeit for his power trip for him to do Maggie the way he did when he had just bumped uglies with Andrea......
I like everyone else am waiting with baited breath for the confrontation between Rick and The Governor and Merle and Daryl......
Merle finally returned to being.....Well Merle.
They dropped the ball with the Govenor not rapeing Maggie.....It really should of happened in this episode so my hate of the Govenor chould start to fester. At this point i should be hating his guts but i dont.
Another great ep. I also thought that was Tyreese at the end. In earlier eps when Andrea and Michonne first arrived at Woodbury, you can notice him watching her. I don't understand why everyone is saying Michonne is so bitchy? The dead are walking around and eating people and whoever is alive is trying to stay that way by any means necessary. Until she met up with Andrea, she was surviving alone. She has every right not to trust a single word anyone says and be wary of any groups. Though I believe she's leaning more towards Rick's group as was stated. Rick isn't spewing sunshine out of his mouth. I wonder how the stand off will go between Daryl and Merle. The group has shown Daryl more compassion and what a family is more than Merle ever has. Like they say, you can't pick your family, but you can pick your friends!
San, I thought that was Tyreese as well! And I don't think Michonne's bitchy. She just has her guard up. And she's right to do that. She'll probably relax once the fight's over and she's officially part of the Rick group. She does in the comic anyway.
The end beat was driving me insane in a really good way. I kept saying "please don't end here, please don't end here, please don't end here." But of course they ended there. UGH.
The chick who plays Maggie did great acting today. I loved the way she tenses up when the door opens.
Carol and Rick hugging was so sweet. As was Daryl calling her "poor thing."
And I cannot wait for the showdown between Daryl and Merle.
Do you guys think that'll happen this coming week or will the drive me insane by making me wait even longer?
The Governor is such a sick bastard. When he brought Maggie in the same room with Glenn, I half expected him to rape her there. *shudder* That was definitely a lot more uncomfortable than Merle "interrogating" Glenn. On the other hand, how bad-ass is Glenn? I just love how he took that walker down. He won't be dying anytime soon. Robert Kirkman, himself, said that the reason Glenn doesn't shine in the comics anymore is because show-Glenn did such an amazing job that the comic-Glenn pales in comparison. So he's definitely staying, and if he is, Maggie is probably too.
C'mon I prefer Ass-Kicker to Judith.
Michonne saying thank you to Herschel really made me smile.
New prison guy being all grossed out by Michonne killing that other guy while the others didn't even flinch was a welcome reminder to how far they've come, and what they've had to do to survive.
That song was annoying as hell.
The end beat was driving me insane in a really good way. I kept saying "pl
I CAN'T WAIT ANOTHER WEEK. THIS IS KILLING ME.
I was very alert throughout the whole episode, everything almost seemed to be moving too slow, y'know? But of course, they paced it just right. (Except for every scene with Andrea in it, just seeing her face annoys me.)
The experiments weren't really interesting, didn't we already establish at the CDC that every human part of the brain dies?
I loved all the Rick and Michonne scenes, when they stare each other down. They really played this right. Also loved Daryl and Rick, and Rick and Carl. And I actually had tears when Carol met up with the rest of the group.
I liked last week's episode very much. But this one didn't grow on me. I can't even say why exactly - maybe because we already had build-up seven days ago, maybe because I thought Andrea's scenes were even more boring than before, maybe because I'm tired of Michonne's bitchy behavior... I don't know, but this episode just didn't work for me.
Did we already get a glimpse of Tyreese? When Rick's group was outside Woodbury, the camera moving over the wall and finally focussing on Andrea - I thought the guy coming down the wall kinda looked like the actor who's been cast as Tyreese.
I agree the scene with Maggie and the Governor was very intense. Also those with Merle and Glenn. But that's not enough for me this week I guess ;-) Especially because of that weird scene with the Walkers and the cabin. To me it seemed like the writers remembered: "Oh wait, we need some Zombieaction in this episode, let us add it ...... there!"
Really hope Maggie and Glenn make it, they are the necesary hope in the midts of all the horror and lonelines, besides Lauren Cohan is so insanely hot that it would be just a shame if she doesnt at least make it through all season, and Glenn is the comic guy, and also a real badass, hope they dont feel the need to kill one of them for just the sake of killing someone on the mid season finale or to make the other one stronger and all that crap. If someone has to die in next episode, make it that scientist guy, the Governor, Merle or even that prision dude who is new.
Also Scott Wilson is not on the main credits, so i guess he is not going to make it pass next episode, maybe on the walker attack he will die saving Litte Ass Kicker.
