Political Animals will not be returning for a second season.

The Sigourney Weaver-driven drama earned critical reviews, but only averaged 2.1 million viewers per week during its six episode run this summer. And TV Line now confirms that there will be no more stories told about Elaine Barrish and her family.

“We are proud of Political Animals, our miniseries that attracted critical acclaim and impacted the cultural conversation this summer,” USA said in a statement. “It was a pleasure to work with Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and a powerful cast led by Sigourney Weaver. We look forward to collaborating again with these immensely talented creatives.”

Earlier this week, the network also canceled Fairly Legal and Common Law.

Darn it, I really like Sebastian Stan

I was thinking the same thing DeeC!I hope they snatch sebastian up and make him a regular on OUAT.He and jennifer morrison have sizzling chemistry and I love the mad hatter!

Ugh why? I think if they'd have gave it some time it would have been a true hit with the ratings. I really enjoyed watching it. Sebastian Stan, Barrish., and Weaver were awesome!

A little disappointing, but not all that surprising. Hopefully, Sebastian Stan will join Once Upon A Time as a regular now. Would love to see him as the Mad Hatter every week on my TV!
