@citii if you saw in the earlier half of the finale where dan revealed this to be the scene where him n serena first talk n meet and where he fell in love with her
Jenny was such an important character in the first seasons... why didn't they allow Jenny to say something useful at the end?... Lol or anything at all in fact?!... I love how they tried to age Eric with his goatee... and all the other 'business men' of GG look like they are still straight out of High School 5 years on - VFX ppl cmon!! I think Serena has worn better dresses in her average night out... it didn't sit well, and also why on earth did they get married in that strange little living room, it was weird...
I love Georgina, she was still awesome! Dorota is epic, with her vodka! I loved Blair's line, 'I always thought it was Dorota!' I'm glad it was Dan... that was cool. I like Serena & Dan and Chuck and Blair. I liked seeing Nate as a successful businessman at the end, not attached to a manipulative woman... ironic and all but fun!

The girl that Rufus was with reminds me of the IT specialist that works for the Queen Corporation, in Arrow...

it's definitely Jack Bass.. I wonder where's Milo?! I am shocked Lily got back with William. After all he's done, really? And I thought the kiss meant her and Rufus were back together. This was perhaps the biggest disappointment for me. And who's the very random woman Rufus was with now? No way. Terrible ending.
Chair is the best couple, as usual. It was beautiful to see them together, in love, with a son, I teared up when the kid ran up to Chuck. Finally it's just about them, no issues, no obstacles, no pacts, etc. Just them being a family and living happily ever after.
I'll miss the show, it really is the end of an era.

I am SO disappointed. So many great things, I cried like a baby at times, but boy - are there some really crappy ones in there!
First, Serena and Dan, really? Sorry, but after season 1 I never really bought these two, and this attempt of making it look like it's all good and OK is just riddiculous. They said they'd be going back to the start and the pilot, well, there it was pretty clear that Nate was deeply in love with her, she's the love of his life and frankly, he's the one man who's ever loved her for what she is (which seemed to be what she wanted all along). Sorry, I may not be one of many, but I'm definitely not happy about this endgame.
Secondly, as happy as I am to see Nate being successful and happy, why does he always have to be alone.. I mean, surely 5 years down the line he'd deserve to find someone who loves him without having some scheme in mind?
As for the other couples revealed in the flash forward.. well, I think that if there's a match for Georgina out there it's

It is actually pretty sad the depths they had to go to redeem Dan. He being GG might make a little sense if you put a lot of stuff aside, yes, but "not enough" if you've been re-watching the whole series for the past weeks. Not to mention the keeping Rufus and Lily apart for Derena's sake-- but really, putting Lily with William when we know he's the biggest con artist ever (I hope at least the fans haven't forgotten how low he'd gotten on season 3) was just awful. It all felt rushed, they wasted so much time with pointless storylines during this season and they didn't give us nearly enough interaction between the core characters, namely Blair, Serena, Nate and Chuck together. I had such high expectations - final season, ten episodes, of course they'll focus on the main characters and do the right thing - boy, was I wrong.

LOL cut off again. Apparently, the system doesn't like when I make a heart with characters.
Anyway, I liked Dan's close-cropped hair in the flashbacks.
In the end, the finale was rather anti-climactic.

Btw Serena and Blair looked heavenly in their weddings. I caught Nate alone, Georgina with Jack, Rufus with a random woman and Lily with William. Is that all?

It was so.. satisfying. Of course I would have hoped for Serena and Nate but her marrying Dan in the end just made perfect sense. Chair of course was a given and I was honestly disputing the idea that Dan would be Gossip Girl - I was expecting Jenny all along. Overall I think they did a good job in the finale, especially in the final scenes when everyone was actually happy and friendly (how long has it been?). Not the finale I expected from the start, but good job. Now if only we didn't have to go through the fifth season to get here.

LOL Chuck had the most correct line of the night, when he asked Blair if her life was REALLY ruined by GG.
Jack--looked awful. What was up with that hair and that awful suit?
Jenny--looked awful, too. Her hair looked worse than it ever did.
Who was Rufus with? I couldn't place the character??
Blair--looked stunning. What a gorgeous gown and tiara/headband.
Serena--also looked stunning!
Dan--not so much, although I

Oh writers you seriously think I´m gonna buy that Serena happily agreed to marry Dan after ALL OF THAT CRAP he spent years saying about her? you never recalled there was also the option to reunite her with Nate, who just casually happens to be the only one of her boyfriends who didn´t screw her over? and you didn´t even pair Nate up! seriously who hired you guys?
lolGG

My god, some of you need to calm down its a TV show. I would have still preferred the ending where they all end up dying on a plane crash, but I guess this was a good ending as well. Also, the Bass baby looked a little inbred.

I liked the episode.
But I'm really angry, mad and disappointed about Rufus and Lily not being together in the end
They were the reason for me to watch the show for 6 years, and they didn't even get back together... so I'm pissed about that
And can't believe she got back together with Willian, he's a jerk and Rufus is the love of her life, they have been in love for more than 20 years
Really love the part while everyone says their thoughts in who was Gossip girl

Great review!! And perfect ratings by the editor, Come on fans 3 stars from you guys really? I used to be a GG fan back when the show started and I was hooked to it, but I stopped watching early season 2. However I always liked the show I just never found myself catching up again. I did however tuned to the last two episode and even though the finale did felt a little rushed, I still loved and think that it had a great ending, even though Nate stayed alone And Dan was GG? Never saw that one coming haha overall great finale will miss GG. XOXO

you need to chill @WTF listen I get it ok I get it at this point Derena as endgame was laughable and until today it doesn´t make sense why they pretended Serenate never happened, I agree Nate was the better choice for Serena, what I meant was none of this is real! and you were never a writer of the show so it wasn´t even in your hands, what I meant was we all knew Dan was it for Serena because Serenate got swept under the rug after season 3, I also agree Serenate should´ve been endgame so there´s no need to be rude.
WTF
December 18th, 2012 7:37 AM
Excuse me @Marcebass for wanting this show to make a little sense! if it was Chair the couple who got fucked up because of that joke (Derena) what would you say then?

"Jenny, Eric, and Vanessa had split second scenes. Anyone wish they would have made more of an appearance?" - That's an understatement. Nevertheless, least they were confirmed alive. Overall, the finale made sense, but I was still kind of disappointed. I feel as though it could have been better, but it was one of the best episodes of the season so one can't really complain. They did what they could with what they had.

bittersweet ending for me I wanted Serenate, but I laughed so hard with the GG suspects and loved Chair´s wedding. I think it was a good finale not great because of DS wedding but good and funny.
