I like how most of the people on the round table didn't acknowledge all the loopholes of Dan being GG? Just doesn't make crap sense.
The whole motive behind it all makes sense, but the way things went in all 6 seasons don't make it work.

i so wanted more CHAIR scenes! the DAN-SERENA wedding? WTF?? i hate it! if i rate it, only 7 unlike season 1 and 2 finale:(

..CHAIR ending was the best part of the finale...and these two were the only reasons for watching the show all along. serena and dan were a big disappointment though..turned me off big time. But who cares about thosre two...CHAIR forever !!
P.S. does anyone know what georgina was carrying in that big box???????/ did I miss it or what :/

I give the series finale a 3 because even though Gossip Girl was finally revealed, it was a letdown to me BIG TIME. My favorite couple Chair got a happy ending but my other favorite couple Serenate didn't get a happy ending. Where was the love for us Serenate fans? You guys let us down in a major way.

@Tinkelbell90 Thank you! I just read the interview with Stephanie Savage where she answers every question. Dan was almost revealed as GG in the pilot so they had to do some editing. Also J for Waldorf on the bag was real.
For the person who "weeps for humanity" because all of us liked the ending- get a grip it's a television show. We take it for what it is and look for the good. Get over the negativity.

Oh and I really liked Season 5, end of the affair and GG are my favorites, Ed & Leighton did an amazing acting job-I could feel the emotion!

This episode was a 10! I am 38 years old and obsessed with the show. I began watching it in the middle of season 4-as I watched 90210 with my kids and the commercials with Chair always intrigued me. I spend this past summer watching the eps I missed from the first 3 1/2 seasons. I thought it all ended splendid and who cares if Serena forgave Dan so quick, as we speak I am watching Season 5-G.G. and Serena just told Dan she loves him. So obvi they were meant to be together. She is always quick to forgive.
The only thing I wish, they would have had less Carrie Diaries commercials and more Chair moments, especially with Henry. I loved in the Derena wedding, the pics of Chair and their life together (all of their pics were behind where Rufus and Lisa Loeb were sitting). I loved both of B's dresses, especially the wedding dress, it was 1000 times better than Serena's.
I am going to miss this show so much. Now I will sit with my kids (whom are teens) and watch 90210 only to

LOL only in tvfanatic will you find fans and reviewers who actually thought this was a good finale. You guys are contented with the merest thing right? As long as Chair and Derena get to kiss, you'll never feel like this show insulted your intelligence (beginning to even doubt it exists). Come on, Serena marrying the sociopath who basically made her lifehell in high school. Must be love, awww. Despite that Dan being Gossip Girl is utterly ridiculous, it is still canon and yet, Serena just swallows it pretty well. Wait, I know what Derena fans will say about this: "Serena is the only girl who has ever loved him. She accepts him. That means they are meant to be. First love last!"

Love reading all the comments! I didn't start watching Gossip Girl until THIS SUMMER. Seriously I'd never seen a single episode and watched Season's 1-5 all the way through, like 3 shows per day while I was nursing my son on maternity leave. From my perspective, the series got slightly stale in parts of Season 3 and Season 4, but I loved the dark themes in Season 5 and the Season 5 acting was great. Overall, I think people are wrong about consistency. All of the main characters (except Nate) have complexities that were quite consistent throughout the series, and all of them developed well. Character development isn't a one-direction trajectory - it takes twists and turns and even goes backwards sometimes. Just as we all do as we mature.
Whoa! Been recapping GG Season 2 the first few epds and it does make some sort of sense that Dan was Gossip Girl all along..hmmm..I can believe it! The finale was alright but the best seasons of this show had long gone and it was the right time for it to come to an end.

@ DanVenezuela The Derena wedding was at Chuck and Blairs home, the toys that lil henry and dorota were cleaning up where his, theres a childs easel in the background with what i persume is one of his drawings (super cute) and theres a clear wedding pic of CB kissing and baby henry in the cluster of photos behind rufus when hes sitting.

wow...finally its over...what a long six years had been for Gossip Girl..for me the ending was perfect..Chair endgame and be parents..Henry Bass..what a cute little boy..so much like Chuck..and everyone get their happy ending..so sad because after this no more GG which had been part of my teenage world ..now can't believe everyone had grown up...no more checking on spoilers for GG every year since 2007..haha..guess every story must comes to an end...goodbye Gossip Girl..u'll always be one of my favorite teen show...xoxo =)

7th This is the final of series and deserves a 10, because all that mattered was put into place, Serena and Dan, Chuck and Blair are married, Nate became a successful businessman, Georgina and Jack are together (should before)! Although there is a big downside as Lily and Rufus are not together, and a big mistake that William and Lily are together! But naturally it never can please everyone!

Dan is ultimate winner because he managed to outplay them all and get the girl he always wanted - Serena!
3rd The most beautiful moment of was the wedding of Chuck and Blair, and five years later the family Bass together - Chuck, Blair and their son Henry! Perfect!
4th It was final time to fairy tale of Dan and Serena to end up with a fairytale wedding! Finally it happened a wedding of Serena and Dan that I waited 6 seasons - beautiful and memorable!
5th There is no doubt that Serena was the best dressed at her wedding, because her wedding dress symbolized everything that is connected with the love of her and Dan! Naturally, actress Blake is beautiful and whatever she put on it she looks gorgeous!
6th If it had been more time then it would certainly Jenny and Eric had a bigger role, but this much is enough because all who, since the beginning were important, were at the wedding of Serena and Dan, ie. the end of the series!
7th This is the final of series and deserves a 10,

The episode is great, it's the end of what series deserves! At every the end it feels sorrow because there will be no new developments in favorite series, but life goes on!
1st Favorite scene is, of course, the wedding of Serena and Dan, there are no surprise of that! Finally the fairy tale about Serena and Dan got a happy ending! Favorite quote when Dorota asks Jack to make her a vodka on the rocks and three olives, hilarious!
2nd For me, it is surprise that Dan was GG, but probably because I did not take into account that he may be GG, because of what happened in the episode 6x08! But now that the cat is out of the bag, the writers have managed to link it that makes sense that from a beginning Dan was a GG! It is particularly well-recorded scene when Dan and Serena first time meet at the birthday 2005, as Dan’s an explanation of why he became GG - at the end it came down to love an ordinary boy from Brooklyn with a beautiful girl from Manhattan! Dan is ultimate winner

Since the last episode of Gossip Girl Season 2 it was obvious that GG was Dan. Why on earth would he appear the first one? or he'd write such good things about himself?

Okay, the best thing for me was Rachel Bilson cameo. Playing Blair based on Dan's book - amazing! Love how they refer to the O.C. which was also Schwartz's show with that: You're too old for teen :)
And, i don't want to know why they live here, why this, why that, I just had a two questions:
1) WHO t f is Chuck's mum?????
2) What the hell happend to Dan's and Serena's brother???

At the end of that episode Serena goes to Dan to tell him he was right about "her world", and he's at that point of the show totally in love with her. So she sits next to him and then the GG voice-over tells: "as for me I'm happy right where I am, I only want to be with you", and you see Dan sitting next to Serena, felling obviously totally happy. If you know GG is Dan, it's a major clue I think :) Because it actually didn't make sense for an unknown GG to write that line, while when you know it's Dan, it's a perfect fit :)

Loved Chuck's and Blair's happy ending! My favorite seasons were s1,s2 and first half of s3. After what happened with Chuck and Blair and the hotel in s3, I felt that the show was losing its style,character and prestige. There were many thinks in the plot that I didn't like. Despite that, the finale reminded me all the nice moments I really liked:) I will def miss Chuck Bass!xoxo

Whoa! Been recapping GG Season 2 the first few epds and it does make some sort of sense that Dan was Gossip Girl all along..hmmm..I can believe it! The finale was alright but the best seasons of this show had long gone and it was the right time for it to come to an end.
