NCIS Episode Preview: "Shabbat Shalom"

by at . Comments

NCIS returns next Tuesday with what looks like an emotional episode.

In "Shabbat Shalom," the team investigates the link to a dead journalist and a Navy petty officer, while Ziva is taken aback by a sudden visit by her father, who she hasn't seen in more than two years.

Ziva is understandably suspicious and questions the purpose of her dad's visit, but Mossad director Eli (played by Michael Nouri) insists he is in the U.S. strictly to see his daughter for Shabbat dinner.

Is there more to it, or is he really there to make amends and that's it?

I know that Trent Kort took the rap for killing Jeanne Benoit's father (I think Gibbs had kind of black-mailed him though) but in the end it WAS Jenny that killed him. At the end of that ep Gibbs remembered that she had thrust the gun to Rene to "protect himself" but he refused it & layed it back on her desk. Long live the queen! Or am I wrong?

With the new turn of events I think the writers would do good to bring back Colonel Mann, to help with the investigation.. I beleive she is Gibbs' contemproary and fits in well with all the NCIS team members...Ziva make the team completely mesh and Mann and Fernell round everything out.

And Michael, NCIS will end when either the creators decide to or the fans do. And the fans option is a no go as 15 to 20 million people watch NCIS every week. And stop talking like you speak for 15 to 20 million people. You may be right, but you don't know that. Plus you are outright making stuff up. If you are going to lie, at least misconstrue what is fact like it was a misunderstanding. Really, your comments do nothing to help your image and I'm trying to be kind here, but... ugh... it's frustruating.

There were never any hints that Jenny let the fact that she was a woman run her job. Perhaps she didn't want people to belitle her because she was a woman. And finally Jenny most certainly never loved Jeanne's father. She hated him, since she thought he killed her father. However, the fact that came out was not that Renne killed himself, the fact that came out was that Trent Kort killed him due to his undercover job. I believe Ducky ruled out suicide. However, it is heavily implied that Jenny did indeed kill Renne, however she did not use NCIS to do. She did attempt at one point, but that ended when Kort caught on to the scheme. Also, now that I think about it, Lee appeared during Jenny's tenure, but I'm not sure she hired her and if she did, she would have had no idea that Lee was a spy.

@Carol Michael is wrong on all accounts. I don't remember a case of two terrorists during Jenny's tenure at NCIS. I think Michael may be confusing the time when Vance put the three agents (Lee and the two males whose names I don't remember) so Gibbs could find the traitor which ended up being Lee who killed on of the male agents framing him as a traitor. Jenny is not evil for the reasons Michael says. She didn't let Ari go free. Both the FBI and Mossad claimed Ari was innocent and she just can't go against two agencies just because she trusts Gibbs. To be continued...

@Michael Where do you get your information? If you are talking about Jeanne Benoit's father, than he killed himself. Jenny had a good chance to kill him when he was in her study asking for protection. She let him go without protection. After some deliberation, the fact was brought to light that he killed himself. When you mentioned the 2 terrorists, do you mean to say against the team? This could make the difference. Kate was killed by Ari who Ziva killed in Gibbs' basement. In Season 1, Kate could have killed him, but didn't.
If my information is wrong, someone please correct me, other than Michael.
Maybe we can have another point of view on this topic.

@Jane Not beyond the realm of possibility, although judging from what the assassin told Gibbs and Ziva, it would seem that if what you are saying is true, then they decided that getting Eli made it a "twofer". Since he appeared to be from the Middle East, my guess is they were going after Eli. But what if they were doing so in order to gain revenge against Ziva?

What if Eli David wasn't the intended target of the assassination, but just someone in the wrong place at the wrong time? It makes no sense to kill off Jackie Vance ... unless she may have been the intended victim. Maybe it's some revenge for someone that Leon killed years ago. Maybe someone wants Leon distracted.

Michael, if there is one thing that I have learned, it's that you don't know a lot about the show you claim to love so much.

Michael, first of all, Jenny wasn't evil. Secondly, all things end. All TV shows end. Some end too soon, some end at just the right moment, some hang on and around too long. We'll see which of the last two NCIS chooses.

NCIS Season 10 Episode 11 Quotes

Leon Vance: So. We'll still have the house to ourselves after dinner right?
Jackie Vance: You had your shot, baby.

Leroy Gibbs: Leon?
Leon Vance: She's dead. My wife is dead, Gibbs.
