Well, I thought Tony was wonderful and very caring. I didn't find it romantic (and am not in favor of "Tiva); better that they be very good friends even if they move on to romance later.

I thought this was an excellent episode, and the small humorous bit relieved the tension.
It was a bit predictable that it was the Mossad Deputy, possibly because Ziva had such a strong reaction to it. Granted, I get her line about her being "blood" and not someone who has wormed his way in. It was so touching that she was the only one her father had left of his family, and now, with his death, she's alone (I know, I know, she's got the Gibbs-team/family).
Jewish wedding ceremonies are not held like that. For one, you need at least 10 people to say the Mourners' Kaddish (mourners' prayer. But perhaps because Eli's death was still a secret, she had to conduct it this way. (I don't think she was just planting an olive tree because the dirt was only on one side). She wouldn't put up a gravestone at this time because in Judasim, we wait about a year. The knife was clearly revenge. (I read that pieces of this story will play out over the season, so that will probably come up.)

I thought it was an excellent episode. These past two ones have been freaken awesome. I thought the interactions between Gibbs and Vance were interesting though.
And I'm really hoping that Cote doesn't leave the show. There was a lot of speculation last year that Dempsey was going to leave Greys Anatomy last year and they just signed him to another contract just in time. Might be the same way for Cote.

I loved this episode and give it 5 stars. Just everything about it was done so well. I specifically liked the Tiva, that, for once, wasn't just romance but friendship with a small touch of romance. I, like a lot of Tiva shippers, want to see them bond a lot more/
Wasn't CI-Ray arrested in "A Desperate Man"?
Not sure what happened to Trent Kort, though.

Had to watch this twice. First time, hated it. Second time, loved it. LOL I do still have some problems and questions about it. First, Tony yelling at Ziva to greive a certain way. The second, and most important, is that no one went with Ziva to Israel. Gibbs said that she was a target when explaining what went down to Kazmi. Also, there has to be more then Bodnar involved, like maybe the NCIS DD. First, the file from the Iranian was missing some key parts, but more importantly, how was Bodnar tipped off NOT to go to Tony's? He knew where Ziva was and was on his way to meet her and then doesn't show up? He wanted to get rid of her cause she could make the connection (and with Gibbs help she did), but somehow he knew that his cover was blown and that Gibbs and Tony were on the way and goes underground? Something is fishy here. The NCIS DD seemed too comfortable in Vance's chair. lol

So enamored, seeing such radiance, feeling such sorrow for the loss of Jackie. The natural glow through those eyes could light up the room. Searching for any sign of her that lingers.
This was a very very good one loved it
questions where is Palmer???
why didn't someone go with Ziva someone should of went with her!!!
Was that a traditional Jewish burial to the book or did she not do something??

I must admit, I was leary of this 2-episode arc turning into the Tiva-show. And am glad that it did not. Tony proved that he was a good 'friend' and I saw no hint of romance at all --although I know that the Tiva fans probably view this as the culmination of all they have been waiting for. And if that happens, which I pray it doesn't, then NCIS will have one less fan watching each week. But Ms De Pablo did an exemplary job in these eps, which trust me, means a lot coming from me, because I really don't like her or her character. Tony, finally, was not the comic relief, but one of the main strengths. I, along with several others, believe that Schmiel had something to do with Eli's death. I look forward to seeing how Vance handles all this, and loved the non-verbal admonishment from Gibbs that Leon had more important things to worry about then revenge. I hope they do some good scenes between Leon and his kids, that would be cool. Tony and Gibbs would both be good confidants for th

I totally agree with Blu in everything you said about this episode. Ducky was awesome, and that line about who is your grandmother had me rewinding to see it twice. I also loved that Tony was such a perfect gentleman and phenominal friend in this episode. You could tell how much he loves her with everything he did, including holding her hand after a nightmare. And Rocky Carrol's moment with Gibbs, explaining that he now knows exactly how Gibbs felt (and why) when he took revenge for his wife and daughters death. The looks on those motherless kids faces nearly did me in. I also have to give kudos to Pauly Perette for being Abby, the hugger and cookie-baker of the group. And "Timmy" was getting flirted with for the first time in a long time, which provided some much-needed tension relief in the team. The music, particularly that final song, was amazing for this ep, too. What a wonderful show.

I was going to comment that the knife Ziva had was probably for the rending of clothes (Keriah) during Shiva -- Shiva being the name of the episode; however, when I did a google search, the info I found was that the tearing is to be done by hand, not by a knife except for people to weak to make a tear over the heart (so that there's more emotional release by the extra difficulty of ripping by hand) and is supposed to be done while standing, which she wasn't when she brought out the knife. So, I don't know if there's different information I didn't run across, if the show took license with the details, or the knife meant something else entirely. It would be pretty crazy to use a knife to dig a hole deep enough to plant a tree, especially when a shovel would likely be easier to come by???

Amazing episode yet again. Cote de Pablo is so beautiful and so talented. She's been beyond phenomenal with this arc. Her pain and vulnerability was palpable. Rock Carroll was insane in the authenticity of his anger and grief. Ducky was so awesome. That grandmother line was unquestionably his BEST line ever. I loved seeing Oded Fehr, even if he was playing a bad guy. MVP of the episode was Tony. His loyalty, concern, reverence for Ziva was beautiful. They've become so intimate that their serious scenes leave me breathless. He's being the Tony I always knew he was, I'm just glad that other fans are seeing what I seen in him since the beginning. I was wondering what he had said. So glad to finally know.

While negotiations are what they are, I believe that Cote will be back when NCIS starts its 11th season. As good as the ratings for these last two episodes have been, it's quite likely that next season or a 12th season will wrap things up. I get the sense that everybody currently with the show would like to be around for the finish.

@mac man....Question 1, we don't have any proof one way or the other if he killed the Iranian, but I think he did
Question 2, Ziva will be back in the next show and finish out the season. There is a possibility that she might not be back next year (season 11) as Cote's contract is up this May as is Marks (Gibbs).
Question 3, Ziva was planting an Olive tree in rememberance of her father.
Question 4........Who knows, but he will be back as Director as Rocky contract goes through season 11.
Question 5, I think so, but I am sure we will be see a part of her that is still "not okay".
Question 6, I am guessing that this arc will come back at the end of the season and produce the cliffhanger.

I have a few questions as well:
1. Was Bodnar responsible for killing Eli's Iranian friend

Don't know what is wrong with the other awards shows but I know that this is the best show and in my heart, they have won all the awards (each and every one of them). So many shows end after 10 years; let this show go on for another 10 please. These last 2 episodes were probably the best television broadcast to date. Thank you NCIS
