Once Upon a Time "Cricket Game" Teasers: Murder & Magic!

at . Comments

Murder and more magic are about to come to Storybrooke.

TV Fanatic was on hand yesterday at the Disney lot in Burbank, where Once Upon a Time Producers/Creators Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis offered up an invite-only screening of this Sunday’s all-new episode, "The Cricket Game."

The 2013 premiere will find Cora and Hook arriving in town, but deciding to keep a low profile (for now) so they can properly plot against our favorite residents. The big thrust of the episode in both present and past, though, is whether Regina/Evil Queen can truly change from bad to good.

Below, Kitsis and Horowitz tease five other developments sure to take viewers by storm and surprise...

Cora with Hook

Murder comes to Storybrooke. It’s never fun to watch a beloved character bite the dust, but fans will nee to prepare themselves. "We can kill anyone,” Horowitz said, half-joking, while Kitsis added: “I think death’s a big deal, obviously, and killing off a main character for us, it is obviously something we’ve done with Sheriff Graham, which I still get death threats about…”

Someone uses magic for the first time in Storybrooke. The producers were mum about how this is going to play out moving forward, but they’re excited about delving into this new arena for this character. And, of course, we’re reminded that magic always comes with a price.. and, for a change, it’s not Rumple who offers that reminder.

We Are Family! “It’s fun to see them together again,” said Kitsis about the newly reunited Charming and Snow (who we get to see getting cozy in bed!). But look for the lovebirds to adjust to being parents to Emma just as Emma will be learning the ups and downs of being a parent to young Henry.

Horowitz explained that while the first half of Once Upon a Time Season 2 dealt with the return of memories, “going forward it’s ‘well, what does this mean being a family? What does it mean being in this world with these memories? And with this new strange familial relationship and what do we want now?”

Cora works hard to get what she wants... And what she wants is to break daughter Regina and get her back on the dark side of things. You’ll see a lot of that play out in Sunday’s episode but, as Kitsis points out, “the real question is how persuasive is Cora?” Because Regina has been staying away from magic to appease Henry, he added,  “[for] somebody who has been off magic, will it return?”

Shipping!! Romance is on the horizon for many of our characters: “We’re actually going to see a lot of Rumple and Belle coming up,” said Kitsis. “The second half of the season [Rumple] is going to collect that favor for Emma and go in search of his son. He and Belle are definitely going to face definite challenges.”

And while we don’t get to see Hook and Emma interact in this Sunday’s episode, Emma will have more just one prospect in the dating department: “Emma is going to find herself with a few choices this season,” Kitsis said, confirming what we really want to know: that Hook will be keeping his ‘manliner’ once he arrives in Storybrooke. He just may need those dark sexy eyes to woo Emma, right?

Yes Yes more Captain Swan!!

I don't really see the issue with Captain Swan? In all honesty they're two broken people who have both loved and lost and they've both had people die in their arms after having their hearts crushed. The parallels between them are tremendous. To say Hook deserves no one is no different than saying Rumple deserves no one because of his crimes - yet he has Belle. Go figure.

I am so for Hook and Emma, they have such potential and there chemistry is amazing.

Captain Swan! I've fallen head-over-heels for Captain HooK! I looooveee all the potential he has, and all they can do with him, and Emma. Oh, my heart is so invested in hopes to see what that might look like!

Love me some Captain Swan, can't wait to see what they have to offer.

Hook/Emma is the worst thing that could happen. It would be laughable. They really didn't have any chemistry. The stuff between them was so forced and I cringe when I think about it. I hope the writers don't give in to the silly fangirls and try and force something more between them.
Hook is a bad guy. I don't want to see him redeemed. Let him just be a villain! It's far more fun. His and Cora's interactions have been some of the best parts of the series and I hope we see more of them being evil together. I'd take that over a yet another romance story anyday.

I agree with Pasle. And no one said anything about redeeming Cora. Don't think she would even want it because she is absolutely convinced that love is weakness. No, Hook isn't being portrayed as a hero. Where would you get that? Because some people think he should be with Emma? Regina's redemption attempts aren't going to stick. Too soon. She's trying for it for the wrong reasons and she's not remorseful in the least about what she has done. Rumple hasn't really tried to redeem himself and still refers to himself as a monster.

Emma has a few choices every f****** season. For God's sake there are other women in Storybrooke.
And Hook is not a good example of Emma's boybriend. Poor Henry!!!
Emma needs to think about Henry before getting involved with any guy, just because he's hot and wears eyeliner she gonna fall for him? This is a teenager thing not a mature woman thing... Beginning to wonder if I will continue watching Once Upon a Time, with such enthusiasm as before.
It's starting to be a disappointment. If Emma and Hook have something together or sleep together. Surely I give up. Because I could not see Emma losing maturity and rationality. Hit me if you want, but I dont like Hook for Emma's boyfriend...

Ed and Adam to forgive me. But with Emma Hook. I will never accept with or without eyeliner. Also not accept that murderers villains are redeemed. In our real world they would all be punished. There would be no arrests or punishments if they were all innocent.
Are these the values we want to teach our children?
Hook slammed Belle is a hero? Or an abusive man?
Rumpel is a murderer but because he loves Belle he becomes an angel?
Regina, killed, raped, and cursed everyone and will be redeemed by everything he did, just love it because it Henry?
And Cora? OMG I'm sad with what was far my favorite show

Once Upon a Time Quotes

True love isn't easy but it must be fought for because once you find it, it can never be replaced.

Prince Charming

Be careful. Love is a weapon, Deary. The most dangerous weapon of all which means the pain you should worry about isn't the kind inflicted by a broken sword but the kind that comes from a broken heart.
