Oh Belle :( Just when I was really really invested in Rumple and Belle's relationship, this happens! Makes me so pissed at Hook.
Why is it in all my favorite shows, someone loses their memory? (Referencing the show Chuck)
@Marisa1983 - No, the stranger isn't related to the Doctor. Remember how the curse worked - it only affected the Enchanted Forest & its residents. It doesn't cross over into other lands like Neverland or Wonderland. The reason the Doctor was shown is he'll be trying to revive the Stranger, and as the show often does, there will be flashbacks to when he tried to revive his brother in his land.
@TiffanyO - Actually, I thought Cora kidnapped Archie so she could find out more about Regina. Hook knew about Bae when Mila was alive. And, he was spying on Rumple & Belle with his telescope, which is how he discovered the location of the cloak. Hook didn't need Archie for any of that.
I was wondering who was the stranger when the promo for next week gave it all away. It has to be Dr. Whale's brother since we're revisiting Dr. Frankenstein next week. They've got to stop giving away everything in the promos! Thanfully the end wasn't in any promos, it really surprised me that Belle lost her memory. I agree with the reviewer, it was so heartbreaking. She doesn't even have a Storybrooke memory to hold on to. Can't wait to see how this will play out. Also I really missed Regina. I kept wondering was was missing the whole episode when I realised we didn't get to see her.
so i take it im in minority in finding hook a useless plotfiller to the ouat story? he bores me n needs to move on now about rumple GET OVER IT! the woman was married and had a child hook please. cora why didnt u appear to save the day for useless hook. shooting belle no need it was stupid n wished he just returned back on the ship. belle needs to either kiss or fall in love with rumple again to help break curse because with true love's kiss.......(breaks into song)
anyways when is bae gonna turn up, its tedious now why bother show us if he isn't coming. prefer phillip with mulan. want him to appear n her but not poss i kno *sigh* just don't want the show to loose it's spark n direction. august come back we miss u
For me...this episode is by far the best of season 2 till now. But again... every Rumbelle episode is an awesome episode! I loved Belle's backstory in Fairytale Land and that we got to see how Philip and Mulan got to meet each other. And ofc...the ending...i gasped in horror when Belle was shot in the back. To tell you the truth i was kind of expecting for Hook to appear out of the blue and push her over the line, but then i heard the shot and i was like ''You Motherf@@@@!!!!"
When he got hit by the car i just felt justice had been served! I really hope Neil is the one driving the car. And i hope he is Bael so that Rumpel won't have to leave Belle's side to find his son.
The whole point of kidnapping Archie was so that he could reveal what Rump's weakness was. Bae, Belle. He can't exactly do that dead.
This episode was quite a wild ride, I thought, and wonderfully acted by all the parties involved. I was glad to see some of Mulan's backstory, and I really enjoyed Belle's use of books, my favorite things, to solve the mystery of the flaming lion who was Philip. I loved seeing the Storybrooke Library (I think their elevator is pretty Steampunkish and totally cool) and I was enjoying the Charming family's debate on whether or not to go back to the enchanted forest.
I can hardly wait until the next episode, to see how RC will manage to get Belle back...I wonder if he will go find his son first?
The stranger isn't anyone important, I don't think--the fact that someone who isn't from the Enchanted lands shows up in Storybrooke, is what's important, and brings a host of questions, as evidenced by the previews.
Hook--is HOT. Colin O'Donoghue sizzles with every female he's on screen with, even Belle :)
I thought this episode was really good, and that ending wow! What will happen to Belle now - will Rumple be able to find a spell that gives her back her memories, and also who was in the car - too many questions!
I loved this episode, and I actually liked the way Hook's vengeance was resolved in the end. I was worried that Belle would be killed, but having her lose her memory was a more interesting turn of events. At least, if she falls for Rumple again, it won't be because of some residual Stockholm syndrome. Rumple was terrific in this episode (especially the scene where he kept insisting to Belle that Hook needed to die!), but I still don't feel too sorry for him, given everything he's done.
Unlike others, I thought it was nice to see the Charming family being sort of boring and normal for once! And I also liked the Enchanted Forest part and the background story with Mulan....it made me feel more invested in her character. I'm surprised this show doesn't get more awards.
@Reviewer Christine - How can you say all the action was in Storybrooke? What about the entire Mulan-Phillip backstory? Personally, I loved that part and Belle's involvement. It also clears up the timeline even more wrt how & when the EQ threw Belle into a dungeon, and when/where Mulan & Phillip live. And, FINALLY, we see Belle wearing something new, although...is cleavage really necessary when hunting a flaming lion? Well...you know what I mean. And, what a final scene! Personally, we clapped when Hook hit the car hood and went flying. How like him to shoot an unarmed girl in the back...JERK!
@Jane & Elizabeth - The creators of OUAT have stated on their weekly podcast that Rumple only had his memory of Storybrooke returned when Emma said her name to him last year. You might want to listen to their past comments about this season's episodes. I know it's confusing because that wasn't really clear to me either. But, according to them (and they write the show), Regina was the only character in Storybrooke who had her memories the entire time of its existence. She can also come & go from the town at any time (and maybe she has) and not be affected by the curse.
How did Hook know about the line anyway?
Smee was in on the plan to send her over the line earlier on, remember?
Hook's vengeance made him seem clueless to the factor that he helped make Rumple's anger.
THat actually flows nicely - revenge is a machine that keeps on going, so to say - for Hook to have a target, he has to view rumple as evil, for Rumple to be evil, he has to do evil things, so the only way Hook can fulfill his thirst for vengeance is if Rumple remains the heartless man he was.
When Hook knew not only where to find the blanket that Rumpelstiltskin prized, but arranged a diversion in order to steal it--well, that's when the plot jumped the shark for me. I give up.
good. You don't have enough attention to comprehend the show anyway, since both of those were explained in show (Hook SAW Rumple show Belle the cloth and he knew of Belle's importance since previous flashback of his)
Was the car that hit Hook Emma's ex boyfriend? Remember when Pinocchio sent him the post card? We haven't seen him since.
Belle and Rummpie are my fav couple on this show. I love watching them. Can't wait to see how Rummpie gets her back since Belle told Regina they will always betogether. Missed Regina on most of the show. Regina is my fav of all the characters on the show. Where was Cora? I love the way women and this show kick butt and don't sit around waiting for their Prince Chaming to save them. Question? Nobody else hangs out at the docks to see seagulls sitting a ship that can't be seen?
This is the episode where I quit watching. I've stuck around this long perhaps because of Robert Carlyle's excellent acting, but they jumped the shark when they introduced Mulan. When Hook knew not only where to find the blanket that Rumpelstiltskin prized, but arranged a diversion in order to steal it--well, that's when the plot jumped the shark for me. I give up. In spite of an appealing cast, it's really a boring, stupid show.
If anyone saw the license plate, you would know that the stranger is from Pennsylvania and that rhymes with.... TRANSYLVANIA!!! The Stranger is Victor's Brother, aka the creature of FRANKENSTEIN...
You bring up an interesting point Elizabeth. Could the line really have affected Rumple? He was always himself in Storybrooke and others reverted to themselves as Storybrooke residents if they crossed it. Did Rumple really have anything to fear? Belle needed that spell more than Rumple. That was probably a hint to Hook's plan all along, to make Belle forget him.
How did Hook know about the line anyway?
Why would Rumple now leave Belle alone knowing Hook was alive and would still do anything to hurt him?
Rumple put so much stress on not having enough enchantment, that it slighted a hint to the odds. This entire story is messed up. Hook's vengeance made him seem clueless to the factor that he helped make Rumple's anger. By calling him a coward, Rumple only set out to prove himself and so went the eye for an eye. You know what they say about that one.
Rumple and Belle do absolutely nothing for me, I cringe when they're on screen. So I was jumping up and down when Belle was shot and clapped in applause when she lost her memories. Horrible couple
Bring me more awesome Regina and Hook
Bored, you know Rumple deserve to be hurt.
Just NOT through the perfection that is Belle.
And NOT as soon as he did a couple of genuinely good, redeemable decisions(sparing smee and hook).
NO one hurts Belle, no matter the reason.
Elle, the guy in the car was Ethan Embry, not the actor who played Henry's father in the flashback episode. It was revealed a few months ago that he would play a stranger coming to the town.
Belle is one of my favorite fairytale characters, but try as I might I am not really a fan of her and Rumple on this show. I was shocked when she was shot, though. I liked her backstory with Mulan (my favorite Disney character) and how she and Phillip met. Now they just need to show her in the emporer's army and bring Shang in and I'll be happy. I feel like the made a big deal about the addition of Aurora and Mulan and then nothing really happened with them. Aurora was whiny and Mulan a bit rude and that was it.
I like Snow White and Charming's new issues. She is tired of fighting and constantly loosing him. But what's with Emma's new look? She's wearing a lot of turtlenecks which are a bit out of character and don't look all that great on her.
Don't worry Mahnta, Hook will survive because he is a series regular. Bored, you know Rumple deserve to be hurt.
okay let me just say i loved this episode.it was way better than the last episode.i totally like where the story is headed.feel like hook is now even with rumple although i feel quite bad for belle.god i hope hook survives....:(
It's interesting that Rumple always knew who he was in Storybrooke. Had he crossed over without his enchantment spell, what would he have reverted to?
