@km with aingavite baa, are you playing the game of good episode or lesser episode?
mimi

thank you for your help! there are sometimes words I don't understand so the subtitles help even if they make mistakes sometimes.
Ill have to rewatch 2*18!

no actually they translated it "it's upstairs" doesnt make any sense! like she's actually not welcome in his room and she has to go while it's the opposite.
never mind I'm thinking out loud!
god you cant imagine how you can't watch TM in French once you have seen it in OV! sounds horrible.. and Simon's voice is so great no one can match it.

@ huisclothes
First thing to come to mind is "aingavite baa", 2*18.
@ Mimi and bonaduz, "aingavite baa" is an attempt to piece together Shoshone words to say red water.

i, too, want to play favorite episode. any red john or heavily patrick backstory episode is great in my book. and even
lesser eps have great scenes. these are all-round good eps in my book. season one: the pilot, red brick & ivy, ladies in red, bloodshot, red handed, red john's footsteps. season two: redemption, red badge, black gold and red blood, red bulls, his right red hand -- the whole bosco arc. throwing fire, code red, red sky in the morning. season three: red sky at night, cackle-bladder blood, ball of fire, red moon, jolly red elf, red mile, every rose has its thorn, strawberries & cream. season 4: scarlett ribbons, little red book, blinking red light, fugue in red, always bet on red, war of the roses, cheap burgundy, red rover, crimson hat. season 5, crimson ticket, devils cherry, red dawn, red sails in the sunset. anyone want to start thermo-nuclear war and list our least favorite eps? least favorite scenes?

ani, do you mean an epi that you wrote? Id love to read it it sounds interesting!
the one I wrote is just a one shot (so it could be like an in between episode) with a murder story and a deeper connection between jane and lisbon, it is quite simple to be honest but it was great writing it.

ok I have a question for u english speaking people.
in ep 4*10 when jane is back at the hospital after the conman show, he tells Lisbon he quits working for the CBI etc but tells her he'll give her his parting gift the next morning. then she sits down on a chair by the bed and he says "there is room up here", what does he mean by that? because it has been translated in French like this "there is more room on the floor above" but how I see it is, he means there is room up here in bed with me.
which is it?

mimi, I have thought about it before but I wouldn't know where to go with it. I have kept it in my head. It's an episode where a msyterious person who Jane buys sandwiches from makes little comments about Jane's life. Jane knows in the back of his head that this person shouldn't know these things and he just blows the comments off. The person talks to Jane about spirituality, good/evil and him reconciling himself with his own life. Jane thinks it's a load of crap until this person turns up in places they could not or should not possibly be in. Jane can not figure out if what's happening to him is real or not and I won't finish this episode by telling you the ending. I play the mysterious person of course!

My condolences bonaduz. I've been present when a few people have left this world, even held a few hands, but never was asked to witness a suicide (all ER instances for me). That must have been really difficult.
"the red mile" is a favorite for me as well.

Love reading everyone's plot ideas and favorite episode comparisons. I tend to enjoy them all, some more than others. The end of "fugue in red" 4*10 and the "Devil's Cherry" 5*2 are some of my favorites. I tend to like the interaction scenes most or the ones that offer examples of Jane's attachment to either his family or the team. I was touched in "Blood in, Blood out" 2*14 when Jane pushed his way into going with Cho and the ending with Cho asking forgiveness from his friend's grandmother. And all the titles have red represented either by varying shades, different languages, numerical representation, hidden within the word ("REDemption, 2*1), or an object that is red color. We can't escape red (or red headed people in The Mentalist episodes).

Have to agree with @huisclothes about CBI Ron -- RJ so obsessed he works in CBI dronedom for 40-hrs a wk to keep an eye on Patrick? Don't see RJ being able to tolerate that. Needs more freedome to be nefarious.

back to "did ron see the gun?" re-screened the episode. the lawyer drops his arm to his side so the gun is cheated a little behind his hip. ron looks him over -- casually curious -- then drives off. ron didn't see it. my opinion. also, if ron is rj, why would he let some guy with a gun chase after patrick jane in a parking lot? rj knows all. does not want patrick dead. even if ron is a minion, i think there'd be hell to pay for ron's mistake whether he knew patrick was in trouble or not and whether patrick got killed or not. we might not see ron around the cbi water cooler anymore. like i've said about ron/red john working 40 hours a week for 5 years at a low to mid level cbi job, what's the point? is red john so obsessed with the cbi he spends his life as a go-fer? rj would have a cool life. consistency says ron/rj makes no sense. but who says the writers are consistent? if we start seeing him front and center every week, might be him.

That's heavy bonaduz, how did you handle it? It's a really hard position to be put in. But the reality of it is, if someone is going to do that you can't stop them. I hope you were ok with yourself after that. Did you see any similarities between that episode and what you experienced, art imitating life or life imitating art?

bonaduz, you're serious? you were asked to help someone die? that must be so hard indeed and yet you know it was a beautiful thing at the same time. I don't know how I'd react. I think suicide is a horrible thing and at the same time it's a relief. depends on how you look at it.
ok I can send it to you by email if you want dont know how we can do that to keep secrecy?

anitraward1: Speaking of Dr. Steiner - s3 ep18 The Red Mile - where Steiner asks Jane to witness his suicide? That's A LOT to ask somebody. I happend to be in a similar situation last summer - and let me tell you, it's not nice!!! But it showed a different side of Jane, more caring, not as selfish for a change. Sweet of him to distract Steiner with the coin. I really liked this ep as well.
mimi: I would love to read your stuff!
