The Originals Casting Scoop: Who are Sophie and Davina?
Move over, Bonnie Bennett, and make room for two new witches on The Vampire Diaries.
According to E! News, The CW is looking for a pair of actresses to come on board the April 25 installment of this drama, which, of course, will serve as the backdoor pilot for the wildly anticipated Vampire Diaries spinoff.
The first, Sophie, is described as a "strong leader" who is plotting some kind of revolution because her magic has been quelled.
The second, Davina, has a few demons in her closet, but has mostly lived a life sheltered by her caregivers.
Who might be ripe for these roles? What is your reaction to Daniel Gillies joining The Originals? Visit E! for more scoops and spoilers and sound off now!
UPDATE: Daniella Pineda has been cast as Sophie.

Do they know how to do a spinoff? Everything I here about this fills me with dread. My expectations keep getting lower and lower. By the time this pilot premieres my expectations might be so low, it might actually come off as decent... which could be their gameplan, maybe...
Totally agree :-/

These mysterious witch girls sound like the girl versions of Stefan and Damon but I hope that they can help Bonnie out to solve these topsy turvy madness throughout the show. =]

Why couldn't Bonnie go evil and join up with Klaus in New Orleans?
The people coming up with these ideas... What kind of qualifications do you need to be a writer for CW? Anybody know?
