Emma Roberts Cast in Delirium Pilot

Emma Roberts is on her way back to the small screen.

The actress will play the lead in the Fox pilot Delirium, which is based on a series of young adult novels penned by Lauren Oliver.

The story takes place in a future where love is both illegal and erased via a unique procedure. But with three months to go before her treatment, Roberts' Lena falls for a dreamy young man.

In other pilot casting news:

• Patrick Warburton will anchor the CBS sitcom Jacked Up, portraying a retired baseball player adjusting to his new life.
• David Walton will play the man who bonds with a much younger man in Jason Katims' NBC adaptation of the Nick Hornby book About a Boy.
• James Wolk will appear in CBS' Crazy Ones, taking on the role of Zach Cropper, a copywriter at the ad agency where Robin Williams' main character works.
