GUESS WHAT PEOPLE: ALEX AND SCOTT ARE FOR MCDANNO....and steve ALREADY had plans with danny...WHY should he have backed out of those, to go with catherine....aparently the plans had been made ahead of time...catherine's tickets was last minute....the actors throw in those GREAT moments between danny and stve....and i for 1, was THRILLED that danny STAYED at the hospital....how else was steve supposed to get home?

i LOVED IT....i'm a MCDANNO FAN....and imo, catherine does NOT add anything....last week, she was only on for the last few minutes of the show....and imo, ALEX & SCOTT have far MORE chemistry, then alex has with the actress who plays catherine.....i LOVED that steve picked DANNY over catherine...and danny picked STEVE over the football game.....i want MORE of STEVE, DANNY AND GRACE.

I think there is time for a more Kono and Chin centric episodes I mean like Mcdanno but Kochin episodes to say it in a way, where the focus are the 2 of them and less Danny. I mean this season there had been several McDanno episodes and just one Chin episode, one Kono. I mean for me all the 4 charaters are equally important although I do get that Steve is the leadear and he can have a little bit more time than the others.

I loved last night's episode - the football banter was hilarious and the bromance was at it's best !
Especially loved the fantasy football cargument, great stuff !
I think they're moving along perfectly with Catherine. Last year the writers were bashed endlessly for 'pushing' Lori on us, and I think they did.
They're easing Cath in but basically leaving the stories with the 'Core 4'
I think the writers are doing a great and I'm loving Season 3

There were 2 visible and clearly upps on this episode,the change of shirt and I do want to know why that happened and the fact that Sgt Duke looked completely healed after the Hookman episode knowing the severity of his wounds. How long had passed in the show then from the Hookman event to yesterday episode, 3 months perhaps? In order for Duke to be completely healed?

Wow! So much Cath-bashing. Ugly and nasty. This epi was good - the procedural on the other hand was rather far-fetched. Seeing how excited the guys were to see the ProBowl was priceless, just wish Steve and Danny could have enjoyed it more!! Steve did the right thing - sure there were ways around it but it's not the Cath/Steve show it's Hawaii 5-0. Danny did the right thing too. Danny handing Kono his phone adorable! Also, don't think there was much time for Steve to call Cath and tell him he was hurt so how would she know??? Best line, Steve telling Cath if Danny could run as fast as he talked, he could have been in the NFL!! Lets leave Cath alone please. We can only hope for the best, not what we want.

Cath is nothing more than a token girlfriend and there will never be anything meaningful between her and Steve. Steve acts like an immature teenager around her and its pathetic seeing how she puts up with his crap. Their relationship could have given us a lot more insight into Steve, but instead of some insight or depth into the characters, the writers constantly regurgitate the same idiotic forced bromance moments between Steve and Danny which is ruining the characters and dragging the show down. Danny is mostly unbearable now and I'd rather see more of Cath or any other character than the childish behavior of Danny and Steve.
This is not the McDanno show. Its Hawaii Five O, based on 4 characters and their personal lives. Enough with the cheesy, childish relationship of Steve/Danny and give the rest of the cast more to do. The Chin centric episode received the highest ratings of the season which proves that the show does so much better with less Danny and no bromance.

I thought lastnights episode was very light hearted. Lots of bromance the crime sorta got lost in the shuffle. Very confusing but still a good story. Love the reference of "little Stevie" can't wait for old pictures of "little Stevie" to appear. Catherine's choice of who to take to the Pro Bowl was great would love to see more of these two ladies together. The face that Catherine wasn't at the hospital, she didn't know he was there. I just wanted to know why Steve had a blue shirt on in the interogation room and then left the room going to his office and the shirt turned green. We notice things like that. I would like to see Steve and Catherine get alittle more romantic, I know, just yell at me now but it makes Steve more human. Danny also needs a love interest it's good for the show can't be tough all the time. I just hope that this show continues for a very long time and I think they have done a great job so far this season

i have to say, i'm a bit surprised by some of the comments here criticizing the reviewer. reviewers have opinions too and we may not always agree, but i think the reviews are at least well thought-out and informed. it seemed like the previous reviewer really didn't have a good grasp on the history of the show and the background of the characters. and when pointed out, he would say "oh i must've missed that episode". whether i always agree or not, i at least appreciate that someone actually watches and understands the dynamics of a show.

I am just to add a few comments. I dont like Catherine character at all this season, she was much better in S1 and 2. I'm still not sure about her character yet either. She started off as this "resource tool" for Steve and we knew they had some sort of relationship and it was ok. Now she helps out, but now she seems more like regular girlfriend, so I just don't know yet. It just seems sort of unbalanced. Make up your mind writers!!!
Danny becoming way too whiner, I dont like it. I like his whines better on season 1 and 2.
Just a few things I like about last nite episode, like Steve pick up line specially the one at the end when Danny was running to catch the ball.

Not a bad episode, entertaining. It was fun seeing Larry Manetti running a bar in Hawaii again. OH, by the way, McGarrett is right in the fact Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the game today, the championships prove it.

Got halfway through the coments and gave up on the Catherine haters. It is NOT the Steve and Catherine show, it's the 5-O team show, with a girlfriend for Steve, and an ex-wife for Danny, and a deceased wife for Chin, and an occassional boyfriend for Kono (Adam), and other minor characters that make for humor in the storylines! Everone hated Lori, don't know why, except she was made a member of the team for a specific reason. As for Catherine's Naval job....for the last time, Intell Officers have a shore job until a ship deploys and needs an intell officer on board. They work 7:30 to 4:30 most days, unless they have "24-hour duty", which could fall every 3rd, 4th, or 5th day, etc. And intoday's military, when off-duty you do not wear a uniform. So, Catherine's popping in every now and the is good for Steve and there for him when he needs her experise (which is really not suppose to happen). OK, off my military soapbox. Episode was good and I enjoyed seeing everyone included...in

Enjoyable light episode. This must be H50's Valentine's Day episode with all the bromance. Danno and Steve are supposed to be opposites (like all "buddy cop" shows) Steve is the over the top take no prisoners guy and Danno is the levelheaded lets think about it guy but the writers go too far with Danno and he comes off as whinny. As for Catherine she should know that sensitivity is not Steve's strongpoint. He's not a hearts and flowers guy. Again the writers really haven't found a niche to put her in. A couple other comments. I'm a Cowboy fan like Catherine but I wouldn't be caught dead in a Tony Romo jersey after his performance against the Redskins. Also Duke apparently made a very fast recovery after being shot by the Hookman. Duke has to be in his 50's (Dennis Chun is 61) and you don't heal very fast at that age.

People who disagrees on Catherine I believe is not that they do not like her as Steve gf it is that her character should need to be written better and in a different way not the way so far she had been portrayed, that is why in my particular opinion, her character had let me down so far. I was expecting a different Catherine this season.
I mean she does all the favors Steve asks her to do but at the end Steve barely has time for her. Why her character puts up with that? I should have dumped him a long time ago. Either make those 2 break up and maybe her role can be much better or improve her character in a different direction towards the relationship she has with Steve
For me Cath is not like Max as some may find similar. Max is necessary on the show, and he is a guy and that is why his showing up not each episode do work on the show. On the other hand Catherine is Steve gf so that is very different the way she has to show up on the screen, she aint Max, Those are 2 different c

I really enjoyed this nice, light weight episode this week! It was definitely fun to see everyone end up at the game...except for Steve and Danny! Have to say I love Kamekona's clone - Flipper! I know there was a crime, I'm just not too sure what it was, and I honestly don't care. I'm kind of missing the big action scenes that have been nonexistent for the last few episodes, but I'm okay with that because I do enjoy the bromance - even the three-way bromance! Catherine is working out just fine for me, and I like the way she has become a friend to Danny as well. Steve got in a few good jabs to Danny this week - especially his remark at the end: "if that guy could run as fast as his mouth does, he could have a career in the NFL!" That goes on to my H50 classics list! My only comment to the reviewer: It might be nice if you were up on all your H50 eps like the majority of the commenters here are, and if you rewatched the ep to catch everything that happens before reviewing and then having

Football plot-EH, but Steve was right about Tom Brady being the best ever. And it as sweet of Cath to get Danno that ball. Murder mystery-EH, though the lounge singer was terrific. Another "hope to see again" character.
I'll jump into the Cath debate. I like how they use her, in/out like they do with Max. She shows Steve's softer side, he acts goofy around her and smiles alot(always a good thing when Alex O smiles). I fear without her the Bromance might be a bit too much, she balances that. I also had no problem with Steve not going with her, he had previous plans. Agree too, we didn't know if she knew Steve was injured, so no obligation to go to hospital.

Danny has no purpose but I have to endure him each week. He adds nothing to the show except the annoying whiney factor. I have no problem with romance and bromance if it was done well, but both relationships or whatever you want to call them, suck. Cath's bows to all of Steves demands and her sole purpose seems to please him, while he can barely give her the time of day.
The bromance is ruining the show as Steve is so much better when he's away from his clownish partner. Their characters become laughable and not in a good way when they are together. Cath's character has been ruined because the writers are so desparate to appease the McDanno fans. The ratings started to improve after the last disasterous McDanno episode and we had some good episodes, but I wouldn't be surprised if they start to drop again after this rubbish.

A lot of Cath debate this week! I'm on the fence. On one hand, I prefer when they have her just occasionally pop in as Steve's girlfriend and they don't have her fighting crime with the team (leave team alone!). And she and Steve are cute together. But then I also understand when people question why she is billed as a regular character, and she really isn't that necessary. If they wanted to add a new character this season, I wish they would've focused more on Doris. I think they could've done some really interesting things with the relationship between Steve and Doris, as well as exploring her background and relationship with Wo Fat. It does seem like the writers get off track as they go through the seasons.

I cannot for the life of me understand why there can't be bromance AND romance. This whole debate has begun to bore me.I love the interaction between McGarrett and Danno,and I love what Catherine brings to the show. When people complain that Cath needs a "reason" to be in an episode I roll my eyes. She HAS a reason/purpose- she is Steve's girlfriend. Its great to watch her scenes!
