Worst episode of Person of Interest I had ever seen. This woman could take out all those guys and even Reese yet the crazy woman was able to taser her just like that? I don't buy it. Couldn't stand this woman either, and hated seeing an entire episode about her. I'd much rather see Finch and Reese. Please don't ever do this again POI.

I love this show. The world-building done by the writers is just amazing, and the adversaries and allies are so full of depth. There is no better show on TV.
It's been a while since we heard from Elias; Is Alistair Wesley coming back; Will Logan Pierce show up again; Has the Machine expanded beyond the facility they keep its original hardware, and will Fusco go on another date??? Can't get enough of this show!

Actually I thought this was a set up for a new show and spinoff for next fall. The chick coud do more international work. Good episode, totally different take.

@Maka - totally agree with you, I consider MACHINE to be one of the characters of POI and its evolution is necessary throughout the show, it was fine they gave an episode on how machine works to save the terrorism. Shaw was a proxy character used to portray that aspect and I am more than happy that we didn't saw that just through flashbacks but from the view of character itself.
@Virg - So one of the best shows once try to do something different and you say goodbye?? Its this type of out of the box writing that has made this show so good. Lack of action?? this episode was like Bourne movie coming on television, total thrill ride. Anyway you are entitled to your opinion but c'mon saying Goodbye best show POI just because of one episode, isnt that harsh??

Thank you POI writers for not letting this franchise get stale! Like almost every other show on TV that is one for more than season! Thoroughly enjoyed this episode. Keep mixing it up.
@klimville, totally agree!

What, last night wasn't enough action for you?
The Machine has been a major part of the show since Day One. I always laugh whenever I see people whining about a show embracing its mythology like they want thought free tv. Well, for thought free tv go to CSI.

One thing I have not seen my any of the reviews online Ive read is HOW Reese and Finch caught on to her.
While Shaw was getting the Relevant number, Finch got HER as a person of interest on the irrelevant list.
Fantastic arc obviously, and this show keeps finding new and exciting ways to bring in new players, enemies, comrades, etc...
One thing also it does... better than shows like Mentalist or their like... they dont keep Adversaries around for 5 seasons just for the sake of keeping a conflict going. They kill off one bad guy as they are bringing in 2 or 3 new potential bad guys.

Best line of the ep:"You get thirsty when you die;"as John hands Shaw a bottle of water.

Wow! I totally didn't expect an episode like this. And while I did miss the banter between John and Finch, I have to say, the episode drew me in and I did enjoy it. Really did. Can't wait to see Sam again. I think it's brave to try to grow a show that's doing so well, but they did a great job...

Love, love POI. It's funny about 20 minutes into the show I realized how little we've seen of Reese and Finch and that I don't care. It was so interesting to me that there were other agents who were doing jobs, even for the good of the country with just the occasional corrupt mission :) Shaw was a great character and I look forward to seeing her again. POI does such a great job bringing back returning characters, having all this different arcs going on, yet still really bring a procedural. Great episode!

P.S. i called the number. I was wondering when they showed the number why they showed it for a long time and it was the standard 555 number. Great little promotion for the show.

I really love this show. It is so well written. Love SS! You everybody knew she did not kill Reese. I want Cole to stick around also. It was nice to see Leon, Bear, Carter and Fasco at the end. Only problem was if SS is such a badass why could her old handler catch up to her and how could Root get the drop on her? I am just asking! But I still loved her and can't what to see how she fits into the show. Great work writers!

I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, and too, thought Jason Bourne. It would have been nice to see more of our regvulars, but their intervention was just enough for this storyline. Is the show going into a new direction? Come on...Root isn't finished yet, and she needs more operatives into the mix to keep her away from her obsession with the machine and Harold! I like Carol's questions, but do you really want them answered so quickly? I would hope POI will be around for quite a few more seasons to answer them and still keep us on the edge of our seat with episodes like this one! Great show, good review! Definitely a 5.0 in my book.

Granted shes the hot chick Who had been doing Severide on Chicago Fire ....but anytime this show goes off formula like last night ...it's just a long hour waiting for Elementary to start ....STOP IT !!!!!!
Loved this episode! Just when you think you've figured out what's next- WOW- another twist! Mr. Nolan is a great director and writer. And who knew Sarah was be so kick ass? She reminds me of Reese in the first few episodes. Loved it when they came outside at the last of the show and found 3 bad guys with their knees shot (typical Reese). It keeps getting more interesting. Keep em coming!

Sarah Shahi - yes! My heart skips a beat every time she hits the screen. what a great addition to the cast - and hopefully for some time to come. I first saw her in the maddeningly under-rated magnificent series 'Life' starring Damien Lewis so I look forward to seeing how her part develops in this show which just gets better and better every week.

Very disappointed that we only got a hint of the main characters. I understand the purpose of this episode was to fill in some blanks but ultimately the character of Sam was one dimensional and not that interesting. I think the ratio could have been adjusted to have more John and Finch and less Sam.

I'm for new twists. Had no problem it took half the show the see Reese. Understand introducing new characters to be believable takes time, takes away from of our favorite duo. It was done right, believable and I'm sure we'll be right back to seeing Reese and Finch doing their thing as soon as it returns. With all that said, it was still a very very good episode making it all fit for future shows. With all the action Reese and Finch have given us over two seasons, take a breath deal with one episode to introduce a new player to connect the dots.

The thing that keeps me coming back to POI is it always surprises me. I liked that they did an episode with a twist. It was great to see how an object of John and Harold's interest sees their interventions. And I absolutely love Root (what a great villain!) so was happy to see her back. Brilliant!

If this were another tv show this would've been a spin-off ep POI=Pentagon Ops Intel(CBS is the king of spin-off networks). Great show nice to flip the script once & a while. Samantha Shaw r u my new Bat Girl(sorry Carter ur handy w/ the firepower but haven't seen ur hand 2 hand skills). Thanks for adding another strong but feminine women to the cast and its still not a "chick show"

This was a disappointing episode on several scores. The character Shaw was not given enough layers despite the overload of minutes to make me care about her at all. The acting was one dimensional and un-nuanced. Tragically we now know much more about this uninteresting character than we have learned about our four heroes in almost two seasons: I want to know how Finch was injured, what happened to his partner Ingram, whether Finch will try to contact Grace again, who is Carter's husband and what became of him, what does Reese think of Carter's failed FBI job offer, how is Reese dealing with the emotional fall out from the Rikers ordeal and his near death, what does he make of the death of Stanton? When will Elias and HR strike again? Etc. This is what I want to know about our characters. Shaw is an unfortunate and weakly presented distraction from the main characters.
